  1. nice, you just made a big bumper look good. double thumbs up on that one
  2. ahhh! thanks for the info! will give them a call sometime on monday as that sounds like a good price, well within my budget. but when you say everything, sensors, flying leads, 2bar?
  3. looks good, are you going to leave them white or repaint? they would look really good in black or gunmetal. good deal too, I love it when those come along.
  4. Believe me I'm not making my decision on how many "votes" I get, I'm just trying to get actual users to tell me their experiences, positive and negative so that I can add a bit of info into my final research. I've looked at the TECIII and ruled it out because it was too expensive and expansive for my budget. I like the SDS units, but they can start to get a bit pricey when I look at the exact unit I want to run, plus the fact that I cannot use a laptop with it, only the hand controller. MS was a possibility early on and I even came very close to ordering one, but just could not get past the fact that it really has no customer support. Sure there is the online FAQ and manual, but if something goes wrong or she doesn't start I dont want to have to poke around the board with a multi-meter trying to find out what "I" (or whoever else may have assembled it) may have done wrong. I'm the type of person that does years of research and planning ahead before I buy anything major. tech specs and ability are very important to me, but user experience is at the top of the list as well. thanks for the replies everyone, keep the info coming!
  5. im counting PM and offline votes as well.
  6. WOW thats really cool! they make them in 17s too. I think that would look plain sick for those of us that are going to a resto-mod or updated vintage look. these just might be the wheels I've been looking for! just plain cool.
  7. this was last year when I heard that, I also heard that there is no longer US tech support for haltec. (?) the person that told me about this (besides me reading about it on this board) is a friend of mine that has one of the fastest turbo Z cars in the state, along with one of the most original restored real RHD fairlady Gnose cars. he's no slouch, and knows his stuff so I take his word seriously. of course he is just one person, It would be wise of me to get several perspectives and weigh each one against the other. im trying to be an educated consumer.
  8. well gang, the time has finally come and I would like to make my decision by Oct 29th. specs on the car: painless harness T04B 60a/r 370CC SVO injectors kamikazi FP aeromotive regulator large FMIC 2.25 piping for intercooler 3 inch exhaust HKS MBC stock engine I would really like to see 250-300hp out of her while being incredibly reliable. I don't have a laptop, but could add a cheap used on into the budget if need be, although I do like the microtechs handheld controller and ability to switch maps on the fly. I feel for those power levels coil packs and associated are not really needed and I cant stick with the 83 turbo Dizzy. feasible? I've also heard that haltec's US tech support blows, and their product is sometimes finicky...havent heard anything bad about microtech though. I would really like to hear from actual users or installers on this on as its a large chunk of change for me to dish out and I want to make sure I made the right decision for me. thanks and goodnight. EDIT..just wanted to say that YES I searched and am still searching. going through all the info presented to me. just wanted an opinion on my particular setup! microtech VS haltec GO!
  9. haha, thats funny! I reallly was expecting the music to change and see some real "shining" moments.....cant say if i would like that or the way it is, either way though....
  10. yeah burns i'snt cheap thats for sure. you didnt mention "affordable" in your request though. when I get a chance i can look through the JCW catalogue. Im pretty sure I've seen it there.
  11. surprisingly....JCwhitney, and burns stainless: http://www.burnsstainless.com/AluminumTube/aluminumtube.html
  12. here are a few more from this afternoon...
  13. hey thanks Gollum thats a great compliment. I've been into photography for about 15 years now. I still have a great deal to learn and experience but feel I get lucky every once in a while. thanks again. I will look through my stuff and post a few.
  14. well, I bought this Z last month with the intentions of turning her into a daily driver. today, I sold her. but before she leaves with her new owner I wanted to share some pictures I snapped today. enjoy!
  15. man that picture always makes me laugh. "free candy" classic.... wasnt it the kids parents that wrote that on the side?
  16. love the bimmer sedans, talk about FANTASTIC handling cars. had the opp to ride in a race prep, but street legal (barely) 1800ti and it was amazing...unfortunatly though the car met its end in the carrara panamericana by driving off a cliff and into a tree @ 80+ MPH.
  17. haha, thats the first thing I thought as well... "I wonder where he got that sheathing...looks cool." well, spill it man.
  18. ouch....biatch! how did you know I wanted those? I tell you what....I've been debating on ZG flares for a long time on the orange Z...well you already have ZGs on the green Z...SOOOOoooo if you give me those Ronals, then I will have my excuse to install ZG flares, thus restoring the ZG flare balance in the Z car universe. eh? eh?
  19. your bright green wheels with a blue lip....sweetness! : puke:
  20. yup, thats the stuff im talking about.
  21. oh dont get me started! for such a large conurbation, Bexar county/San Antonio, has very few knowledgable AND open minded shops. Alamo performance and Alamo Hot-Rod parts are the only guys I can deal with and tell them what I have. when dealing with all the others I have to know what part im looking for and tell them that I the car that the part goes on. If im looking for multiple parts I just tell them I have multiple cars, otherwise I get the ole' "that part wont fit on your car" speach. BS! My personal favorite is when I call a local import place about parts the carry..."umm yes we carry brand XXXX part." me-" ok ill be right there" only to find that when I get there by carrying it they mean "here is the catolog, we can order it for you." well....SO CAN I! and probably get it cheaper as well. bah, all in all though my projects are accepted the Majority of the time...its just those few occasions that bother me. longest post in a long time....sorry
  22. there are shops around that can do midnight chrome work. problem is, as was stated previously is that its not as hard as true chrome and will chip, fade, peal and SCRATCH rapidly. two stage powder coating may be the answer...you would be wise to take some sample parts in first to multiple coaters to find who can give you the look your asking for. Mike, You want to anodize everything...... and do they make semi transparent anodizing? another possible sollution is to paint the car in that new "chrome" paint thats been posted up here a couple of times. Paint the part in that and then smoke the base, then build up a clear. I'm no painter, but its sounds possible to me (someone step in if I'm wrong please) anywho...good luck.
