  1. There are two versions currently. The latest version allows you to use the application in Windows. The previous version had to be used in DOS, which if you were running Win2K, you were SOL, because it would not work in a DOS emulation window. So what you have to do is: Download the software from the TC website. Send money for a license to TC. They will give you a registration number, which you type into the application. Then you have to buy the correct 'Definition' file for your particular PCM. When they send you the file, you just copy it to the TC subdirectory. You will also need a cable (from laptop to OBDI port). This can be purchased in 'kit' form or complete from AKM cables.com. That's it really. Read the PCM a few times to make sure everything works ok (can't damage PCM by reading it). Save several copies of your original configuration. Then make the changes to the file offline, and then download it to the PCM. It is really easy to make the changes. It has switches for several parameters, and graphs and tables for others. You can either manually change the numbers in teh tables, or just drag points on the graph. Very COOL STUFF!!!! Tim
  2. Also, LT1Edit is limitted to only one PCM. You cannot use it for a different PCM, so if you fry your PCM, or want to help a buddy tune his PCM, you're SOL. TunerCat is it for me!! Tim
  3. You gotta drag them into the address bar. Tim
  4. I had to go the picture properties and manually cut and paste the URL. Here they are: http://onarun.esmartweb.com/Datsun/My_240Z/image031.jpg http://onarun.esmartweb.com/Datsun/My_240Z/rimg0064.jpg http://onarun.esmartweb.com/Datsun/My_240Z/rimg0067.jpg Man that car looks great!!!!!!!! Tim
  5. Get the manual from http://www.jagsthatrun.com, then make up your mind. Buying a converted car is a good idea, but does have one big flaw: Building it yourself teaches you a lot about the car's mechanical makeup, which, in your position would be very beneficial. But if you are not very mechanically inclined, or lack the resources, you may want to approach those deficiencies first. Building a V8 Z, or any car for that matter, is a great learning experience, as long as you don't get in a hurry, or you will get fed-up and abandon the project. If you have a BIG cheque book, then have someone do it for you, but you will learn nothing, and probably not have it done the way YOU want it. Food for thought! Buy the manual for sure! Tim
  6. If the plugs are out, you should be able to use one of the accessory belts to turn the crank....tighten the belt, then turn by hand! Tim
  7. I have the factory file from my 94 Z28 PCM (unmolested). Tim
  8. Mark, The first thing to do is save your base file (unaltered OEM file) in at least 10 different places so you will always have a copy yo go back to. Then play with it, make changes and save under a different file name, dump to the PCM and try it. If it's completely unuseable, reload the OEM file, and try again. Tim
  9. Man that is a chunk of $$$, but the specs look AWESOME!!!! I dig the driver adjustable center diff!!! Can't go wrong if you can afford the $$$ Tim
  10. What do you think of this?: Front: The 3/4 Z logo without the tag line across the chest Rear: The tag line across the shoulders, large enough that it starts on the left sleeve, and ends on the right sleeve and maybe have the web url folloow the contour of the collar? I really like the black Tee idea, except that it is hot as hell in the sun. I was wearing my black HybridZ Tee at the MSA show, and although the air temp wasn't that high, I was hot as hell!!! For a denim shirt, how's this?: Small logo on the left chest, (maybe even the side view), and the large logo on the back , and the Url running down the sleeve? Tim
  11. Guy, To be honest, if I were you, I would switch to a later computer that is flashable. Invest the <$200 in the TunerCat software and a cable from AKM, and get a laptop (can be found vwery cheap on ebay/classifieds etc). Once you do that you have endless tuning options for free, and will never have to worry about burning chips again. You'll be much happier in the long run. Heck, once you've had one chip burned, you could have paid for the TunerCat setup!!! Setting the later PCM to run SD is merely a switch (radio button) in the software. Tim
  12. BTW, for the first time since the software change, I've had to login again...ie, it didn't remember me. Logged in ok, but wierd? Tim
  13. weight matching to 2 grams is no bragging point!! Need to get them to within .5 gram or better. If you have a set of rods already, just give them the full treatment, or get a set of Eagle Rods, or similar. Tim
  14. Ask for " Bubba"!!!! ROTFL Wow that drop from 1st to second and 4th to 5th is big!!, but hell, it's a great cruising ratio. Tim
  15. Marc, Mine is still new and hasn't seen much fuel, but my Dad has used them in his race cars for longer than I've been alive (30 years +) and has never had one bulge or collapse, in weather above 100 degrees F. Proper venting is the key. Tim
  16. Not just drag racing, John ...sorry just couldn't stop myself! Tim
  17. Denny, What happens when/if the CV wears out and starts getting noisy? Are you going to have to have new adapters made, or will you cut the welds on the adpter and reweld the new CV? That system has merit for sure, and the CV replacement may not be an issue (not sure how tough they are over the long term). I have a solution for the shaft walking and pushing against the backing plate on the inner CV (against the diff). Tim

Nope, I think that's it! Tim
  19. Guys, I was thinking about all three choices. I just want to know if those choices are popular, or if one or more of them would need to be substituted for something else. The patch idea is interesting though. Tim
  20. " I need NAWZ, make that two bottles and I need it tonight!" ha ha ha ha Tim
  21. http://www.imagestation.com/album/?id=4290268327 Would have taken more, but having continued battery problems with the dgi camera Tim
  22. It appears that Dan is having some issues which are keeping him from the site and the associated tasks concerning the logo and apparel. The consensus seems to be that S30Z Bushido's design is the choice of the new generation, so if anyone wants to go ahead with logo design on T-shirts and Caps, I can coordinate. I don't want to get too bogged down in too many different articles, so here are MY thoughts: 1. Plain lt. grey t-shirt with the logo on the front and the 'tagline' on the back (silkscreened) 2. Black ball cap, design placement as above.(embroidered) 3. Long sleeve denim shirt with small Hybrid Z text embroidered on the front and full logo and tagline embroidered on the back. Once I get consensus, (and the original design from artist), I can get some pricing. If my pricing comes back higher than what someone else can do, I will gladly defer to them. I know we were hoping to have these things done by the 2003 MSA event, but alas...... What thinks you guys? Tim
