  1. That's a pretty car. I'm not even a red fan and I like it. Specs?
  2. And you should all know by now that it doesn't take some silly animated movie with some people tossed in for ****'s and giggles to inflate the Dime market to absurd proportions. IMO, it's already there.
  3. I'm sure there has but none come to mind. IMO It's gonna look really funky with that much rim on that small of a car.
  4. And here's the reason that this thread is probably going to get shedded. Nothing wrong with the question per se or the answer, but you're just going to end up with everyone telling you what they want to do to the car because it's the best for them. It's your car do what you want. Listening to HBZ sometimes for technical advice or learning what does or does not break, etc. etc. is usually a solid plan but you're not going to end up with your car and, IMO ultimately you'll not be as happy as if you did what you wanted to do. If you cant figure out what to do with your car before you've even started there's an extremely high chance you wont make it through to the end. Take some time, sit down, think'bout it, and find what you want to do and what excites you. If you're not really motivated about what you want to do the car you'll most likely never see it all the way through. Just my .02
  5. Not important. This thing is just clean, I'm not sure how to describe it. I'd also really like to have a dry sump system for mah cah's.
  6. I'm trying to come up with a list of things that would be cooler than a 3 rotor in a Z. Yeah, I'm drawing a blank.
  7. That's not too horrible for a 9mm at 10 yds. Past that getting to 15-50yds is just trigger discipline and body control. You'll get it, just have to run enough ammo.
  8. RD only has 12 valves. Superturbo Diesel Oh yeah, get a motor out of an W140 s-class or get the oil pump/pan out of a W140 S class. Any OM603/6 or M103/4 pan/pump will work. The pumps are all OM part numbers anywho. Reason being it's mid sump, most Merc's are front sump.
  9. SHHHH... People here like to do mean things to mah cah'. Madkaw lives in Indy and has a very clean 240 and his daughter is down here at IU with her S130T.
  10. I'm not sure why you'd want to though. A KA/SR trans maybe, but you'd just nuke the L series tranny....
  11. I've seen the 2.3 8v handily spank a CIS 2.6 just with a movement from CIS - EFI. Oh well, it doesn't matter. and it's not my place.
  12. [mbmoment] 190E 16V 2.3 Cosworth w/efi over CIS. Anyone who doesn't think it wont hang with a 2.3 E30M3 has never driven one. Provided the CIS is gone. Also can he had for a third the price of an E30M3 [/mbmoment]
  13. Records: 9 people (3 6'3''+) in a 1963 mini estate. That said, the question I get with the Z most often is either, and I'm not joking, "Is that a Camaro?" and my favorite "How fast will that thing go?"
  14. 2k for a piece of furnature that amounts to 4 warped sticks with a big ol' piece of veneered particle board on top? We're in the wrong business gentlemen.
  15. Old datsun pickups are the definition of cool. What about a Chevy Luv? Such a cool little truck
  16. There are adapters out there to mount them to the porsche turbo (snail type) transmission and there have been a few conversions to other transmissions. I've never really been a huge V.A.G fan (does anyone else find it funny that IPB censors that?), not sure why, but these little motors are really cool. You'll be a little better off than me in this country finding performance parts, but still (sadly) less than others. I also feel there may be some sump issues with these? I have no idea where the sump is but they're slung all the way in front of the axle. If it could be put in there with a decent transmission, go for it! Search teh interwebz for adapters, I'm pretty sure there's an R154 adapter out there somewhere, I wouldn't waste my time with the audi boxes, some of them can be fiddley and you'd have a needles front diff casting taking up space.
  17. This has to be the annual "I feel we're just as important as the other motors and should get our own little section to rule ourselves" thread. Here's the problem: Count the number of cars on here with Nissan V8's of ANY flavor... I will promise you that JUST the amount of RB25's, JZ's, or 302 Fords will eclipse that (with SBC's doing so exponentially). There isn't enough of a population to warrant the VH/VK/Vwhateverelsenissancooksup to be separated from all the other lonely, odd V8's prowling the streets. I'm not going to go on. I can only assume this exact topic in a thread title of something very similar is again going to come up sometime next year. The logic must be rationed.
  18. Your room tells you what color it wants to be? Apparently the good stuff is in the PNW.
  19. But as a body guy, having a car that looks a little nasty isn't exactly good for bid-ness... I think that's where they shoe-box idea popped up. Who knows. I could definitely see an older S10 or Blazer, but clean/ well worn.
  20. Aside from the size and body type, everything. It's kinda scary. Music, family situation, relationship with my father, my automotive background ( I still do body work and used to work as a mech in HS.), hell even my mom... YOU'RE IN MY LIFE... Anywho, if his taste in cars is anything like mine, he's going to have a huge soft spot for the pre-suez oil crisis cars but at the same time become frustrated with owning one because of all of the un-needed attention one gets. It will reflect what he likes to do but not be so ragged out that he can take it anywhere. Best guess would be something from the 80 or early 90's since they're new enough to perform well but old enough to be relatively forgotten amongst the public, without garnering the unwanted attention of the 60's and 70's era vehicles. If he's anything like me, his love of cars sprang from his father, even though he wants to distance himself from him, he'll end up with a semi-similar taste in cars. Though i could see him in an old shoe-box chevy. I cant explain that one yet.
  21. Heh. That describes me shockingly (scarily) well apart from the tight shirt and I'm 7 inches taller. I have my early 90's merc w201 because nobody notices it (especially the fuzz) and it stops me from getting constant questions about cars everywhere I go even though it handles very well... I personally think he should drive something like a late 80's early 90's sedan. Something sporty and unassuming...
  22. Interested. Can you send me a PM on this info, I'd rather not clutter up this thread? I'd really like to know how you like this setup.
