  1. Oh NO!! the site would crash for sure....actually the entire internet would crash!! Tim
  2. ABSOLUTELY NO! plenty of places to find that stuff on the web, without cluttering up a technical discussion site with even more fluff than it already has.
  3. Amen Brutha!! "Smells like fiiisssh....Taaastes lahke Chikkkken!!" Tim
  4. Well I began assembling my Stimulator board today. Problem #1: I can't find any decent assembly instructions for the stim board. All the pictures of complete boards appear to be the old version of the PCB or something. Problem #2: I appears that 3 parts were not supplied (not on the pre-made order form?) the 2 little adjusters for the RPMs (1M pot, green body, and 1M pot, green body), and the little 3 prong "2N2222A NPN transistor", and the 9V battery clip (no biggie). Am I mising something, was the pre-made order form from the MegaSquirt site missing these parts, or what? Can I find these things at Radio Shack, or Fryes or someplace local? Also, the little electronics tutorial on the assembly website says that capacitors and resistors have polarity, but none of those items had any of the markings or unequal leads mentioned in the tutorial, nor does the board have any kind of + or - markings. What's the deal? The LEDs do have shorter -ve leads, and the instructions do tell which way to mount them. Thanks, Tim
  5. The only thing that was a PITA was using a hammer and dolly to get that double bend on the fender lip edge of the new inside panel. Tim
  6. I have the Corbeau's. I had to space the cross bar on the main hoop rearwards so that they would fit. I was just in Pep Boys today and they had some fairly nice looking racing type seats. Didn't look at the price, but they had 3 difference color schemes. By the way, Pep Boys also has an entire section dedicated to Fast and Furious merchandise.....OMG that movie has it's own ricer product line now!!! It's actually labled Fast and Furious!! ha ha ha ...strobe lights, pedal covers and various ricer junk!! Tim
  7. Jamie, I just got done doing this on both sides of my car (lovely surprise to see when I sanded off the paint and filler fell out leaving gaping holes). I placed the new VB panels over the area and marked with a sharpie, then cut out with a disk, leaving a little extra, just in case. I drilled out the spot welds in the jam and along the fender well and pulled off the old piece. Then I placed the new panel on again and used the grinder to sand down the edges of the body until the fit was perfect. Then I butt welded the panel in, starting on the top and in the jam. I drilled holes in the new panel to attach in the same manner as the old panel in the door jam, wheel well and at the bottom along the underside. After I welded a few welds along the top and jam, I clamped the bottom and welded in the drilled holes. I also had to make a panel for inside of the well (facing the tread of the tire), and before I welded that in, I sprayed some hammerite into the inside of the new panel. Hope this makes sense. Tim
  8. OMG That bear had good chow that day!! Tim
  9. Alex, you didn't get the subtle hint kindly provided by Dave above. TURN OFF THE CAPS LOCK. IT LOOKS LIKE YOU'RE SHOUTING. Thanks, Tim
  10. It's called "Swapping Paint". Tim
  11. I don't have cable at home (can't rationalize the expense), and am at a hotel on Business.....so I'm getting my fix on non-broadcast TV Anyway, there is a show right now where Juan Montoya is running Jeff Gordon's DuPont stock car and Jeff is running Montoya's BMW F1 at Monaco. Very cool...Gordon was actually within one second of last years qualifying lap on his first time out. Tim
  12. Do a search for MegaSquirt. There are a couple of posts currently running. Tim
  13. Federal offense...HUGE $$$$$$$$, plus time with Bubba. Tim
  14. Guy, Do you have the facilities to weld SS? That would be cool! You could just tack it all together, then take it to a shop to get finished up if you're worried about it. If you do plan to do it yourself, make sure that you have a metal chop saw. It will make your life much, much easier. When i made my headers, I only had a 4" grinder with a cutting wheel....it took much longer than it should have because it makes it more difficult to make perfectly straight cuts. Actually everything I've done on my car I've used my little 4" cutter....it's a little gem, but I wish I would have purchased a 14" chop saw in the beginning! Tim
  15. Watch out for those older 700 R4s, they are weak and frought with problems. Do a web search to pick the best years to get. The kickdown cable connects to the carb or TB linkage to 'tell' the transmission when to shift to a lower gear, or 'kick down' Tim
  16. The old posts weren't removed, rather Dan had problems importing them into the new software. Last I heard he was still trying to work it out. Tim
  17. Nah, I doubt it's the vacuum. Will it pump up? (get more solid when you pump the pedal)? If you've replaced the master cylinder, check the adjustment rod setting and bleed again, starting with the right rear (furtherest point away from the MC), then the LR, then RF, then LF. Tim
  18. The injector clips are pretty universal. Just go to a self serve JY and pull a few of them, same thing for the Knock sensor plugs. As for the exhaust, you could do a couple of things: Either keep looking for a shop to do it for you, Go back to the first shop and have them put in the system with the CAT, then remove it yourself and make a length of exhaust to put in it's place, Or just make your own system. And as for your tranny mount, check your driveshaft angles before you go moving things around. Tim
  19. Depending on the altitude where you are...... Start off with about 10* BTDC initial timing, and total timing with advance should end up around 36*. That sould be a good starting point. Only way to get it perfect would be to Dyno tune it, or keep pushing it up until you begin to get ping, then back it off a couple of degrees. Tim

    2f squared

Yup, it is definitely PG13. I don't know about y'all, but I don't go to see movies for the reality....that is the point of movies...reality break. Just let yourself get into the movie and don't wory about the accuracies of the movie. If I want to see something accurate, I'll watch a documentary on TV. Just my 2c worth....FWIW Tim
  21. Pete, Yes I got the pre programmed processor from Bowling. What box did you use? Will I be able find something locally, like Fryes or Radio Shack? Is there a picture somewhere that I can take with me to show them? Tim
  22. What did you guys use for a box, or enclosure for the completed board? Is it something that I can find locally? I can't seem to find any info on the box at any of the websites. Thanks, Tim
  23. I've had: Ostrich elephant Hippo Zebra Crocodile Various game birds Impala Springbok Kudu Waterbuck Warthog and probably a few other things that I can't remember. Problem is most of the stuff was cooked in sauces so that the flavour of the meat was masked somewhat. Tim
