  1. Mike, My shaft is offset to the pass. side a bit. Maybe because of the R230, but I thought that the R200 was also slightly offset? Tim
  2. Joe, I will check some measurements on my LT1/T56 this evening and post the measurements. My drivetrain alignment is close to perfect. I know this because I used a solid welded driveshaft to line everything up. BTW, I slotted the mounting hole in my X-member, but only backwards to push the engine as far back as possible (possible with the LT1 because of no rear distributor). Tim
  3. Well...my pos MS system still doesn't work...so "F"-it....I'm thoroughly pissed off at this point!!!!!! Tim
  4. Excellent reality check, Grump!! Tim
  5. Get the VIN number of the car and call Callaway....get the history and be confident. Tim
  6. Let us know when, we can have a get together. Tim
  7. Well the LT1 sender by the thermostat is for the PCm signal. The one in the odd bank head is for the gauge. Don't know if it makes a difference, but put your sender in a tin of boiling water and check the sender that way. Tim
  8. Open your picture in MS Paint. On the top tool bar, select "image", then select "stretch/Skew". You can then decrease the picture size by %. Decrease the size by a factor of the current file size to teh file size needed. There may be a better way, but that's the quick and dirty way I always use. Tim
  9. You will likely have to reconfigure the exhaust manifolds to fit the turbos into the Z, but Hoo YAAA....what a swap!!! You'll need some serious chassis reinforcement!! Man, that make me salivate!! Tim
  10. LOL!!! With some practice and some tire and exhaust upgrades (and turn off the AC for crying out load ), you should be able to get that thing into the 11s!!! Very cool Dude!! Tim
  11. Picked up some stuff from Costco today, call "glass cleaner" by SprayWay inc. Works wonders!!! better than any windex I've ever used. No streaks or smears, just perfectly clean glass. Beautiful stuff...goes on like shaving cream, and contains no amonia! http://www.spraywayinc.com/ Tim
  12. Soak it overnight in a mild solution of muriatic acid (swimming pool stuff). When I took my headers to Rewarder, he dumped them in a vat of this stuff and the headers had gotten pretty rusty since I welded them. Don't know if it will strip the coating too....maybe test it on a small piece, like a braket or something.....go to a JY and grab something off a newer car...many of the little brackets are zinc coated. Tim
  13. OK, that makes sense. I am using my main power switch as my remote sensing terminal. Everything is poweres directly off of that, so i guess I'm cool (or at least my wiring is ) Tim
  14. Wait a Minute!!!! What's this resistor thing!! Did I miss something? I haven't put in anything like that....please explain!! What gives? Thanks, Tim
  15. I believe it's a security feature so that the site can't be shut down by another server sending it a bunch of requests. Tim
  16. I remember a company that used to sell on E-Bay, based in the LA area that sold valve covers with custom (customer specs) engraving. I know one of the members here have a pair on his V8. Can anyone point me to their web site. I can't find their ads on EBay anymore! Thanks, Tim
  17. Guy, Cool...after all the trials and tribulations, you are almost there!!! Just be careful...you have been in a hurry to get things done, do yourself a favor and, before you go out on the road, go through the car from bumper to bumper and roof to rails with a pile of wrneches and double check EVERYTHING!!! It would be a terrible shame to wrap your work around a tree or lightpole because you forgot to tighten a bolt. Happy motoring!! Tim
  18. Remember the wiring. That is a big part of swapping from carb to FI. You will likely be able to use your shaft, the splines are the same, and I believe that the length is similar, but my memory is failing there... If you don't have electric fans now, you'll need them. Tim
  19. Sounds like you've got the basics covered. BTW, I have heard nothing good about Speed-O-Motive. Tim
  20. FWIW, I sat in that car and fired the engine and revved it up. It's silky smooth and sounds great. The only drawback, as Dave mentioned, is hood clearance. Big ol' cowl will fix that Tim
