  1. Actually your rod has nothing to do with the stroke of the engine. The crank throw is what determines the stroke. You could have a mile long connecting rod and you would still have the same stroke if its connected to the same crank. What the longer/short rod does for you is it changes rod tangency.
  2. Jeff my zxt was an auto. and it was in the middle. My guess is its an aftermarket radiator.
  3. mechanics wear gloves or nitril. Its all you need. I do alot of side mechanic work on motorcycles like i go to there house and fix there bike and i dont always have a place to wash my hands so wearing nitril gloves is where its at for me so i dont have to get in my z and get my steering wheel and shifter all dirty!!!

  5. Um that is VERY reparable. Most people would like to start out with a car that was taht clean lol.
  6. You took the front cover off correct? If so put a 2x4 under the cam chain galley hole and start wacking with a big hammmer!! it should lossen up. You might also want to try putting some pb blaster or better yet sea foam deep creep into the holes with broken studs to losen up the grim holding the head to the shaft of the bolt. If your in a pinch i have have a set of turbo head bolts that im replacing. I dont know the history on them but just pay shipping and they are yours. But like others have said. ARP is the way to go. you can get them off ebay for like 140 shipped.

  9. Well jeff. Ive been running mine that way for 3000+ miles lol. I did disconnect the fuel injector on mine. And it will run ok and cruise at 80 all day long but it has NO torque whatsoever and hills arent my friends and i have to shift alot but it does get around. Oh ya mine uses TONS of oil also. lol

  11. Ok well im rebuilding another engine to replace the blown one in my car and my clutch is pretty much toast so im replacing it at the same time. Now im making an estimated 350-400whp and torque Im planning on buying the ACT set up NX2-Hdg6. That is with the Heavy duty pressure plate. 6 puck sprung disk in the 240mm size. Now i know alot of you use this clutch and my question is would you buy it or would you go with something different? I mainly street drive my car but i do pound on it pretty heavily. It also goes to the drag strip and it isnt a big suprise if im drifting around parking lots with my friends either. I just really want a clutch that i can launch my car with and doesnt slip and i can run my 20psi and not have it slip also. I have been searching the net and i can get it the clutch for $370ish shipped to my door. Does anybody know where i can get a better deal than that? Alright thanks for your input guys.

  14. Not that i saw. And im not sure of the glimpse on the door of the Z. Ill have to wait till its on dvd so i can pause it.
  15. So i just got back from an early viewing of the movie. It was a good movie but I didnt see any Z's in that scene. they only did like one pan over the cars and it was pretty fast and i didnt see them. I was a little bummed. But over all it was a good movie. Nothing to over the top. and a pretty good story line also. Id say go see it if you hadnt planned on in.

  17. it wouldnt last and just one chip in the clear and its going to start rusting.Not practical at all.
  18. ok you need to go get a 90 deg grinder with either a wire wheel cup or some scotch bright pad things that you can get from lowes. I stripped my whole car in a few days using the 90deg grinder. Search for a post from me about "fixing the wrecked zed" is the title i believe. there is some pictures in there of what i used. I was using a DAon my car but my compressor couldnt keep up so thats when i switched to the electric grinder worked much better in my opinion.
  19. I have a set of 14x6.5 minilites. This is a pic of them way back when they where on the car. Here is some pics of them i took recently. they are in my sisters basement so they where a tad dirty when i took these but they clean up nice with a rag. The tires on them are in good shape except for the fact that i put some flat spots on them when i wrecked the car last summer. well i think 3 of them do. Ill do $200+shipping
