  4. Guys, quit hijacking this thread with non-technical, inconsequential to the technical conversation stuff. This thread has the makings of some great info, so please start a new thread for the Knotts topic, or add to the other one running currently. Thanks.... John, Chelle et. al., back to your regularly schedules programming.....
  5. I am using one. Bought it from summit for ~$8 (I think). I have it mounted in the old ashtray area. I love it. Tim
  6. I have a full size optima sitting on it's side (posts facing forward) behind the passenger seat. I have the battery cables grommetted through the tunnel. Tim

  10. Others that like this!!! lol!! (warning....NC17 click!!)
  11. I have some in both metric and SAE, but I don't have any that pivot like those
  12. The pre-made sets are notoriously bad fits. I bought a set from them that had the Opti side complete, but was un-connected on the plug side so I could cut them to length and terminate them myself. The kit comes with a neat cutting and crimping tool that makes it completely idiot-proof (as I have well proven). I have used MSD wires exclusively in my high performance engines, and I have NEVER had an issue with them. (I use regular parts store wires for daily low performance stuff). Just my 2c......
  13. Just be aware that the ones on sale do not have pivot hinges on the ratchetting end, they are solid. I think its worth the extra $$ for the pivot...
  14. damn!!...tools I don't have yet....guess I'm off too sears!
  15. Anything with 1600HP can't be all bad
  16. rufus, 3rd muffler. Nothing galvanized there. All aluminized exhaust tubing, which ground off and cleaned at the wels locations....(See Mr. Coffey...I learned something from you)
  17. Riiiight!!! Actually I did not have to buy any tools bummer!
  18. 1 step forward, 2 steps back! I had to remove the in cab tank so that the Leather Suburban seats would fit nicely, so I just decided to use the 2 saddle tanks as primary tanks with a low pressure transfer pump. Well, to do that, I had to remount the high pressure pump to be lower than the side tank, which meant I had to re-route the exhaust (1 inch from pump to exhaust was a little close for comfort), so here is the new exhaust system. Twin 2.5" into single 3", all mandrel bends and lots of welding! Old rusty system that exited in front of the rear wheels: New system that goes over the axle:
  19. Good post Larry!! One comment though. Tools, storage buildings etc are capital investments that can be ammortorized over a lifetime (providing good quality stuff is purchased), and should not be charges wholly to the project at hand. I look at projects as an excuse to buy tools This does give the newbies an idea of what they are getting into though!!
  20. Will you be paid tax free? I believe that after 6+ months, you can get at least a very low tax rate.
