  1. oh that is sad, I really like the GTi, every style, first gen to the last gen. I don't know if I would be pissed at my friend for video taping the entire thing while my car burns, "thanks for the help a**hole!" I guess in reality there isn't much you can do with one of those wimpy little fire extinguishers, especially with an under dash fire in a modern car where you can't see or get to anything. always wire your vehicle properly people, don't half *** it, and carry a decent size extinguisher. also, if you see smoke...call the fire dept. immediately! that much damage may have been preventable (although fires like that spread quickly, especially with all the doors open! I'm preaching, but I almost lost my Z to an electrical fire caused by P.O. wiring modifications.
  2. similar problem on my old sentra, turned out to be the maf. could it not also be an overheating ignition module?
  3. long one goes on the drivers side, short one on the passenger side.
  4. woh that looks really good.....congrats on a fine looking Z. why are ZG flares soooo purty?
  5. anybody know the current status of Jim and his Ziper? Im curious how the car is coming along...
  6. I'm running a 3" pipe straight thru that dumps at the differential..no muffler. I personally love the sound but think It might just be a little too loud for the local PD. (I have not driven the car enough to be harassed yet) once I get the car going again for daily driver duty I will reevaluate my exhaust setup and consider installing a borla bullet muffler in the stock muffler position, canting it at an angle to reduce bend radius....this is only a plan
  7. http://www.big-boys.com/articles/japtalentshow.html what the?! thats crazy...how do people develop these "Talents" anyway....I would never have the time to work that routine out....
  8. geezum-peas!! that looks fantastic. I like the way that the wheels no longer are the first thing your eyes see on the car, with the centers black, the eye now can focus on the entire car at once...im seeing little details that I have not really noticed before because of it! once again, thats one mean, seriously kick arse looking Datsun Terry.... zweetness
  9. wow, doesnt seem like its been three years..enjoy the first drive! be sure to post some vids eh?!
  10. screw the cars, those girls are yummy! especially that really cute all smiles girl with the bimmer. subtle cute......whew!
  11. I always liked the Dahlback Golf myself. 900HP and a bit more subtle than that one. http://www.eurotuned.com/media/Volkswagen_nolinking/Rs1-900hp-dalbach-mk4.mpeg sweet!
  12. wish I could help you out but I just did a google search for that info, I've never done business with them before. When I shaved my old plymouth I went to Dakota Digital for all my stuff.
  13. Hey Austin, I personally like all of them, each have their good points, each have their bad. Personally, I love the RB engines, BUT if i was a younger person(which i happen to be) and if I didnt have a kick as highpaying job (which I dont have yet) then I would avoid anything that wasn't available in the states. The 1Jz might still be an option because of its sister engine being available in the lexus and toyota cars. I'm not sure what all is shared amongst them, so I cannot help you there. Which one is more common(or had more production) the 7m or 1jz? that might be a determining factor. I know you like to drive your cars, and you do have a daily driver so your not Reliant on the Zed, BUT do you want to wait for ever to get parts? and then pay more than usual? what's the cost on the RB's now a days? The last rumor I heard was that supplies are now drying up and the market prices are starting to reflect that. I could be very wrong though as I don't have any RB experience, merely hearsay and conjecture. are you ditching the SDS? Can I ask why, and how much you want for it 8)! I love the idea of a 1JZ, or RB powered Z, and would probably lean toward the 1JZ. Have you looked into buying a NA 2JZ and building it for boost? that might be a cheaper option in the long run......maybe?
  14. wow, that sound! incredible...... gave me the shivers!
  15. nice! why didnt i see this thread earlier? I will be keeping an eye on this thread as i am in the process of researching a new engine for my fathers 62 P1800. I was going to just throw a 8V turbo engine in it but that requires that you cut up the firewall and possibly the trans tunnel. I figure that if im going to go into all that trouble anyway, I might as well build a 16v. I looked into having a company in the NW build me one and the quoted me 10K + just to have it built, that wouldnt include anykind of engine management! anywho, I figure with that price they just dont want to do it again, I talked to the owner of the shop and he said it was a P.I.T.A. well, Following this thread for sure and would love to get as much info as I can from yall along with build up pictures! also, any suggestions on the P1800 swap would be great!
  16. I saw those pictures in the MSA albums and was wondering where you picked up the piece, is it the same one that the company in europe made for a short time?
  17. HA! that car has terrible proportional balance...who designs these things? its a little bit neon in the front end, a whole lot of couger, a bit SVX a tiny bit of TT, and a whole lot of nasty. damn thats a ghetto bootie if i ever saw one.....I guess its still a chicks car.
  18. haha,,,,,20! you could build an ultra light or short flight go cart with those things. Was it a super sale? or a website messup? either way you could ebay those things for a crazy profit!
