  1. My insurance is dirt cheap but I have mine listed as a custom car with a 19a on it. $180/yr. and I'm only 26
  2. is there any more information that you can give us to help you out? You aren't exactly being descriptive in what the car is doing or not doing short of saying no spark. what does the car do? Do you hear the fuel pump? is the battery charged? did you turn the key? Something more than one line would be helpful.
  3. Man, back when I was in university I owned my red grand prix I got pulled over all the time. It didn't help I had out of province plates and I looked super young. I once remember getting pulled over 10times in 3 weeks. Two times within 10minutes on a Saturday night! Once was my buddy who is a RCMP officier and didn't recognize me and thought someone stole my car, talk about a nice guy. scared the ♥♥♥♥ outta me though. I have even been pulled over in the parking lot of my work one time as I was leaving, again due to the out of province plates. *shrug* rarely got ticketed as I've always been nice to them. I figure better to be nice and see what happens than be an ass.
  4. My co-worker has two of these and absolutley loves them. Great little guys around people and I never notice hair in his place when I go over there. Very friendly dogs.
  5. I didn't use a bracket on the firewall at all. The lokar cable had a nut for either side of the firewall and it attached there. From there it just got routed to the TB itself.
  6. i got bolts and it took a little longer for me, but I'm canadian
  7. Yes this was a joke. I never expected nearly 30+ posts on it. I laugh every time I see that picture. Good times
  8. Funny you sould mention that. A member of HybridZ has already purchased that car. He posted the day after I emailed the owner about it. Ironic eh?
  9. what you don't like my manifold at least I man my station at all times
  10. welcome. there are more than a few Z'ers in the GTA. Check out the Ontario Z Car club
  11. My favourite yellow Z with my car.
  12. Just a little eh I nearly fell off my chair when I watched it the first time and saw him starting to hit the tv with the bat. At least he was "careful" when he hits the screen straight on...lol
  13. Well I'm not sure where to put this question to I guess it goes in the Misc. pile. I'm looking at another Z for a project car for my wife (thats what I'm telling myself and her, makes me look like the good guy and not a money pit, lol) Anyway its a shell of a car basically. All the rust has been dealt with (surface rust is present but it needs paint anyway) and the engine bay is stripped bare and as well as the interior. Other than needing a new hatch. The floors have been replaced as well which is a bonus. I've never started from this point before so I'm wondering what the 'order' usually is for mod-restoration is? What the tentative plan is for the car is a street corner carver. I would plan on a swap but I have access to many L6 motors so a stock motor may get thrown in so it can be driven once the suspension is where I want it to get it on the road for enjoyment. Down the road it would come out for a swap of something else. What I had in my mind as a tentative progression would be the following order: Suspension - i have my mind 99% set of betamotorsports strut kit based on my searching. -sway bars -strut tower bars -Adj LCA's Rear end -R200 w/3.90 gears (I think) and LSD -CV upgrade Brakes -AZCar wilwoods up front -Rear disk upgrade -280zx master upgrade Interior - (minimalistic) -Nice seats -CD player -Autometer gauges -Carpet -Roll bar/cage (maybe at best) Motor stuff -Engine bay prime and coating -L6/5psd of some sort (swap?) Paint Does that order seem correct? What order would you do the above in, or what order did you do yours in and what would you have changed if anything? Wow sounds easy on paper . Who has the $20k or so to finance this that I can borrow?
  14. How to fix your plasma TV with a baseball bat. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lKJcBx9cXKo&eurl=http://i.gizmodo.com/5130030/how-to-repair-your-plasma-tv-with-a-baseball-bat-nsfw&feature=player_embedded
  15. You're planning to install all that in one weekend? I'll say good luck to that as that is a ton of work assuming everything goes exactly as planned. Valvesprings are a given for any cam swap on the LS based motors as the stock are barely enough for the stock cam.
  16. you can pick up stock LS6 heads on the LS1 forums for like $4-600 and a cam for $250-400 (used at 250, new 400) so its possible. Some nice ported LS6 heads are only about $1k with upgraded valvetrain and flow a good CFM for med/large cams. North of 400rwhp is possible with ls6 heads and a matched cam.
  17. I know you can do the h/c/i for that price, but turbo or blower? Not likely for $3500 unless you do all the fabrication yourself like ColtGT4g63 did. Off the shelf or custom by a shop will run much much more.
  18. Well I did the unthinkable today. Look out anyone going to a track that has turns in it. Gunna be a fun fast summer
  19. I'm a heads/cam/intake kinda guy as you really don't 'need' more than that in a light weight Z to have a boat load of fun. More than enough to get into trouble with. Where can you do a custom turbo or blower setup for $3500? (thats what reasonable aftermarket heads, cam, and intake/TB would set you back)
  20. here are some pictures of my install. I didn't use the stock panels as I upgraded to FG panels for my stereo. This made life a lot easier for me in the end I think...maybe...lol This picture didn't upload so here it is separately
  21. 1. Year of motor/mods 2000 LS1 - small cam, JTR headers, 90mm FAST intake, 90mm FAST TB, 3" exhuast 2. Tranny 2000 T56 3. Kit used or explanation of your custom mounts. JCI mounts 4. Any special accessories or parts needed for the swap, including fuel, wiring, etc. No 'special' parts per se. I upgraded my entire fuel system though from the pump to the rail. Also used JTR radiator, great unit with Fbody dual fans. 5. Date you started on the project, date finished 3months give or take 6. Other car mods (suspension, brakes, etc.) Wilwood front brakes (still to go on), LSD (still to go in), lowering springs, front sway bar, autometer guages, Recaro seats, stereo etc PS thanks for the way back play back. This thread started before I even owned a Z...lol
