  1. I wonder if one could use the 1/2 shaft with the 5 hole flange that bolts to these stubs, (240sx, Z31??) and take the other end apart like the guys are doing for the Z32TT R230 diff axle mods, and install the 5 bolt flange on both ends of the 1/2 shaft. Then have a adaptor made like you would with the other diffs for the companion flange. ?????
  2. Rags, that may be the hard part, or the easy part.... just take some leg work. I'm sure its possible.
  3. you won't find a genuine HKS that cheap... there are a few smucks selling "JDM" HKS parts that are simply china junk passed off as genuine name brand stuff. The bottom line as allways is, you get what you pay for....
  4. What effect does this play on a LSD? Leith, I have a 4:11 R200 here in Lake Charles, La. that I can send you to do the install for me. As long as it gets set up properly, with no whine or gear slop, I'm in for your deal asap..... Please PM me with the details. thanks joel
  5. I just happen to have picked up a set of oem Gnose hinges off ebay last month.... Now all I need is the Gnose....
  6. This has to be one of the best I've ever seen. Check it out. you won't be disapointed.... http://videos.streetfire.net/Player.aspx?fileid=59FFAE68-EDF3-4217-B0B7-C009DBB45B03&t=top&p=1
  7. Well' date=' as you can see, I didn't go the weld up the hole route. What I was able to do is tap for a 3/8 npt, and put a alum plug into the pick up hole.... CLICK
  8. They are available for sale, you just have to find someone that will get it for you... They are held on by 3m tape that will not let loose without bending the part up trying to remove it.... I belive the run close to $100 new.
  9. Thats my next hurdle to get over Jamie.... I was going to tap and plug the block' date=' but I don't like the idea of shavings getting in the oil galley. Here are a couple pics of what I did today. I will use a 90 deg instead of the strait fitting, and that should clear everything.... Click on the thumbnail;
  10. I laid my Tomei metal RB head gasket ontop of a F54 block I have, and its a NO GO..... way to many things don't line up for it to work. Now I can confirm, that the head bolt pattern / bores are in the same location on both blocks, making it abit easier to find a tourqe plate for honing....
  11. :lmao::lmao: Nice pics grumppy, but what the heck does that have to do with wiper motors..... :lmao::lmao:
  12. Good question; The biggest reason in my book is, the dampner on ANY RB motor is a wear item/part. They only last so long. I don't know about you, but after dumping well over $10,000 in this motor, I sure would hate to depend on a used up wear part to last any longer. If the oem damper were to fail on us guys that have spent a ton on making these motors as reliable as possible, it can, and has, taken out the oil pump, which takes out the oil system, which takes out the motor..... As I see it, its like having to change the W/P or oil pump when you rebuild a motor, so might as well change out one more wear part that plays a important roll, that most don't think about.... Thats my explaination of what does it do...
  13. Another area of concern should be the firewall / a pillar area around the rear veiw mirror / top door hinge.... Looks like it took a good lick right there...
  14. The car itself looks to be pretty rusty, but I'd love to get my hands on the Gnoze part of it....
  15. I just had this hand delivered from James. Its the 800hp version, which has a smaller rear pully, to go with the W/P pully thats provided. The only gripe I noticed after the purchase, is that this damper has no timming marks etched into the part.... other than that minor issue, it looks to be a kick a$$ part. CLICK ON THE THUMBNAILS FOR LARGER PIC
  16. the weight I've been refering to is not the weight of damper, but what adding a trigger wheel to a perfectly ballanced part will cause as far as ballance goes....
  17. I too have spent a ton on AN fittings I will be using here shortly. I also took a look in a big rig truck supply store and they had bins of steel AN fittings in every config one could need, and at a far less cost than alum.... but they aint as purdy, and they rust..... Is that supply store you mentioned PESO, or PECO?
  18. ahh... that clears that up...... Welcome aboard Jon. I know you have some RB experince to add here, so stick around awhile.... joel
  19. Michelin has stepped up in a big way, offering refunds to all the fans that got ripped at the F1 GP in Indy. Way to be, Michelin! Refunds Offered for U.S. Grand Prix Ron Green, a spokesmen for the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, discusses the announcement by Michelin that they will refund tickets for fans at the U.S. MICHAEL CONROY June 28, 2005 5:12 PM EDT INDIANAPOLIS - Tire manufacturer Michelin offered Tuesday to refund money to those who bought tickets for the U.S. Grand Prix, which was boycotted by seven Formula One teams after the company decided its tires were unsafe at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Michelin also said it would buy 20,000 tickets for the 2006 race to be given to those who attended the June 19 race during which only six of the typical 20 drivers participated. "Michelin deeply regrets that the public was deprived of an exciting race and therefore wishes to be the first, among the different groups involved in the Indianapolis race, to make a strong gesture towards the spectators," the company said. Indianapolis Motor Speedway spokesman Ron Green said the track was not notified about the refund until 30 minutes before Michelin issued its statement. "We're very encouraged by what they released today," Green said. "Finally, they're acknowledging that they will provide for the fans what the fans deserve. That's all we'd hoped for." Green said the speedway expects to be asked to administer the refunds. He told fans to "sit tight" and await more information. Green said all fans who purchased tickets would be eligible for the refund. Reserved seat tickets for this month's race ranged from $75 to $150. The speedway does not release attendance figures for any of its races, but media reports estimated the U.S. Grand Prix crowd at 100,000. Michelin's refund offer for this year's race could cost the company about $10 million if 100,000 ticket holders seek refunds at an average of $100 each. A similar average ticket price could cost the company $2 million for the 2006 race tickets it offered to buy. Two Michelin tires failed during practice sessions two days before the race - one causing a wreck that prevented Ralf Schumacher from competing. Nine of the 10 teams, excluding Ferrari, proposed to run the race if a series of turns was installed to slow cars on a high-speed part of the course. Ferrari and FIA, the sport's ruling body, rejected the possible compromise, with FIA president Max Mosley saying he would not change the rules because some teams brought the wrong equipment. Michelin said it believed the FIA's decision was "totally incomprehensible and reflects a lack of respect for the spectators." "The reality is that together, Michelin and its partners have done everything possible to assure that the race could take place in total safety," the company said. "We are extremely disappointed that the proposals made with all our teams were not accepted. These proposals, including a chicane, were technically viable and totally met all safety requirements." 20. If your close enough to go put you eyes on the parts, I'd give it a going over. There may be something there worth buying.... wouldn't hurt...
  21. I just spent all the time my body would allow me to this a.m. removing all the intake and exhaust manifolds, and parts that were temporarly put on the motor for the return trip back to me. James did a nice job on fabbing it all up for me, then installed it all temporarly. I will reinstall it all back sooner or later, but with all the Tomei metal gaskets. I also did this work today so that I could mark the area on my air con comp bracket, that needs a hole drilled thru it to allow the external oil pick up fitting. Its going to be fairly easy from what I see. Then I still have to remove the new reg oem oil pump on it now, to replace it with the Greddy oil pump... After I bore the hole in the bracket, I will snap a pic for the archives, in case others may want to do this later down the line.... As far as the ATI damper, mines a off the shelf one now also, its just the race version rated a bit higher rpm than the one below it. I would have just bought that one, cause I'm not planing on using this motor to its potintial. I can't see needing this version dampner, its just James got them at a fair price since he bought in bulk, so I got it for the price of the lower rated damper. I may be able to do as you are with the trigger wheel, since I will not need the outer pully. I hope to mount it there, its just the ballance part that worries me with adding the wheel to a ballanced damper....
