  1. For those of use that want 12 cylinders of fun, M120.980 from an R129 600SL. Included: If it was originally bolted directly to the motor in car, it's on there Starter A/C Compressor PS/hydraulic pump Smog Pump all ancillaries, etc. etc. full of oil and whatever coolant was in it still. Also has full intake and exhaust mani's and electronic TB. Flexplate was on the motor but Torque Converter back was not. Pics and information courtesy Roncallo from peachparts. This work is his. FWIW, the R129 is a front sump design by the W140 (S600) was the mid-sump design.
  2. Josh is right. The ass of the car is hideous. Maybe they consulted bangle after BMW Dispatched him?
  3. The SLS AMG was designed alongside the new viper during the old Daimler-Chrysler years. When they separated and Chrysler went bankrupt the new Viper went away and what you see before you is the remaining example. Whenever you find a new Z car that will have a 6.2L, 518hp dry sumped motor and weighs close to what the 350Z weighed, you let me know Edit: From wiki: 350Z Curb weight 3168lbs-3602lbs. SLS AMG Curb weight: 3600lbs. If you look for it, you can find the SLS amg underpinnings in spy photo's sporting some rather poor fitting viper body panels.
  4. I know he lives in Indiana. Know how I know? There's a giant black dually pickup sans tailgate parked nearby.
  5. is the person his father warned him about...

  6. Yes. If you get on here and multiple people have confirmed it fit, it probably will. If you're still scared and need a 200lb torque wrench or a hand, I live in Jasper, I'll come help you with it.
  7. The very first year of the Holden in the states (2004) brought the LS1.
  8. I love 20b's. This thing should run. I wish these motors came over to our shores, it would make getting them so much easier.
  9. It was in the for sale section, I just remembered it was there
  10. It works Here in fact is an LS carbie in an S30 with no hood bulge.
  11. Or it's like pouring salt in an open wound when you realize that even if the car's resale is half of original list, you're still not even close to owning it...
  12. But what about when you look to beef it up? You've got to pony up for 2 more pistons, 2 more rods, 2 more holes bored/honed, 2 more injectors, if you get the cams reground or you buy new cams it will reflect that you're paying for 24 lobes of aftermarket as opposed to 8 lobes. I did a bunch of searching on this end and it's why I've got an odd-ball I6 instead of an odd-ball V8... Those costs add up quick.
  13. I have a feeling that you can buy multiple SR's for the price of a single RB has something to do with it. I could have an SR powered fleet of vehicles for the install cost of an RB26.
  14. W124's only came as a 5 speed for the 300E in 1986 and 1988 in the US. In Europe they were very plentiful throughout the 85-96 range of the 300/320E , even with the M104 motors. I have the 717.432 5 speed box with a 190E pedalbox, which is bolt in. Aside from the box, clutch, and pedals, a manual front drive shaft and x-member has you out of the misery of the slushbox. I don't have anything too cool for it, but I am modifying the ASD system, which is a hydraulically locking rear diff originally run through the ABS System in ECE cars. With any luck I'll have a cabin adjustable lockup on the fly with the clutch LSD out back. But for right now it has the most terrifying thing I've ever seen in my life, Bosch Electronic Constant Injection System (CIS-E). Priority 1 is throwing it away for EFI. I may add a camshaft and 600cc's of displacement while I'm at it.... Look at it, it's horrifying!
  15. Wow. Well it's nice to be finally done with the MCAT! Maybe I can start tinkering with my Z again. In the meantime, I've come to the realization that I'm going to need something like a DD so I can play... That said, my 1993 190E Sportline in the oddball color of Signal Red/Cream Interior (not the 90's hideous tan) I've already 86ed the gaudy chrome wheels and the things in the air right now because apparently "since it's a Merc", the only thing done to it in 180k on the clock was change the oil, and that's iffy. After this weekend it'll have all new bushings/ball-joints and I just got all my clutch stuff in so I can toss in my 300E 5 speed. Do I ever hate slush-boxes. It wouldn't be as bad if this one wasn't toast and instead of changing it the cheap PO just tightened the TV cable and ramped up the line pressure.... Unfortunately, I have caught myself in a bit of a conundrum. I like where the Z's at, and at about the same physical dimensions (weight included) as a 280ZX 2+2, I kinda want to see what she'll do. Thoughts? Before you write this car off as an ostentatious fat taxi, you should seriously consider spending some seat time in one. Even for a stock sportline, I was very pleasantly surprised how well it handles.... I'd really like to know how it's going to do without a half inch of slop in the steering links
  16. Always glad to keep Datsun's moving. Next time I'll bring spares and a torque wrench. Glad you didn't blow your OBX though. Now Imma have to get one.
  17. They're good guns. I'm not a fan of the 9mm myself, I have a big ol' hand and the bigger 45 size frame guns fit me better, but for a 9mm/40 frame I think it's one of the better pointing guns this side of a CZ-75. If you like it, go for it, I doubt you'll be disappointed. Don't load +p+ loads and run through it trying to shoot major (which wont happen) with a 9mm, but ball ammo and certain HP's feed reliably and ammo's usually cheap.
  18. I have never seen any FE UZ heads flow anywhere close to those numbers. If the FSE head really can produce those kind of digits on a UR engine it should be a screamer. I'm guessing from the performance figures even with those quoted head numbers is done with itty bitty cams. This seems to be the case now adays, I'm seeing Merc, Jag, Toyota, and similar go to better and better flowing heads with smaller and smaller cams. Not that this is a bad thing. And playing with a motor with no aftermarket support just makes it that much more satisfying when it's done, especially with the calls to the tech dept of various aftermarket companies only to have them be like....what's that? You sure that's a real motor? Why don't you just put in one of them supra motors? (Literal question asked to me by an un-named piston company)
  19. Triples the power output in 1500rpm? Seems really useful.
  20. This is HybridZ, we don't halfass anything! If you're gonna do a panda design make it look like a panda.
