  1. Woah. I leave for one semester to get a Mercedes and at least attempt to get into med school and everything goes to Pot on HBZ. The old farts are rambling about the good ol' days again without actually providing and constructive or otherwise useful information other than it has been done before and the young kids are not only getting a sense of entitlement but a sense of indignity too? Sheesh. Who are you? What even gives you the right to believe that you can break the rules and that you are above them? Look, I'm the same age as you are (to the day) and I understand your plight. The English language has been undermining the 20 year old college kid for years. It doesn't help that using that damned search button takes hours of time to get that little snippet of information that the original poster may have taken years to learn and you simply cant be bothered since you have more important things to be doing with your life. I mean, why should you ever have to work to present your information in a manner that reflects respect for the amount of time that others have accrued when you should just get everything you ask for? It's the modern age for Chrissake, where we get whatever we want when we want it and any basal level of effort should be seen by the general community as showing at the very least above average effort and/or intelligence. It should be understood that in this modern world the only person that matters in the whole wide world is you. That is to say, that uselessly cluttering the forum with incessant whining about how you should not have to waste your time creating some intelligible statement so that you can waste our time (and presumably creating more bitter people that get tired of sifting through claves of ignorance) should not only be expected but embraced! It is only logical. You're 20 and you've most likely got plenty of leftover testosterone raging from those turmoil-filled teenage years that you just need to rid in your now maturing (physically) self. What better way than to shatter those blasted rules into tiny bits while you assert your newly gained manliness over the infinite spaces of the internet? Just because it takes a village to raise a child doesn't mean the entire village wants to. I'm sure that if you're unwilling to spend those precious moments of your time to facilitate use to spend precious moments of our time, you're more than welcome to figure out everything by your self. And just so we're clear, the First Amendment to the US Constitution (don't worry it's some stupid thing a bunch of old people wrote a long long time ago in this time called the "18th Century", which as we all know is a myth since the world started with WWII) states this: Lucky for us, HybridZ is not run, sponsored, supervised, or bailed out by these United States and their wonderful elected administrators. Though it is likely that some arm of the US Government lurks regularly. Rumor has it that RTz is or was at one point active CIA. Who knows. That said, nice try and thank you for playing, but the First Amendment and guarantee of free speech has no extension of its coverage into HBZ. Thank you for playing. Cliff notes: Put on your big boy panties and act like you're moderately capable of caring about others as well as yourself or find the door and learn to do it all by yourself. Completely your choice. I'm not perfect and I've made tons of mistakes on this forum. I'll admit them (sometimes not with the humility I should have, but that doesn't mean I'm not working on it), take whatever retributions come with the ramifications of my actions, and move on. So, I'll learn how to improve my Datsun experience but also how to become a more personable individual. It's win-win.
  2. Pfft. I've always liked this thing more than the '104. Except: I don't even know if it will fit. i really wanna see pics on this It's expensive. I'm pretty Broke. Finding parts for this motor in this country would be roughly impossible.

    Land train?

This would be great if the Zombie Apocalypse ever rolls itself around. Imagine the wreckage you could just roll over! Just bolt your house on a trailer, AA guns on the other two, and go to town!
  4. By FAR my favorite I6. If I had the cash I'd be doing this swap too. Can't wait to see the progress on this!
  5. That's exactly what my car used to look like. keeping up wood in an Indiana climate is nearly impossible. I WANT THOSE BUMPERETTES. They're damn near impossible to find.
  6. Whoever designed CIS-E Should be strung up and flogged.
  7. Awesome. I'll have to find some pics of the day when the Mini was still a woody.
  8. Well that depends. For some reason some group of german engineers figured out what parts will never fail during the life of the car. These parts are very cheap. All other parts that have a replacement interval are expensive, yes.
  9. I'm not sure your turbo is big enough. You might actually see the thing spool before you hit the rev limiter JK. Looks great.
