  1. There's one over in Tampa. Kind of rusty but anything is fixable. $500 http://tampa.craigslist.org/pnl/bar/774211898.html I don't think I agree w/ this. "Body just needs a basic strip down and restoration with a few patches welded in here and there. No major rust (I run a paint and body shop, so I know... that's why we went through so much trouble to get the car). "
  2. Happy Birthday and congrats on getting it running.
  3. Going from a No Therm, to a 160, to a 180, I noticed a major jump in idle performance. I'm sure each engine has it's optimal operating temp.
  4. Life is like a box of chocolate.... some of them taste like absolute crap!
  5. Jeff, is Joe on the same page as we think? What CAD file? Is that Just for the flange itself?
  6. Curious if anyone subscribes to a decent Turbo magazine and what's the title? Good tech articles or just specs of cars with a bunch of advertising? I know there is a mag called "Turbo" but was curious on others.
  7. Too funny! I was like no way, Speeder got busted wow!
  8. Lacquer thinner. Very ligthly and very quickly. If the old paint underneath is solid you should be okay. Then a nice buff and wax.
  9. Agreed, however, I think it would be worth while to ask if the per item rate is as low as they could go. All we can do is ask.
  10. I'd do just the opposite. Get it running and not look pretty. I think you have a much better market with a running car then you do with a nice looking car that doesn't run. I also think it will be much more work for the body then the mechanical / electrical. Besides, you'll learn something new, not what you already know.
  11. Good Point, that question needs to be asked. Maybe a special rate is negotiated for this, us, HybridZ? I often wonder what is defined as a good market for something like this? Curious on what a yearly count of NA headers would be sold through MSA?
  12. I wonder what the group buy price will be? I'm thinking it will be close to $400 at a minimum.
  13. In my opinion, buy for the future. If you know you will be going down that path and you have the money, go ahead and do it.
  14. I blame the idiot drivers for this one. I'd just as soon have the COP bitch at me for not pulling over fast enough and park somewhere safe, then park where I've seen some people. But I've also seen where the above happend and the COP just pulls in right behind them. If I were a COP, I'd tell them to move to a much safer location. Doing my job would not be worth getting killed for.
  15. In my opinion, you should be paid full for the header by the group. This way if SSAC mysteriously makes your header disappear your covered. I would not send a thing until you receive at least 90% of the funding. The other item is, if SSAC can't make it, the group would be refunded any money put in. I think this would be more than fair to everyone as long as you get the header back. I would also suggest that as people donate, you ask for the 3-5% for the paypal fees.
  16. Thanks for doing this for the Group. One thing you may want to do first is do a mock up to ensure we want to go forward. Not sure if you have motor to try it on but measurements w/ stock parts would be great. Keep us posted and thanks again.
  17. VinhZXT via PM told me he wants $800 for it. He has not tried or mounted it up either to check for any clearence issues.
  18. That's a good idea. I'll throw in some cash if the price isnt too high.
  19. Post some pics too! Hang in there, I think you will be quite happy once you get it going. Everything I've read on the swap seems very straight forward. If you get stuck just post a few questions, there should be a ton of people who will chime in and help out.
  20. When I first wrecked my Z I stored it in a Uhaul type place or one the big brand ones. Anyways, I explained my situation about the wrecked car and we kind of got to know we each other. Long story short, i was able to just about anything at this place. Worked on getting it cleaned up and all the old damaged parts off before bringing it back to my house. The PM wife actually helped me clean some of the dirt up in the garage itself. Try and find a younger couple that does the property managment, befriend them, buy them a few gifts and see what you can get away with. Good luck.
  21. Neither BRAAP or jmortensen or Johnc or Mikelly
