  2. anything happening? My GF has to do some training and I've got to play chauffeur for those three days. I will have alot of time and be bored out of my skull...I need something to do! lunch, dinner, a ride in some Hybrid Z's you know...the usual. anyone have any ideas or want to make something happen? drop me a line or give me a call if you do! laterZ Stephen aka Sparky 210.273.2145
  3. thats a beautiful car! inspiring even! thanks for posting that picture, its now in my screensaver rotation...makes me want to work on my Z!
  4. Simon does incredible work and is a stand up guy. He always was quick to answer any questions I had regard his or my turbo swap. always inspiring to see the car
  5. tempest does good work and have some really fast cars running around MD....at least thats what I here. A ex member here had his civic built there.
  6. wow Seth that looks great! Nice colour choice as well! when do you plan on having her on the road?
  7. "you boys like Mexyco!" meow thats the law.
  8. I had a professor talk about the "sign" or symbolism behind such things and he actually talked about a vinyl appliqué that you could adhere to your vehicle to give the appearance of non conformity by going "off road." very interesting psychology behind such things, although it can be a bit depressing as well. spray on mud = lame10?
  9. alot of the e36 M3 guys use high mass shift knobs...the "rob knob"..or atleast that what i remember (been a long time since i've kept up with bimmer stuff.) anywho, most of them really liked it... Im certain that there is such a thing as too light for a knob, as well as too heavy. you must experiment and find the right feel for you. Im using a sparco ball knob that weighs in at around 12oz, Its the heaviest one I've used so far and also my favorite. the previous knob was around 3oz and it sucked! the shifter just felt weak, and flimsy and tended to let the shifter lever buzz at certain speeds....new knob, no more more buzz.
  10. thats more than understandable, wish I could help more. good luck eh!
  11. I get several of those a week..... sick and tired of it!
  12. count me in as well.... this is the first I've heard of it, but would love and I mean LOVE all over a set of 16" Rewinds. keep me informed!
  13. San Antonio Pick N pull has several...where are you located? P.s. what are the specs on your car, it looks mean!
  14. sweet jebus Jamie that looks fantastic. I'm suffering from engine envy...
  15. the proportions are all wrong, the arse end is too high, is it also a little stuby for a Cobra? what kit is that?
  16. that guy has the most beautifully trimmed bearded-clam I've ever seen, And I've seen alot! its just most of the time their not on some guys face!! besides that though, 90+$'s is 90+$'s, I would pursue it as long as the additional costs didn't exceed the original amount. good luck, hope this all turns out to be a misunderstanding.....my feelings are that when he learns his picture and name are up on the web he will start returning phone calls saying it was just a "horrible accident"
  17. well, I never had them on my Plymouth and I was pulled over all the time (because the local PD are apparently not trained very well and have no idea what classic registration looks like....('69 tags) I was never hassled for my lack of windshield wipers or side mirrors, or marker lights or door handles, the only thing they didnt like was again, my lack of a windshield registration sticker. For what its worth, the inspection station I was using at the time admitted to it being a problem, but overlooked it for five years. there are thousands of shaved rods in H-town, they are driven infrequently and rarely get pulled over and ticketed. Most officers are very understanding when it comes to custom classic/vintage cars. form over function. they really only have a problem when your daily driver accord or SUV doesn't have its side mirrors. but in my opinion there are so many fantastic mirrors available in the aftermarket its silly not to have atleast one. you can attach them to the drip rail, or even get those little stubby aero mirrors that I see used on some of the JDM rides.
  18. one of the GRM challenge cars was a BMW 2002 that had a set of widened stock BBS wheels on it. they had the entire process documented online somewhere? what they did was to take one pair and cit them up, slicing a band from the middle-ish part of the wheel, then they cut the other two and welded in the band, machining it down. to the best of my knowledge they did'nt have any problems autoXing on them...you could probably search bimmer.org or classic2002registry for their posts.
  19. haha, oops, Guess I wasn't meant to respond to that one eh? sparks/sparky....oh so close....duh!
  20. wow, I was expecting the typical install but yours is super clean! love how you used the stock bezels, how did you do that, what all did it take? I blew off the thought of using autometers because I never like how they looked installed! I never thought of mounting them behind the stock bezels though. very nice
  21. thats horrible! the most disproportionate hunk of crap I've seen in a long while. it will never sell.
  22. at the time it was still under construction and in multiple colours. the guy building the car was name harley, a really cool guy with tons on skills. beleive it or not the Ls1 fit under the stock hood, of course the firewall had been moved back, and partial floor pans fabricated. the only body mods he was planning were rear fender flares. If I am remembering correctly, he was from georgia or NC and planning on moving back from San Antonio. do you have any info or pics on the green one?
  23. drool X 5billion! a 65 roadster is on my list! almost bought one with a LS1 crammed in it about four years ago...to bad it just need to much finishing for me at the time. I will have one, and it will be just as gorgeous as that one.
  24. cool, are you going to shave the marker lights and antenna as well? also, what colour are you going to paint it? I'm located in San Antonio at the moment until I finish school. I'm thinking there is a Z show coming up in Houston sometime in the summer. Its possible that I will make it to that one if I can get my car back together in time.
  25. very cool, hope the installation goes as smooth as possible. when are you going to shave the handles and install this kit.
