  1. e racer, I think headers deteriorate faster when wrapped if they are bare steel since they retain moisture and promote rust. Mostly when the car isn't being driven and they are not hot.
  2. Don't forget you also need braking power as well as towing power. The V6 trucks "will" pull it and "will" stop it but to be safe you might want to think about a V8. I pulled my 18' boat with 4Runner and it was lacking at best and probably not real safe. If you are looking for just a tow vehicle look for an older Surburban (you will have more friends to haul now) they are getting cheaper every day as gas prices go up.
  3. I just happen to have one in my inventory. Left side, drivers side.
  4. shoot me an PM and I'll check it out tomorrow in the light
  5. He has/had a hood very much like the one I sell. You can see it here. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=101130
  6. I think I have a hatch that isn't worth much.
  7. Back from paint, but need more room to start putting it back together. http://www.dotphoto.com/RegenImage.aspx?I=60257820&P1=SAN1&P2=SD5&G=C60DAEF3-3BDD-49D0-82BD-2E5182CEA9F1&T=I http://www.dotphoto.com/RegenImage.aspx?I=111781452&P1=SAN1&P2=SAN1&G=F9B7A957-C3B4-4544-868C-61E08DFC1219&T=I Right around 100K miles, and you wouldn't believe the price I paid.
  8. It isn't too bad as long as you are the one that took it apart and have a reasonably good memory. There are acouple of good books available "How to hotrod you Datsun" and another one like it (I forget the name right now). But check and recheck your tolerances and follow the torque settings in the manual. Also have you block professionally cleaned and checked. Then it is basically a bolt together project.
  9. Yep, it looks like the JCR cali kit with a G-nose.
  10. Nissan Sport derived from Sport Z magazine, which was a reincarnation of sorts of the Z car magazine.
  11. And yes they were refering to V8 intake manifolds and hi temp paint. So it isn't making sense to me. They went on to say the part about chromed out engines retaining heat, so the best alternative would be to paint the whole engine black, and went on to say they suggested a matte finish! I am not sure what those guys were smoking that day.
  12. Dark shingles for roof tops aren't too big of a deal because of the attic. Most flat roofs and mobile homes with no attic are white (or very light in color).
  13. I'm with Ron on this..I can't imagine how color would make any difference when light isn't involved.
  14. This type of corporate behavior is becoming quite common. We are watched very closely where I work as well and there are simply thresholds that trigger a second look and notification of your supervisor. I am salaried and get paid to get a job done, my position description even states I can be asked to work as long as it takes to get the job done. However there is a generic "computer usage policy" that prohibits "frequent internet usage" and that is where the thresholds kick in. I think it will be sometime before corporate America realizes people can multi task and get their fair share of the work done. Until that happens I guess we are stuck with our current management principles.
  15. I don't think it is a Reaction Research kit but a Scorpion Z. and how do you strip a car down to the frame that doesn't have a frame?
  16. I just looks like a vacuum port, I always get a chuckle when I see Z owners plug in a vacuum line to it though. If memory seves me correctly it is only to keep your engine from decelerating too quickly.
  17. I guess I am old too, first album I ever bought was Deep Purple Machine Head with Highway Star. Recently been stuck on animal by nickleback
  18. I too have been waiting anxiously for this.
  19. Nice work! What is up with the engines on the shelf for sale?
  20. I haven't seen that one before, it might be custom.
  21. The doors could be a very high quality with gelcoat inside and out. No problem reinforcing the hinge and latch areas. I wouldn't suggest them for a street car and you might want to check racing regulations prior to going fiberglass. But if are still interested I can probably get them done to your specifications.
  22. You want fiberglass doors? I know I can beat the 1200 + shipping costs. I can probably do it with five interested parties, if you can all agree how you want them done. email me to discuss details.
  23. That is the Pantera rear hatch, let me know if you want one.
  24. I have also wondered this same idea, however, I have watched as several cars have sold for half or less of what people put into them. My summary thought is that the V8 powered Z car is just not that popular to the regular guy. Most people can appreciate teh work and effort to create these cars but when it comes down to writing a check I think it would be a different story. if you would be interested in tossing around ideas give me a call.
