  1. So I gues the cars made it through the riots alright. I used to spend weekends in Manama over from Dhahran back in the day. I grew up there for about 15 years. We brought our 73 240Z over, it was red to DHA. now it is back in the states somewhere. The raw water over there ate the car up pretty bad. Lookin good. I still hunger for a Shwarmsas all of the time. No good places here in Houston.
  2. Thank you, sir. I am also contemplating adding the electromotive xdi system, and a knock sensor system by j&s electronics to help safeguard me. I just want it on the road for now.
  3. I have my motor torn apart. All of this is because I found some leaks out of the head gasket ( 31years old). I am currently running a E31 head, that has been reworked, o-ringed, racer brown cam, valve job, and other things. It is on a P30 block from a 260, with custom made Aeris pistons that is balanced and blueprinted. I have a Turbo Tom kit on the car with water injection which I am gong to start using methanol in it instead. Gasket suggestions? I have not been able to find out what the differences are between the P90 head gaskets and the gaskets for the E31. If there are differences in a turbo vs. non-turbo gasket. I know that the motor was built for low compression to be able to run high boost. I believe 7.5:1 or 8:1. Can someone tell me if I put a 1mm gasket on the block will that further lower compression? What gasket should I use? Sorry for my ignorance,I have used the search function.
  4. I like some of their wheels, but too small for my taste. I know that is old school style and all, but if they had them in 16/17 I would seriously consider...
  5. The manifold is currently getting re-welded, and we are clearing out some places at the intake flange that were left there. I want to make sure that I get all the air the turbo has into the wheel. I found a place that does thermal coatings and will have the manifold, hot-side of the turbo, and the downpipe all coated. At the same time I am getting the intake and valve cover powdercoated as well. Another instance of " I might as well" while I have it torn apart. I think I should have the engine bay completed once this all gets put back together. I am looking forward to seeing what this will put down on the dyno once she is all back and runing. I have hopes and asperations for hight 300's to mid 400's but I am not sure.... We are going to be using Methanol instead of water for the injection system so that should help, along with the increased air flow out of the manifold to the turbo to help it spool. Who knows.... I am just looking forward to be able to go out to my garage and take it for a spin when ever I want......
  6. Well it is back from the dead. I have moved the car out of the garage and went on a little road trip to my friend's shop in the northside of town. The head has a leak and is getting removed. Since that is happening the turbo mani is getting welded where there are some cracks. The turbo is has been sent off to a place in Vero Beach, Fl. to get rebuilt. I have made a trade and will be putting back my original seat, but newly covered, restuffed, and good as new. For my set of Corbeaus that are currently in the car. I should have the car on the dyno late next week and on the road shortly there after. The brakes are getting worked on. Changing out the rear dif fluid. I put in new plugs prior to the road trip. The car sat in my parent's garage for almost 2 years while I built a new house and got settled in. Not to mention get into the swing of things with my daughter ( just about 2 years old) The car is slowly being brought back from the dead.........
  7. CDT's Restoration. I spent about an hour talking with the guy. He does resto work, as well as collision, but mostly resto. he is on 1314 between 59 and 45. Pack a lunch cause it s a long way from you. But if you are coming up here then it might be worth it to drop by. Just be prepaired, he likes to talk..... I am bringing him my car to give me a quote on what my costs would be. I would pull the motor and tranny, maybe interior. The windows would be pulled and new seals all the way around. But it will be a little bit before I do this.... seeing as how the housing market sucks, which directly effects me.....
  8. I found a place off of 1314 that does resto's. I am fairly impressed with them. Now I just have to save up the cash. I will either go with the original color 820, or go all out with a white or black. Still undecided. I am #806 or 1/70 so I will not cut up my body at all. I am the second owner and have everything from the car ( bill of sale, spare, and seatbelts.... but a beast under the hood.....
  9. Are they still good to buy from?
  10. Check out justmagnaflow.com they seem to have some good options on exhaust set -ups. I used them on my IS300 to source some parts. good prices as well. Things go to a low rumble when using a resinator, and a muffler. no restrictions with the straight through stuff. Ground clearance might be an issue on the S30.
  11. Where have I seen this yellow z before... was it on ebay?
  12. Turbo Tom kit, staying on. It has Corbeau seats, but I am not opposed to refinishing the orig seats. Rb 17" wheels are planned. I am keeping the mechanics all old school. It has never ben wrecked.
  13. I have #806, 1/70. Not the lowest but not that many I know of that are lower. Is it really going to make a differance in the value of the car if I paint it another color? Or should I paint it the original color and potentially get more money? There are only two other options that I want the car painted. Blanco Polo White ( lambo color) or a Dark pure black. Anyone know if the value will be less for an aftermarket paint color with a vin # so low ?
  14. Any other pics. It looks like it is a front airdamn, moulded to some oversized ZG flares. A One-off job.
  15. Where did you get the paint for the exhaust mani? I am in need of freshening mine up....
  16. John have been trying to get me to get the car up to Jeremy to do some work. we will see. I need to get it to my house first.....
  17. I was wondering who's 240 that was in the AutoFab gallery.... I REALLY need to get my 240 over there........
  18. So when is this party? and where in FL? I might have to make a special trip out there to drool in person...
  19. Where is Moyer Located? Here locally?
  20. I have a Racer Brown cam, it is very noisy. So much so that I thought something was wrong with the topend of the motor.....It is on a L24 with a Turbo Tom set-up.....I have some youtube videos up if you search "turbo tom"
  21. You can always put something in vynil on the car, that way you can take it off at will......
  22. Who is producing the wheels for you? Are you going with a 3-piece, 2-piece? Are they going to offer the wheels/pattern to the public? As always your projects are top-notch...
  23. That is a lot of weight added........that is totally not necessary. You can accomplish the same look with 18" wheels, the right, tire size, offset, or just general fitment in a tire and wheel package. Yeah it is great to sit on the corner and boast that " I have 19" wheels on my classic Z." But when push comes to shove you will have TONS of sacrifice reguarding drivability, stopping, acceleration, and mpg...... but hey if you are into that thing then by all means go ahead. If you chose to do it then get a QUALITY WHEEL. Iforge, DPE, JLine, HRE, Volk, Ray's, something good I had a set of 19's on my IS 300 that were Ray's...It looked sweet but man was it a pain in the ass....
  24. Any current videos of this thing at idle or driving?
