  1. Aux, Maybe a few of you NorCal guys can get together and rent out a small warehouse. If you go a bit further out of town, you should be able to find something fairly cheap. Just check on the security if you plan to leave tools etc there. Tim
  2. I placed my order with Digi-key back in Feb. The last email I got from them, my order will be complete on July 17th. Tim
  3. Go to your local parts store and get an aerosol product called "Ozium". Works great. Someone at work had a cat pee in his NEW car and it smelled terrible, but Ozium did the trick. Tim
  4. Thanks man.....it's the stories about spanking other muscle cars that keeps me going. This bodywork is kicking my a$$......but I am finishing off the last of the major bodywork/repairs...so almost done!! I'll have the entire car in primer this weekend (maybe even today!), it's 93.1% in primer now . Then it's blocking the entire car, fixing any little problems here and there, then off to the paint booth (my neighbour works at a bodyshop, so paint job for materials $$$ only!! ). Then just put everything back together!! I figure 2 more months!! I'm not updating my website or posting anymore pictures until it's done now!! Tim
  5. Yeah Man....make him eat LS1 humble pie!!! Send the the nag off to the knackers yard!! Watch out for smokey bear though! Tim
  6. Just buy the engine and computer, wire it in yourself and get a cable for the laptop (or desktop) and get tunercat. The wiring of the PCM is pretty easy, just get a factory service manual and trace the wires. It's only about 6 or seven wires to hook everything up. If you need help just ask away. I rewired my whole car (1994 Z28 Lt1 into 73 240Z), so I have ZERO of the original Z wiring (Whoo HOO). I am not an electrical expert by any stretch of the imagination. Don't waste your money on the Painless kit. I was tempted to, but I am REALLY, REALLY glad I didn't. Once you have TunerCat, you can edit the PCM anyway you like!! Rather spend the $1000.00 plus on go fast parts instead of aftermarket electronics! Tim
  7. Mike, can you report back when you get your kit? Let us know your opinion of the whole setup. Tim
  8. Stop it...Stop it!! You guys are killing me. my 2 car garage is not even close to big enough!! These garages are what dreams are made of.. Davy, take this :malebitchslap: for turning me green Tim
  9. Here is a pic of the fuse panel I made. The parts are from Waytekwire.com. The actual fuse block was about 40 bucks. Tim
  10. I have this one and it's pretty good. My neighbor is a very experienced body guy and he is helping me, so I will sell this one if you want it. Tim
  11. Why not just get a wiring diagram and make one yourself. It's not that hard, and you will then have an indepth knowledge of where all the wires go. Go to Waytekwire.com for supplies. I did the entire harness for the LT1 Z completely from scratch. A weekend worth of work and it is neater and more logical than any I've seen 'off the shelf'. Tim
  12. Ya know, after all the effort I have (and am still) putting into my bodywork on my Z, I would have to kick her butt!! Georgeous or not!!! As the saying goes " No matter how beautiful and sexy she is....someone is tired of putting up with her $h1T!! " Tim
  13. Hmmm.....this little corner of the world is losing it's luster a bit! Tim
  14. I'm using the Honda S2000 red starter button. Looks sweet (pics on my www). There is wiring info on the web. Here it is... I still have it bookmarked: http://www.miatanet.com/garage/pushstart/ Tim
  15. Look at the throttle body on the intake (where the air goes in). The TPS is on the opposite side (closes to the fender side) of the accelerator linkage. It looks like a little square box held on with two screws on the sides and a plug coming off the top (looks like an injector connector). Hope that helps. Tim
  16. I'll be in the Mojave Desert all next week. (Needles and Blythe), may be back by Friday. I'll PM you if I get back into town. Tim
  17. Since carjacking is so prevalent in SA, just about every car has an anti hijack alarm/immobilizer. If you don't push a switch within a few seconds of starting, then 30 seconds later the alarms goes off, followed but the complete cutting of electrical power a few seconds later, very similar to what Jim is speaking of. It allows the perp to get away with the car (away from you) before anything happens, that way he doesn't just turn and shoot you on the spot. Very very effective, although when I worked at a tyre shop and the customer forgot to tell us where the switch was, it was a royal PITA! Had to disconnect the battery to stop the danm alarm! Tim
  18. BMW South Africa has factory installed anti-hijack devices below passenger and driver's door sills. Gas powered flame thrower. Very effective, but liability would be an issue in this lawsuit happy Country!! Tim
  19. 2 5/8" gauges for the smaller center pod gauges. Tim
  20. You don't have to 'cram' it, that is the correct size. Actually, it's a hair too small. Pics of mine on my site. Tim
  21. Here is a list of the styles: "Animal Style" - bun is grilled with mustard, sauteed onions instead of raw, pickles, extra "special sauce" "Wish Burger" - no meat, i.e. veggie burger "Protein Style" - lettuce wrapped around the burger instead of a bun for all of you who are in "The Zone" "Old Fashioned Style" - ketchup and mustard instead of the weird special sauce "Flying Dutchman" - two meat patties with two slices of cheese. that's it. "Double Meat" - Double Double without cheese "4x4" - 4 meat patties with 4 slices of cheese. Are you SURE you can eat that? "2x4" - 2 meat patties with 4 slices of cheese for the fromage afficionado "Grilled Cheese" - cheeseburger, sans meat "Fries - well done" - get your fries extra crispy and brown the way you like them! "Choco-Vanilla Swirl Shake" - just what it sounds like "Neopolitan Shake" - a blend of chocolate, vanilla and strawberry shakes. Tim
  22. No I don't think so. I think stock springs are less than half that rate, so they will be plenty stiff. Tim
  23. I have 225 rear and 200 front in my LT1 240Z. It is not on the road yet, so no driving impressions yet, but that is what the vendor recommended. Since it is very easy to change springs, and they are fairly cheap, it's not a problem to experiment. Tim
