  1. I would have thought she would take it as a compliment......aghh women these days....
  2. Depends on whether its synthetic or mineral. Use the search function please....this has been discussed ad nauseum, and Grumpy Vette has made some very good contibutions (as always)...
  3. Larry...a function of too much multi-tasking......all fixed now
  4. Look at Eastwood's site. They have some stuff specially for glass: http://www.eastwood.com/jump.jsp?itemType=CATEGORY&itemID=597
  5. Usually the intake and exhaust valves have a different gap (intake tighter than exhaust) so double check that. Crane should be able to give a cold setting, but if not, set them .035 and warm it up, then reset. To set lash by firing order, get # set of rockers, rocking (ie intake closing, exhaust opening) and set it's opposite counterpart. Then move on through the firing order... Tim
  6. Depending on what SBC it is (year, make model), and since it's stock, you will likely not have a problem with it....unless it's an LS1, or something of a newer vintage like that..... The fact that he's running a T5, makes me wonder if it's not from an older model, thus, being stock, it's likely not gonna be much of a race....
  7. safety schmafety......just hoist it about 2 feet off the ground and don't crawl under it. If it does fall, not much will happen.....
  8. For way less than that price you could get this, which allow you to get cold air from in front of the radiator: http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=VOR-4GH112-050&Ntt=lt1 intake&Ntk=KeywordSearch&N=110&PartSearchFlag=
  9. My car has never been appraised, but is insured for $20k. When I had my little with the "Z meets Z-28", the damage was $3500. The car would have 'totalled out' at $1100, but all repairs were done and paid for without the insurance company batting an eyelid. Farmers insurance rules!!!
  10. Just be carefull!!!! When you turn the 'adult content' on, there is some pretty hardcore images......
  11. Awesome pics!! Thanks for the post!! Great pic of Nelso Piquet's old Brabham!! He (next to Senna) was always my favorite driver!!
  12. Why, Just hoist it and pull the pan.....
  13. Come on now.....this is just normal conversion stuff. Oil pan should only take 10 minuted to change, plus you can trial fit it with the bad pan. BTW...do yourself a favor and get a one piece rubber pan gasket....they are great!!!
  14. Pot calling the kettle black, old man!! I think that you're old enough to be mah daddy.....
  15. Use key words like "Solid axle" etc. Whether it's a 8.8, 9", or GM flavour, the mounting is gonna be the same. A few guys here have done it..... Search for posts by Mike KZ. Here is his website: http://members.tripod.com/SnowSurfer/mikekz1.html

  19. Awesome man....great feeling isn't it?!! Let's see some pics now!!
  20. You are absolutely correct, John. At the end of the day, it's just an animal. I have my 4 year old son trained to ask the owner if it's a "nice" dog first, then kneel down about 4 feet from the dog and wait for it to come to him. That way the dog never feels threatened.....
  21. Scottie never ran the GNZ on a road racing track... Some of the changes necessary to fit it under the Z might have compromised its performance (roll centers especially). Agreed, however, as compromises go, I still think that this was the better of all the evils...... As far as the variables involved (in order): 1. Strength 2. Reliability (closely related to above) 3. Versatility 4. Performance for intended purpose 5. Easy of conversion 6. maintenance (parts availability)
