  1. The MAF is infront of the Rad just behind the K&N filter (my intake tubing snakes to the front of the car). You can just see it in the picture below by the filter neck. I haven't started the car yet honestly. My battery is out of the car for the winter (and the battery is dead). So that will be a surprise for spring. I did notice that with the 90/90 the Throttle cable angle was not great when I re-used the stock throttle cable holder (if thats the proper name, basically the black metal arm that bolts into the intake via two bolts and has two slits in it one for the throttle cable and one for the cruise control). When I installed it originally and pressed the accelerator in the car it would stick/bind a bit (my friend who helped me could hear the cable binding within the braided cover). So what we did was remove the cable holder and bent it so that the cable was angled properly to the TB. Now it doesn't bind or stick at all when pushing the gas peddle or releasing at all. Worth the 3min to bend it. When you install yours you will notice that the angle of the stock piece on the FAST intake points downwards slightly. By bending the tab down it properly aligns the throttle cable and the TB. Pictures are worth a 1000 words. Take a look a the last picture of the completed project and you will see that the tab nearest the intake (driverside) is ever so slightly bent straighter up than the furthest (passanger side)tab
  2. Love those pics still. Are those sumitomo' HTR Z's upfront?
  3. You bought the 260z from miki in Toronto?
  4. Nope. Just a standard tune so far. Nothing fancy here.
  5. WOW I LOVE that colour on the Z. The fenders are well done also. Going to be a machine and a half.
  6. Well I am quite bored being at home on sick leave and not being sick anymore. I guess that a fast recovery is a good thing in the grand scheme of things. So yesterday I started out to install my FAST 90mm intake and 90mm TB that have been sitting on the shelf for a while. It took me two days as I got tired and had to rest and didn't make it back out till today. Needless to say it went flawless and looks great. Old LS6 intake out FAST intake and TB on bench Intake removed and intake ports on heads taped off Removing stock valley pan bolts with short hex head bolts so intake will fit - stock grey, new black All new hex cap bolts in- also stock coolant crossover still in place (metal pipe that runs front to rear Stock LS1 coolant pipe removed LS6 coolant pipe and plugs installed. You can see the pipe at the front, it goes from one head to the other. The finished product- Looks awesome. Haven't thrown the vette covers back on yet but I love it. One project down
  7. Bingo. The BM kit is more than just struts and coilovers. Its way more. What condition is the rest of the car in ?
  8. This is what I long for to install on my Z. I'm hoping late spring I'll have the $$ for it. Well worth it for what you get in terms of products, completeness and time the vendor puts into preparing it all. Solid setup.
  9. $25/can for a special colour isn't that bad of a deal. Expecting a shop to do anything for under $200 is also unrealistic. The prep time for them to do it will cost more than $50. Keep saving.
  10. I'd get those off the car asap! Put the stockers back on till the spacers get there. When the wheels are off take some pics and post up. Looks to me that those tires are garbage now. :s I hope I'm wrong
  11. I have 245/45/16's on the rear of my 16x8 with 0 offset and stock fenders and on big dips it rubs. I am going to roll the fenders and see if that helps come spring. I'm not running them up front though, I have 225/50/16's so I dont know about upfront.
  12. As it turns out my neighbor got me a fuel pressure guage for under the hood to be ran off of my regulator. very cool
  13. when you say you were breaking stubs after the cv upgrade was it "easy" to break them or only when dumping the clutch with sticky tires and launching?
  14. Ok for those running the 10s and faster how much have you put into the R200 to get where you are and what maintenence schedule to do you follow for replacing parts etc?
  15. I didn't have anything car related on my list this year believe it or not. I didn't even ask for any tools. Well leave it to my inlaws and they got me two sets of stubby ratcheting box wrenches (metric and standard). I was surprised and pumped at the same time. i've wanted those for ever but never bought them. I have good inlaws
  16. Congrats as said above. Getting in to the school you wanted is always a good feeling. Enjoy it, and the $$$ certainly doesn't hurt either Cheers
  17. They look similiar to my sumitomo's that i have on the back end of the Z. I'm running 245/45/16's though... mine were cheap, like $73/each from tirerack.com the 225/45's are only $68/each... worth a look 225/45ZR16 Load Index 89 = 1279lbs (580kg) per tire Speed Rating “W” = 168mph (270kph) 89W SL Treadwear: 160 Traction: A Temperature: A160 A A 1279 lbs. 44 psi 10/32"
  18. i've looked into one and read a bunch about one but the car going faster fund is smaller than the cost of a maggie at this point.
  19. the question is will everything other than the R200 last at or above those power levels? shafts, stub axels etc
  20. Why does this not surprise me in the slightest? Coldest I've be in the Z was on my way hom from buying it down in Florida between christmas and new year. I got to a few hours before the boarder and realized the heater was inop It was only about 0*C or 32*F but it was COLD in the car, had my jacket on and blankets on me lol. Coldest I've driven was last Feb or march when I drove to Nova Scotia to see a dying family member in the hospital I was in Northern Quebec and the temps dropped 20*C in a matter of 30km. I believe it was about -32*C according to what the civic was telling me...then my gas light came on as I was in the middle of nowhere surrounded by trees. Not a good feeling...lol
  21. This is the only site that I'm on that regularly updates the forum to implement useful ideas. This site and the admin/mods rock
  22. Well I'm home finally. I went in on Monday morning and had my kidney removed. I actually got home yesterday around 5pm or so but didn't get on to a compute as I just was more interested in being home and relaxing. Its been a pretty fast week for me all in all time actually flew by pretty good. Surgury went well they told me, nothing unexpected and they were able to take the kidney out lathropscopically (or however that's spelt) so I only have 4 small incisions in my abdomin. In all seriousness it wasn't nearly as painful as I was expecting so far. I guess I set myself up for the worst but its not THAT bad all in all. I should have been home on Thursday but the perkicet (sp?) didn't agree with my stomach and caused vomiting. Now THAT was probably the most pain I've been in so far believe it or not. I'm now just on oxycodon ir and it seems to be doing the job without any side effects. They just wanted to monitor me for a day to make sure everything was ok. I'm up and walking around on my own already with little to no pain and eating a bit, nothing solid yet but pudding, apple sauce and soups. Baby steps for now. I'm glad to be out of the hospital thats for sure. I'm expecting to be off the meds and back to 'normal' by the new year. I can't drive while I'm on these meds obviously so I won't be out and about much till then nor will I be working on the Z. Z ya around and thanks for the past advice/life stories it helped a lot. Jason
