So basically we could just use any 1 quart diesel filter and mount? Plenty on eBay with larger return ports.

Cool sTuff. I did something similar on my 240z with a full MS3, its a thread here in this forum. I am not going to stay spark only on the MS3 though because I have a L28ET going in now. I thought it was kinda odd you are using a TPS on this setup. I found it a ton easier to put a MAP sensor in instead of a TPS and almost all OEMs use MAP as load. Good stuff though. I can share my map for you, it runs really well on my L26, you would just have to tweak it for the L28.

well, I would be your man if I had the time. I currently break the minds and souls of Marine Corp recruits down at Marine Corp Boot Camp in SD and dont have any time to do harness work anymore. I currently have a 240z that is running COP ignition and an 82 dizzy with a MS3/MS3X. I am about to drop a L28ET in it and am not too far away, just some injector and a couple sensor wires. I have done a few (10) swap harnesses for RB/SR in various R and S chassis in Okinawa, so I know my way around wiring. If you can wait 2 months, I have a break that I can do wiring work. I had a good time developing the power circuits for the megasquirt in my car, and I suggest you do something similar to my setup. http://forums.hybridz.org/topic/109966-l26-spark-only-cop/

i have driven it a lot since the swap and it is running pretty well. i have added a little more advance to make some good power too. as far as the parts required, they are listed up innthe first post. the oil pump drive had to be changed. it was dropped out the bottom wit the oil pump removed. i used the ford coils as the bracket i have was made for them. they are quite easily souced in th US and very cheap. i payed $60 for 8. you can use whatever coils you wish as long as you cannget themmto bolt up. as i said before, i am using the DIY trigger wheel that acts like a 12-1 crank wheel with a single cam trigger.

I am adding twin turbo to my VQ35DE in my G35, yeah its not a Z I know. I bought a stock set of VG turbo manifolds to bolt on as they bolt on. I looked at them and noticed they seem quite restrictive compared to RB26 manifolds. What is the limitations of the stock manifolds and would bolting a set of uprated turbos to them like a set of GT25R be good for 450whp. I am sure aftermarket headers would be good, but I am trying to build a base setup for now and upgrade later.

I took it out for a spin last night, needs more timing. I really can't do much tuning till I get the carbs where they need to be with Afr. I am going to install dual wide bands in a couple months and get some knock ears to tune it. I like this setup due to its uniqueness.

Just wanted to show it off. Just start the L26 for the first time on Megasquirt. Specs are: L26 MS3/3x Ford Mustang COP running 2.0ms dwell Nissan 6 channel igniter 82 L28ET distributer running the DIY trigger wheel Zietronix type MAP sensor (50psi) Right now its just idling good. Havent made a good ignition map yet, just running 15 degrees static right now. I just need a better timing curve.

Been working a lot the past week to get this thing on the road. Installed a set of S12+8 calipers using the Silvermine spacer. Put a set of Rota RBR 16X8 +4 as well. I think the tires should be a little smaller, 215/45 instead of the 225/50 I got, but its OK. The brakes feel nice and firm now, but I can tell that I need the bigger Master cylinder now. I rebuilt the carbs and they are tuned about 3.5 turns. Installed an MSA 6-1 header and the matching exhaust. Sounds pretty good now. Next up, Megasquirt digital ignition.... -
ts from the 83 280zx turbo. It doesn't have a vacuum advance. There is a four wire connector coming from the bottom

Trying to get one to get my Megasquirt project started.

not yet, but it doesnt seem to be too bad. I want to go with the Wilwood 1 inch. -
I know here in Cali with the vapor recovery, it doesnt work. It wont latch on and seal, at least for me. So a fill up is kinda sketchy

Yeah, for some weird reason, one of the other posts stated that this setup used the 11.4in rotor. No Maxima has a rotor that big, unless I missed something. Not sure what was different about the setup from this post, but I would like to know. I only can think of a different caliper mount. Brake swap thread -

Well swapped the rear drums out. It really isnt an upgrade, but it makes it way easier to bleed and adjust. I found a lot of misinformation on what to use with the brackets I went with, so here we go: 88 Maxima flat brackets machined 5mm on the ears and the hub to make a 2mm offset 88 Maxima Calipers 82 280zx rotors (258mm diameter 47mm depth) brake lines from 240sx calipers (yes others work, but its what I had) random pads that came with the rotors I think I need more braking in the front, but it seems OK for now. I will go the Toyota 4x4 calipers when I get more time to work on it. -

The Oreilly site listed the Canadian model as having a 10.15 inch rotor. -
I am looking for the brackets that use the 240SX calipers and the Z31 rotors. I already bought them, just would like to use them. I wouldnt mind getting the ones that use the FWD Maxima calipers either, but I will just have to buy the rotors.

Not really sure what color this is, but it used to be a lime green color. Its metalic and there is a hint of blue in it. Anyone know of the color? Need to know because I like it and I want to keep it this color for a while.

Seems to be a lot of S30z on the road around here in SD. Look forward to seeing it on the road.

Anyone see anything funny with this? Now I wonder if its the L24 version of the E88 head, it does have the E88 intake. -

I got the engine running good. The spark plug wires were in the wrong order, which was making it run really rough. The gas tank was pretty rusty, so it clogged the fuel filter a couple times. Now the tank is cleaned up and it drives pretty OK. I think the major kink in the exhaust is hindering my upper RPM power, so a new exhaust is in order in the future. Thinking about the full length motorsport header. I am also going to integrate the MS3 in for ignition only at first on the L24 and run Ford COPs and the 280ZX optical trigger. It handles OK and I wish it had power steering. Cleeaned it up and snapped a couple pics with my daughter. -
Thats good. Yeah, send me some pics. I will PM you my hotmail. If you can, take a pic of the inside.
-
Need one as mine is pretty banged up and holy. The car will be fuel injected when the new tank is needed, but the older 240z tank will be good too.

Well, the dash isnt cracked and I havent seen any rust. So the price was right for the examples I have seen here. It wasnt too much, but it wasnt a $500 "barn" find. It was what I wanted, good enough shape to work with but not too good to not want to modify. -
Picked up this car in Orange, CA in May. I have been slowly working on it here and there trying to get it roadworthy. The story: The previous owner had the car stolen from him and joyridden till the thief had ran it off the road and disabled it. It did some damage to it, but all under the chassis. There were no carbs on it and the brakes were void of any fluid. I quickly sourced some SU carbs and cleaned and flushed the brakes. I fixed the radiator support and replaced the gas tank as well. The underside was also steam cleaned to get all the sand from underneath. Now here for the better pictures: Current mods are: Full carpet, not sure if the vinyl is under it. 280zx 5-speed Future Mods: vented 4x4 fr brakes rear 240sx calipers Not sure on the direction I want to go with the engine, but it will have this in it at some point: Its an Rb25 with a 26 head and ITBs. Running MS3/3X in ITB mode. It was installed in our drift car in Okinawa.
