  1. I read an article on this today on cnn.com: http://www.cnn.com/2006/TECH/05/25/invisibility.cloak.ap/index.html Interesting stuff...
  2. This part is a little cheaper through courtesy nissan: http://www.courtesyparts.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=CP&Product_Code=999M1-S30ZR
  3. This has been covered a number of times, but a few of us are using S&S headers, part number 5205. Check them out here: http://www.ssheaders.com/streetrod.htm .The main problem with these headers is ground and firewall clearance. The transmission hasn't been a factor and I've used a th-350 and 200-4r.
  4. Glad I'm not the only one with multiple Z projects. I can feel your pain, guys... 73 240Z - Car is currently sitting due to blown head gasket Engine Currently getting parts together for new 377 sbc with 6" rods and Vic Jr heads. I already have everything for the short block, but need to get it balanced. Current engine will be put on a stand, where head gaskets will be replaced and bearings checked/etc. Interior Still trying to decide on seats Exterior Waiting to get my Beta Motorsports Cowl Induction hood fitted/painted 78 280Z - Current Daily driver Suspension/Brakes Brakes were replaced with stock replacement items, with the exception of using stainless braided lines. Replaced the 3.54 r200 with a 4.11 r180 from a nissan pickup. Engine Replaced injectors and installed JSK fuel rail and aftermarket fpr. Interior Needs new carpet, headliner, seats... badly. I also need to replace my speakers that were stolen a few weeks ago Exterior Have side skirts, rear valence, and kaminari front 240 spoiler. The 280 crash bumpers have been removed. I have a 240 bumper for the front and will use no bumper on the rear. Need to replaced passenger side dogleg. Planning on BMW blue paint- undecided on interlagos or mystic blue. 74 260Z - I recently purchased this car. It's mostly apart now, as was bought from someone who had it in a paint/body shop where very little was done and the owner is planning on moving to Russia. I'm currently working on getting it running so I can get it into my garage and out of my friend's shop. Future plans Painless Wiring 12 circuit kit, subframe connectors, Modern Motorsports coilovers, upgraded brakes, z31 axles, zg flares and 17" CCW's. Undecided on engine... but may MS my leftover 377 and use my spare 200-4r. Also planning on BMW Steel gray for color. 85 Chevy Van Planning on getting emissions tested and selling asap. Too much paint and body work pending...
  5. Hmm, I'm pretty sure chevy blocks mostly come in two or four-bolt mains. I'm not sure about this five bolt deal you of which you speak. Please try searching in the appropriate forum for this information (brakes, wheels, suspension, and chassis). It's been convered many times.
  6. Nice on both... What kind of muffler are you using?
  7. Then you have to add what's under his hood:D Nice additions, Dale! Did you section the struts? Those 240sx brakes look tiny behind the 18's...
  8. I'm using rodlites, and have previously used draglites, for plenty of street driving with absolutely no issues. Paul Corson with the silver car/blue flames from reynold's also uses these wheels on both drag and street cars. he's never bent a rim either.
  9. That does suck... I have a set of fiberglass fenders that i recently decided i'm not going to use. I can't imagine what shipping would be to you, but let me know if you're interested/pm/make offer. Otherwise they'll be going on ebay sometime soon.
  10. Very cool. I love 510's, especially ones done as nicely as his. I also like the fact that he uses it as his daily driver.
  11. I cant speak to specific numbers just for the headers, especially since I also upgraded cam, intake, carb, and exhaust at the same time as the header swap. I went one step up on the cam and went to an open intake, as well as switching to duals. The old exhaust went from the shorty headers to 2.5" pipes to a y-pipe to single 3" exhaust with a flowmaster muffler. The newer exhaust is the long tubes with dual 3" pipes and borla mufflers. It definitely feels more healthy at higher rpms than before. My seat-of-pants dyno guesstimates around a 25 hp increase for all changes.
  12. I had to massage the floor a little bit to be able to connect the exhaust smoothly to the collector. Other than that, it helps to have the engine out to set the headers in place...
  13. do a search for S&S headers. the part number, i believe, is 5205. i've done this swap... and it gives you less ground clearance. pics in my imagestation album linked in my signature.
  14. i have one of john's 4" cowl hoods and it's a GREAT hood, extremely well made. i hope to be getting it painted soon for my silver car. here's a couple of shots i took after setting it on my 280.
  15. ^^ ditto on the coilover question. if no on coilovers, how close is the tire to the spring perch in the rear?
  16. very nice. i was thinking about those wheels for my 280, but with painted centers. now i'm pretty sure i'll be doing that.
  17. it's not just for hooking up: www.myspace.com/nullproject
  18. i've seen these pics before... it makes me want a 240sx. i had not said/thought that before seeing them...
  19. that was during an older version of the forum software. my post, the second, did show pics of buZy's car at the time. not sure why jeremy was trying to post my car...
  20. as already stated, do a search for 5 lug conversions. there's tons of info.
  21. you can buy that hood brand new for less than $500 from jc whitney.
  22. very nice! wish my 280 looked that good.
  23. nice find. i recommend buying them uncoated, tweaking if necessary, then getting them coated locally. since mine were already coated, i persuaded the floorboards to make room for the collectors with a bfh. i've stated before that the coating from s&s isn't the best quality. love the headers, though. i'll be buying a new set soon for my other project.
  24. my 15x8 with 4.5" backspacing fit fine without flares... it's the tires that stick out.
