  1. That sucks on the fire. But honestly from my experience with water in motors. mind you its always been jetski's and dirt bikes (yes ive sank a few dirt bikes trying to cross a river lol). As long as you get the water out shortly after its not that big of a deal. for starters i would take out the spark plugs and if you can crank the motor or poor alcohol in the cylinders and down the intake. Then fallow that by alot of marvels mystery oil. It will crawl in all the nooks and cranies of the engine and protect it. And also do that with the engine oil also. All of this is if you cant get to it right away. if you can more than likely all you will need to do is take it apart and clean it up and put a new gasket kit in it. Good luck
  2. Got my tickets for tonight also. Im so freaking stoked. ITS GONNA BE AWESOME!!!!
  3. Alright, update time. Got the zg's mounted on one side. Started the body work on the rear quarter around the wheel well on the drivers side. That will be the end of the body work that was caused by the accident which is honestly probably around 60% of the work that needs to be ready for paint. Well here are the pics again. Im really happy with the way the zg's turned out. I was afraid that my car wasnt going to be low enough since im only running stock suspension with cut springs. But it has a nice stance to it that i can live with till i get my ArizonaZcar coil overs sometime in probably the far distant future. Well its late and i need sleep. Later all
  4. 275/40-17 in back and 255/40-17 in the front. i think they would but i dont see the need. I might actually space the front out a bit as my clearance to the spring perch is probably around or under an 1/8th of an inch. Just a tad close for my liking. Ill have to do it later though.
  5. Here are some pics with the zg's mounted also. there is no way to get the rears on with out flaring. But i do believe it might be possible to get the fronts. I also believe you might be able to put the 9inch with -13 offset in the rear and have it fit. but i believe both would require alot of lip rolling and fender stretching. Here we have Grassroots motorsports mag's employee Greg Vogth actin a fool. And i wont be in daytona next year. Im moving at the end of the month. hence the rush to get my car painted. I actually live in ormond beach not daytona but people dont know where ormond is.
  6. 700 by money order or 750 by cc. But i dont think he has any left. i think i got the last set.
  7. na the brembo brake caliper covers took it to a new level.....
  8. yep sure will. Some plug it some leave it in place. Mine is still in place but you dont run your vacuum/boost source from it to your wastgate.
  9. Which set of wheels? the new ones? or my old ones? And ive looked around and i cant find the lifters. And i know they where in the box. Ill refund ya some money but idk what happend to them. I might go by the ups store and ask tomorrow.
  10. Rubber hose would work fine. You would just need to build a brace that the carbs would hang that was attached to the motor so they couldnt move and wobble around.
  11. Alright I got a bit done this weekend. Got the Drivers side door, and front fender to where i want them. Just will need to spray another coat of primer on them. I even filled in the door mirror holes since im going to fender mirrors. that was fun trying to weld patches in there but i got it done and then put duraglass over it. The roof is also ready for the last coat of primer. The big thing that took a while was the straightening of the rear quarter. I was able to hammer and dolly it back into shape. it will still need to have a skim coat of bondo on it but it will work very nicely. i only have a pic of the rear quarter all banged out so here ya go. here is what it looked like before
  12. Well i got my wheels in today and i had gotten my tires in on Monday. And well i got them mounted today and here are some pics. Also just been doing alot of body work on the car. Ive got the drivers fender and door pretty much done. Ill got to fix a few spots but its getting pretty strait. I cant wait to get to the other side of the car since that side wasnt wrecked and will be much straighter.
  13. Got them on and mounted!!!! here is some pics and yes i know the rear is on the wrong side. just threw them on for some pics they are allready off the car. The car is in rough shape right now give me a few weeks and she will be pretty again.
  14. The turbo injectors are brown. and you shouldnt have to remove the pintel caps to install the injector seals. If you need a set i have them sitting on a shelf. Make me an offer.
  15. Im no expert on the zxt's but if there was such a box that told the ecu how much boost its running it would be included in the zxt to z turbo swap, and well i think we all know that its not. It might be part of the cruise control if i recall right there is alot of the sensors on the drivers fender by the coil that has to do with the cruise.
  16. Just got my tires in. My rims should get here probably tomorrow or wed. I think. Here is a pic of what im upgrading from!!!!! Hrmm think ill have more traction. I cant complain with those tires though. They did get me to a 13.67 if i recall right. Dang those are wide. I just cant get over it lol Jeff
  17. Will you define the clutch going out? cause it might not be your actual clutch/pressure plate assembly
  18. The only parts i have marks from the sanding is on the roof where i used the flapper sanding disks a bit but on the rest of the body there is no sanding marks.
  19. Here is some pics of where i left the car for the weekend. Got a bit done but not alot. Well here is the pics And for those of you that wondered what i used to strip it here ya go. Also this took off bondo and paint/primer
  20. Not to bad. How much boost? Im hoping to get into the 12's the next time im at the track thanks to a much bigger turbo than at dni and much wider tires. might actually be able to get the power to the ground this time lol. Good job warren. So we gonna have a grudge match at this fall DNI?? Jeff
  21. I had the same problem. The write up on how to make your own relay cable tells you to leave the ignition output wire open.
  22. Dtm is direct to metal primer. The stuff im using is a DTM/highbuild/non sanding sealer depending on how you thin it out and such. As far as a resporator thats why im not spraying this weekend my paint shop was closed so i couldnt get the correct type of resporator. I dont think the ones they sell at lowes is good enough. For the primmer im just using a cheap harbor freight gravity fed gun. Ive used them before with pretty good results and tis just primmer and is going to get sanded down. The damage on the door is very minimal. I actually was able to just hammer and dolly it out. Its the rear quarter that is going to take the most work but since im going to be zging the car it actually saves me alot of work
  23. yes it it on the threaded part with a hammer but use something to protect the threads. i.e. piece of wood or a brass drift. or if you have a lead or brass hammer that would work great
