  1. yeah, its a 280zx 2+2, i should be done by the end of the week. As for specs on the box, its built around a single infinty kappa perfect 10.1, (i made a 2d cad model of the sub, and designed the profile of the box around it, with VERY tight clearences, so this box will not work for very many subs). Its built from 1/2" mdf, should be very stealthy, has a volume of 1565 cu. inches, and is sealed. Mine will be wrapped in vinyl to match the interior, and will feature a cloth grille, also color matched to the interior. It does not take up the entire width of the hatch, so later when it warms up this summer, i'll fab some fiberglass panels to stretch from the box to the sides of the interior, and also cover the amp.
  2. by fiberglass do you mean styrofoam?
  3. although i have no experience whatsoever with this, i have read here that using the n/a afm will have this sort of problem. Is this a 83 n/a or turbo afm?
  4. the angle/length of the hatch definately is. Anyone ever fitted a coupe spoiler to a 2+2?
  5. Well i'm in the proocess of building one right now. The box is made of mdf, but i will be molding it in, and making an amp cover out of fiberglass. It should be pretty stealthy when complete. Will post pics when done, however the fg portion won't be done for a while yet.
  6. I am in the process of building one. I designed it in autocad already, i can share the dimensions if you'd like (first of all i need to find a way to convert teh acad file to something i can post)
  7. referring to mine? although i'm not crazy about this pic, it shows how the paint is almost pearlescent:
  8. While on this topic, anyone seen a spolier for a s130 2+2?
  9. I'm about halfway through my stealth sub box build, but i need to concentrate on speakers for the front too. I just am not too sure where to mount the front speakers. Its a 2+2, and theres speakers on either side of the back seat, but from the bit of research i've done so far, when buildiing a stereo system, you should concentrate on whats in front of you. I don't want to uses the factory front speaker location under the dash, as it looks like it would be a bit of a pain to access, and i would also loose bitching betty. I don't want to cut into anything either, so mounting pods in the doors wouldn't be all that easy. It doesn't look like thered be enough room for kick panel enclosures, as the ecu takes up lots of space on the driver's side. What have you done, and what are your recomendations? I don't think i'd be able to fit anything much larger than a 4 or 5", which means the speakers would be fairly directional wouldn't it? -Max
  10. WOW! I knew he was doing up a rav4, but didn't know it was gonna that extreme. But i guess after his 240z, and 240sx, that should be expected.
  11. I think i remember seeing one of those in my 83 n/a while wiring my stereo.
  12. Heard that JOKE a few times before. Doubt its a true story, definately not made up by the seller. Funny none the less
  13. Also made this: from this: Amazing what lowering a car can do. Full size image can be found here: http://album.hybridz.org/showphoto.php?photo=13566&size=big&cat=
  14. here a recent photoshop contest entry for a local car forum. Was neck and neck for 1st for a while, now i'm in 2nd. and the original
  15. I'd be willing to spend up to a grand on that including shipping (when i actually have money). That looks spectacular.
  16. Those seats are gorgeous. They arn't factory are they?
  17. I have the diagram in both my owners manual, and haynes repair manual, but my car is missing the notches in the rockers it shows in the diagrammes. The car is pretty much rust free, so i can't see the rockers being replaced. Unfortunately the scissor jack bends the rocker every time i use it.
  18. Here is the supra i almost bought last summer: better looking that a z31 i think. However i'm glad i never bought it, as 2 weeks after the deal fell through, he turned the boost up one more psi to 17, and the motor blew sky high. Started with a blown head gasket, then rod knock, the cracked head and exhaust manifold.
  19. I cuncur. If you want to make some money, this sounds like your best bet. Hell, cover up the turbo noises with a wistle exhaust tip or something. Just make it look like a hand me down.
  20. edit: after watching that vid, that guy pisses me off. raggin on I-6's in general is one thing, but ragging on the 2jz? I'd say the best japanese 6 cyls were inline, not v configuration. Example 2jz and rb series.
