  1. Nicely done! Love the color and attention to details.
  2. Welcome to the forum. A simple search for 'fender mirror' gives all the information/pics you'll need.
  3. No worries, man. I didn't get to ship it until late yesterday and didn't want to hold you up any further. Glad you got it ok... and also surprised at how fast.
  4. Got it, thanks. I've got your hat/bushing in a box and will ship it Tuesday at the latest.
  5. Denny, I'm going to my friend's place to pick up a spring compressor tomorrow around lunchtime. When I get back home, I'll pull a hat off of a spare set of rear 280 strut assemblies (need to spring compressor to get the hat off) that I have tucked in the corner of my garage. I should be able to send it out to you Monday or Tuesday... just need your address. There's no charge for the part or the shipping.
  6. I wish I had one... I would share if I did. Denny's just asking for a stock 280 rear hat. I don't have any q45 parts.
  7. Hehe, I was wondering if you remembered who you got those msa bumpers from. Glad your project is coming together. It might be next weekend before I can get that hat, but I'll try to get it Sunday, if possible. Send me your shipping address via pm and I'll get one to you as soon as I can.
  8. When you say top strut bushing, are you referring to the hat that sits on top of the spring? If so, I may be able to get a spare from a friend...
  9. Stock 280Z front Springs compared to Suspension Techniques springs: As mentioned above, the new springs lowered the front of my car 1.5". With a v8, it might be slightly lower.
  10. 280Z Springs - stock vs. Suspension Techniques
  11. No problem. I'm happy to help if I can.
  12. No problem. The while-i'm-at-it syndrome gets you every time. The part numbers for the cartridges are HZ3012 and HZ3013. I don't remember which is part number front or rear. I bought them from Victoria British, but have since seen much better deals on ebay for complete sets (around $200 compared to over $300 from VB/Black Dragon Automotive). 13. I lowered my 280Z a year ago using suspension techniques 280 lowering springs, tokico cartridges, and msa bumpsteer spacers. I also took that opportunity to replace the ball joints, tie rod ends, and a the sway bar bushings, as well as do a little cleanup. This lowered the front and rear about 1.5". Some pics of that swap in this album: http://www.imagestation.com/album/pictures.html?id=2122587659 JCWhitney.com was selling these springs for around $150 a little while back. I paid over $200 for mine when I bought them. I can only speak for the Suspension Techniques springs. I've seen msa and tokico springs installed and thought these gave a better overall stance. I have them on my 240 and my 280. The hat swap is only for the rear, as the front hats can replace the taller rear hats if you have a spare set. This takes off about an inch, if i recall correctly. I've done this swap several times on Z's and can help out if you need. I can get a spring compressor, too.
  14. I use this gasket and won't ever go back to the multi-piece style. I've also had the pan off with the engine in the car.
  15. I've also had zero issues with this mount, running a 200-4r behind my 377. I used plates on the top side as mentioned above. I'll be using the same mount on my next car.
  16. Welded adapter to companion flange, bolting the cv's to the adapter. All you have to do is pay and send a set of companion flanges to Ross at Modern Motorsports. That gets you the adapter welded to your companion flange and all necessary bolts. Lots of people here are using them with success.
  17. No problems with heat-ups. I have a friend that has two cars with the same setup as me. One of his is a drag-only car. He's using 26x9.5 hoosiers for that car and has no issues with heating up his tires. To clarify on how I raised the rear of my car, I'm using 280 rear strut assemblies with 240 suspension techniques lowering springs and 240 hats. This is fine for slicks at the track, but daily driving results in the occasional dips in the road and the squelch of the tires rubbing. My plan to resolve this is to go to coilovers to get a stiffer spring. I could probably just replace the hats with 280 hats, but I like the stance as it is... and want to get some 17's for daily driving.
  18. Those cv's will fit in your r200, yes. And the previous owners or a curious potential buyer may have simply removed the diff cover to check the ratio. Your cover will fit, but I think that question piece also simply unbolts from the existing cover.
  19. There are some good pics of the Z31-style adapters on the modern-motorsports website. I'm using these on my 240 and will soon purchase them for my 260. The quality is excellent. http://www.modern-motorsports.com/catalog/product_info.php?manufacturers_id=&products_id=56 The 280ZX-style adapters are done similarly, but the adapter that's welded to the companion flange is different. For both adapter types, the flanges are countersunk into the adapters and then welded. http://www.modern-motorsports.com/catalog/product_info.php?manufacturers_id=&products_id=5 Some better pics of these on Scottie's webpage: http://home.cfl.rr.com/scottiegnz/gnz.html
  20. I use 26x10's on my car and had to raise the rear slightly, not lower it. My wheels are 15x8 with 4.5" backspacing on the back. It still scrubs on some dips in the road. Fender-rolling is a must. The coilover upgrade is recommended for that size.
  21. Have you rolled the fender lip at all?
  22. Cool Car... Johnny number 5 is alive...
  23. If you like death cab, you should also check out the postal service... same lead singer. Good stuff.
  24. JTR sells the radiator for $140... https://shell7.tdl.com/~jags/Pages/Parts_DATZ_Radiator.html
