  3. I totally interested. Give me a call 565-2866. Thanks dude!!

  4. Let's just pretend you can get a good condition RB26 longblock for $2,500 then. RWD Transmission will run you 1,000-1500... depending on what you do. To get to 500whp you will need: Engine management Bigger Turbos Bigger Injectors Intercooler BOV Boost controller If you can get all of the above for $1,000... you might be close and do it with 5k just as you wished. Then the things that the forums usually don't tell you will pop up, and once you take care of the oil pan, clutch, and replace things here and there (water pump, oil pump, timing belt, etc.) you will be over the 5k, assuming you don't have to spend money on mounts, since you will need custom with either engine. But realisticly, a good and tested RB26 (R33) w/ RB25 transmission will run 4,500 and up. I think getoffmyinternet did one of the cheapest RB26 swaps you'll see. He spent 3k on engine and transmission and 4,400 on the swap. That's not counting anything else needed to be done to the car. And he is well under 500whp.
  5. Sub $5,000 swap, 500whp, and RB26DETT just don't go together. The RB26 is a great engine... and it's the one I would go for... but you won't be in your budget, specially if you do things "right."
  6. I am pretty sure I have those wheels on my 78 280z. The only thing you would need to do is paint the black inserts. But where are you located? Shipping might be too high.
  7. Wow... I had never heard of a high horsepower RB having HP and TQ numbers so close. Much less on a RB25. And the swap is incredible!
  8. Sorry for the out of topic question... but is yours the red 240 I have seen in Wasco?
  9. If you refinance but keep making the same payment, it will only take you 5 years to have about the same balance as if you didn't refinance. So if you think you will be there for at least 5 years, but maybe longer than that, I say refinance but keep on making the same payment. And if you refinance and keep on making the higher payment, you will pay it off in 23 years...
  10. I don't have pics and I'm not close to my car all day. But when you take the bumper and lower valance off, whats left are the headlight buckets only. On the bottom of the headlight buckets there are some holes. That is where you screw the air dam at. You just lift it up, put the air dam edge behind the bucket's edge, align it (a buddy helps a lot here), and mark where the holes are. Then just drill the holes, put it back on, put the screws, and you are done.
  11. The 240z BRE air dam fits in the 280z no problems. I bought the urethane one and had no mounting holes. So you just fit it to the 280z and drill the holes where they need to be. It's really easy.
  12. The reason for the RB24 is to get more displacement out of the RB20. If those people had an RB25, they would just throw that in there. And that's what I would do too. Don't get yourself into more trouble than you need to. The RB25 might be enough "rev happy" stock.
  13. Rob, how much will it be for a V12 RB65DDEETT that you are talking about? Took me a minute to understand 260DET's comment.
  14. http://shop.rawbrokerage.com/product.sc?categoryId=29&productId=50 http://shop.rawbrokerage.com/product.sc?categoryId=29&productId=232 Is this what you are looking for?
  15. 1 Bar/ 15 PSI is about the limit. So just keep it at that or less and you should be fine.
  16. They should make it illegal for those guys to buy turbos... before they hurt themselves.
  17. It's not as easy as it sounds because the pan is not 100% symmetrical. It might be possible though. I think the best thing would be with Careless' idea, making a flange that bolts to the block and allows a readily available rear sump to bolt to the flange. But since you need a machine shop for that, why not fabricate a whole new pan if you have the equipment available.
  18. Do you still have it in Bakersfield? If you are ever in town and take it out on the street let me know. I would love to see it in person. - Angel
  19. This has made my car shopping hard. I don't know if I should buy the 260 or the Ferrari...
  20. I think if I was an administrator I would have too much fun with this title-changing thing.
  21. The Z32 uses that too. Makes bleeding the clutch double the work. I know many people just get rid of it.
  22. In the description they claim it was built on a 72 240z, but the title is for a 76 280z.
  23. That's an ugly van. I hope they are extinct already.
