  1. all the wires are taped up same with brake boosters, clutch, etc. the fuel lines are being replaced with new stuff, and the brake lines are getting painted. Everything will be Laguna Seca Blue in the engine compartment
  2. lol what's that saying... if you have to ask you can't afford it?
  3. I'd think head temp sensor, thermotime sensor, It's obviously a sensor that is used once warmed. unplug your cold start valve and see if it acts the same way. Also try tuning your AFM, you can pop off the black box and adjust it, but if your no longer running rich don't bother yet. Wait till it runs -Ed
  4. Mikes paint thread for all who read 56k beware http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=103626
  5. LoL, this car seemed to be and easy tackle, weld up headlights, shave the antenna and fuel door, and the big tackle, smoothing the rear. Unfortunatly, the maco special single stage paint that was put on previously, bondoed over rust and holes and all sorts of other ****, so it's been an on going project of actually finding thigns wrong when you dont' expect them. I'm just praying I found all the hidden problems. This car has pretty much had hidden rust everywhere except the dang roof. Especially in the rockers. Then when I removed the doors, I found rust on the inside door jamb... never seen rust there before.. quite odd. We also discovered the car was previous wrecked on the driver front side. The battery tray has been removed and smoothed along with numerous things welded and ground off in the engine compartment, also cutting of the radiator support for FIC tubing. This car has taken much longer than I anticipated. However It should be seeing paint soon and Mike will host the pics for me. -Ed
  6. what was the price on the TCR's? I looked on that site but couldnt' seem to find the price or the part for that matter. -Ed
  7. 77 and 78 have the same U-joint styled halfshats that fit the R200.. i'm not quite sure what your asking as all manual 280z came with the R200 diff. Which would mean all manual 280s have the same halfshafts with are double U joints. -Ed
  8. It'll come together... if ya need 280 engine parts me me know.. i have spare manifolds and a complete engine in my garage. -Ed
  9. my triple weber L28 motor tears them up... too much low end torque, plain and simple
  10. Mike... find that paint thread for ole blue.. i'll send you all the pics from day one. So ugh... raise your hand if your loosing sleep over the Z's? *(raises both hands)* As for your list Door seals cowl rubber bumper pieces (they accept the cowl into the body) TC boots (might as well get 2) That's all i can think of off the top of my head I'm about to go do final sand before color on it, I'll let you know if i find anything else. -Ed OH yeah.. I have a demo logo
  11. I'd highly recomend the zero rust over por15 clean up is much much easier and I believe it works better. -Ed
  12. yes, a razor blade will scratch the glass, my front windshield has some scratches from exactly that. I would recomend the lacquer thinner route or extremly fine steel wool. They also make glass refinishing kits at JC whitney if you need to go that route. As for the body, some wet sanding with 1500 grit should take care of it and then polish it up again. -Ed
  13. Anybody still have the video? the link appears to be broken now. -Ed
  14. how much do those wheels run apiece? say 17x10 and 17x8 ? -Ed
  15. OK.. I have a 78 factory 5 so it came with the R200. Recently had some halfshaft nightmare and still do I need to replace the bushings that I can visible see are broken. I'm about positive it's the mustache bar, long bar in the back that bolts to the diff that keeps it from going up and down. Where it bolts to the body.. there are rubber isolators I guess you would call them? Round donuts with triangles on the top of the bushing and flat bottoms. I was lookn' at arizona Z cars urethane bushings to replace mine, but they do not seem to be the same bushing, I'm looking for the bushing the bar sits on. Anybody know where I can find a urethane one? -Ed
  16. the clicking is caused from the old bushings... replace them before you end up toasting your halfshafts like mine. The yolks are bent on mine and won't hold the U joint anymore.. I'm converting to CV's
  17. I must admit I'm a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to certain things. Especialy things I'm doing for other people that represent me. I don't know.. maybe I"m just old fashion but I believe the customer should always be happy. Isn't that the only way for a sucesfull retail business? -Ed
  18. are you removing this permanetly? I'd be interested in taking it off your hands possibly if you were. -Ed
  19. Not sure what part of houston or spring your located in, but there is a hydraulic/ AC shop off Sawdust just north of spring right before the Woodlands, they would surely have the fittings and probably be able to custom make a new line for you. They mostly do commercial work. -Ed
  20. I think my Z is already feeling left out. It keeps breaking on me everytime I think about taking a trip. -Ed
  21. lol don't forget you need new door seals. You want me to go ahead and take the fuel lines off the car then? Would make painting the engine bay a lil easier on me. -Ed
  22. Some good lookn' wheels too bad they don't clear the brake upgrade though. -Ed
  23. lol that's one hell of a break in journey ya got planned Mike. Wish I could come man.. too bad for that pesky thing called education lol. -Ed
