  1. i've had bad experiences with jim cook racing, especially jim's wife when it came to a refund for an item i ordered that arrived broken. from my understanding talking to his wife, they were moving out of the z car business.
  2. they do fit with the jegs kit, but they sit really low. also, they are s&s headers. you're better off buying direct from ssheaders.com. part number is 5205. and if you're interested in getting them coated, get them done elsewhere. i'm not impressed with the coating on my set.
  3. if you've been in email contact with him, you should have a phone number in his email signature. call it in the morning before you get there. i bought a cowl induction hood from him recently and he was always very responsive to anything i asked. if you've made previous arrangements to meet with him, i'm pretty sure he'll stick to that unless something major has come up.
  4. i want to finish the new 377 engine build for my 240, finish the interior in my 240, get 280 body work/paint done, get current 377 in 240 in the 280. then there's also that coilover upgrade and the ccw's i want...
  5. he's correct on the offset. i have 15x8 weld rodlites with 4.5" backspacing on my 240. i was previously running 255/60-15 bfg's (almost 27" tall), but they rubbed when i hit dips in the road. these will not fit with stock suspension. i swapped my rear suspension for 280 assemblies with 240 suspension techniques lowering springs. a 240 suspension assembly with a 280 rear spring will also give you the needed clearance. otherwise, you will have to go with coilovers. the rubbing got annoying and a 245/60-15 would not have rubbed in my case, but i went with a 26x10 mickey thompson sportsman pro.
  6. checkout this site for answers to all your questions about the swap: http://www.700r4.com/faq/faq.shtml i swapped from a th350 to a 200-4r and everything i needed was there. check out their wiring made ez and tv made ez kits.
  7. consider me in as well. '78 280. thanks!
  8. very nice!! i love titans and definitely prefer the solid color, as opposed to the chrome bumpers/grill. i hope to buy one next year.
  9. as stated above, they can still be bought from msa and they are still the same price they have been there for the past six years that i can recall. shipping, unfortunately, was $90. it's a huge box they ship it in. i saw the one on ebay and almost bought it as a spare for my next car. kenny, i still have the pics you sent me two years ago and am using them as reference for mounting my new air dam on my 280. thanks again!
  10. i just bought another kaminari spoiler recently to put on my 280. i love it. more pics in my imagestation album.
  11. i dont think anyone here has reported using those sideskirts yet...

  13. the carb linkage is what gave it away for me. at first, i thought it might be a different car, as tory used to have anodized red moroso valve covers and air cleaner top. paul does all his cars with that linkage and even bought the rods for Tory to do the same. we did my car the same way. bimmerman, as for the initial question, the jtr kit would definitely be the way to go to get the engine further back and lower. it should be pretty easy on that car, as the only thing that stands out with the hooker to jtr swap on that particular car is getting the drive shaft shortened, longer radiator hoses, and possibly longer transmission cooler lines. i'll be in conyers this weekend doing suspension work on my 280 if you want to meet up and talk shop. you should definitely come and check out paul's (the z guru in your area) 240 drag car.
  14. i know that the 3.54 is good. i know someone that will trade a 3.70 r200 for it that's also good.
  15. that car was supposed to come with a 3:36 r180 and a 3.54 r200 from tory.
  16. i know that billy kittle(?) at pro1 in conyers did the short block. it's a 400 block with 400 rods, 0.30 over. nothing too special, but it was done right. it's a complete holley system max kit with holley heads and lunati cam. supposed to have a 10" torque converter with the t350. the tranny was freshened up before it went in the car. i know tory didn't drive it much. i also know the front springs are rear 240 springs and the rear springs are 280 rear springs. he got a lot of incluence on that car from a friend that tory and i have in common: paul corson.
  17. that car looks familiar... especially how the engine is set up. you buy the car from a guy named tory? the position looks like where the hooker/scarab kit puts it. you can slot the front mount location to slide it back a little. what kind of wheels are on the car?
  18. that was my first guess, too. when i asked, however, the locals told me it was due to sars scares.
  19. those masks are pretty popular in china. i saw them everywhere in beijing a few weeks ago. i snapped this pic of the girl with the mask and happened to get the girl with the gloves in the same frame..... the masks and gloves were popularized in china as a result of the sars epidemic.
  20. the owner of that 240 must work at home depot. i see it there too often. i saw a yellow 240 around noon today on windward in alpharetta and a brown 280 on north point parkway in alpharetta around 5:30 pm.
  21. yes. i recommend reading up on this site: http://www.bowtieoverdrives.com/index.shtml you will find details about tv cables and what speedometer drive gears (based on differential ratio and rear tire size) you will need on this site. very good reading for anyone wanting to install an overdrive.