  10. It's darned near impossible to make an f-evo look like an evo. Something like having little std mb wheel houses instead of the huge-by-large EVO houses, usually leads to them looking really funky. Besides the point of a Benz is to maintain the appearance of something my grandpa would drive What about the old 81-83 RWD 910 Maxima's? (They called them 810 maxima's in teh us) 4 door 280ZX and more or less immortal. My parents put just over 300k on theirs before they got rid of it while I was growing up. You've even got spare parts for it!
  11. I'll vote german... A nice E36 would be quite the neat little gadget. They always seem to be just out of my pay-grade, but one cant deny the competence of the E36 chassis. I just picked up a 93 190E 2.6 sportline, which I must say is a great little car to DD. Leather reacaro's (sourced from the 16v), buttery smooth I6 (26-27mpg roundabouts), and suspension/brake upgrades consist of pillaging bigger E classes. For a 2900lb 4 door luxury car, well, it's light (for a benz) and it's pretty nimble on its feet. They can be had in 5 speed manual or 4 speed auto, which is nice too. Keep the oil changed (in the trans too if it's and auto) and do the scheduled maint (which is surprisingly simple and striaght forwards) and it will most likely run until Jesus show's up for a second go-round. Mine is red, but imo it's a handsome little devil for a taxi company
  12. Interesting. Apparently I'm in my mid 50's if you discount the chick at the register thing. 'round these parts, most of the fodder at the register look like they could do with a dental visit and some exercise.
  13. cockerstar, why are you a chem major? I'm microbio/bio chem and I'll say the first semester is easy, ap classes have it covered. Most jr/sr classes suck though don't worry.
  14. I'm interested to know why 1 and 2 are running really cool compared to the back 4. I'd expect something a little closer than 175 to a max of 550, as well as why 5 is running at least 80 degrees cooler than the adjacent cylinders. Seems backwards to me.
  15. That's a pretty gnarly cam right there. I like it.
  16. If SU's cost 2k to put on a car, I don't think many people would be running them. Find a carbie fuel pump, get a 240Z intake with some SU's, talk to Ztherapy about rebuilds and rejets, bolt the suckers on there and go have fun.
  17. Mat does TR ever use you as an arm rest?
  18. The unfortunate thing about the way disorders work is that is completely chance. There are millions of people in this world that do the same things over and over again, only some get cancer. I wish that in biology there was a black/white line that we could definitively say it will or will not cause x to happen. No such luck. And I never said I was against antibiotics used for their intended purpose. I'm against antibiotics used in livestock for the soul purpose of weight gain for slaughter. I'm not sure that many can comprehend the number of resistance cassettes and recombinant dna that's put into the environment by that. THOSE are what cause problems. I also believe that doctors over prescribe antibiotics before doing cultures as a result of the current legal environment (you don't prescribe fast enough you get sued. You prescribe and it leads to some issue the durg company gets sued. Someone HAS to get sued or it isn't the health care system). Only 10% of bronchitis cases (for example) are bacterial. How many times do you get an antibiotic for bronchitis? Antibiotics do nasty nasty things to what they were designed to kill, and personally I don't want them in me unless I need them (even though they have selective toxcicity towards eukaryotic cells). Just remember that immunizations and antibiotics are VERY different. One is a toxin. The other is usually an avirulent/attenuated strain of a disease so the body can produce an immune response. Either way, food for thought. My best wishes to him and to your family.
  19. I'm 6'2'' no problems. I've also had a guy that was 6'6'' that drove it and he was pleasantly surprised at the space he had.
  20. Go spend the <50 bucks on a mechanical Oil Pressure gauge. I got tired of being afraid of no oil pressure so I just stuffed it in the clock hole. Turns out that halfway up on the gauge was something like 70psi and that idle at "zero" was more like 20.
  21. Campaign to stop stuffing our meat supply full of anti-biotics to raise cattle yeild and stop using synthetic preservatives in food. /rant. This comes up about once a month in all my micro classes and it annoys me. I'm really glad to see your whole hearted support for your daughter like that. I wish the local community was as devoted as parents.
  22. Just so we're on the same page, you are aware that most 240's didn't have a passenger side mirror, right? And that appears as if someone was determined to single handedly prop up the body filler market...
