When I installed my Megasquirt i used a relay box from a junk yard 90s Nissan, it had all the relays i was going to need. Plus i had the extra wiring also if needed. Bought new relays and i was good. Installed 2 of the fuse boxes a mentioned previously. I would go the Toyota relay box your thinking of.

Looks good so far, the hood may still fit fine. Remember that the z hoods are raised in the middle and then slant all the way to each side. Take a pic from the center of either fender looking straight across to the other fender. You can use a maxi fuse upgrade for the engine bay instead of the fuse link box. You can make up your own fuse box with push in fuses, Auto parts stores sell those boxes for like $10 bucks. If you have the engine and ecu wiring diagram, that's the last thing you need.

Running 280turbo inj. on a Z20/24E hybrid engine.

Is the z24 the engine with 8 spark plugs?, You may want to lower the compression before going turbo.. Not sure what the compression ratio is.. Have you thought about going stand alone ecu.. Microsquirt's are cheap... -

Question about deleting accessories off 2jzge
dexter72 replied to Shock_Strauss's topic in Toyota L6 Forum
Ok Nice, They probably said not to do it because power steering is tough to deal with no power assist. Get that belt and the next one smaller, I just returned the belt i didn't use. The idler pulley housing has a middle mark on it, which i like for the idler pulley to line up with, when the belt goes on. Just in case the belt stretches. Sometimes the belt squeels when first starting n my engine, other times it doesn't. Im good with it. Which stand alone are you going to use to run your engine??. Good get it running by june because you know the humidity comes in mid june on the east coast.. I was born in Washington D.C. Lived in Maryland till 1998.. -
Question about deleting accessories off 2jzge
dexter72 replied to Shock_Strauss's topic in Toyota L6 Forum
I did the belt routing just like that on my 2jge-nat build, its in the Toyota Engine forum. You need the ribbed pulley for a Honda s2000. I don't remember the belt number right off hand. That pic is of a 2JGTE Engine. Do a lot of research, All the info you need is on club lexus sc300-400 forums and supra forums. Become a member so you have access to everything.. You can Private Message me also, I'll try to help as much as i can. -
The 1k ohm resistor should be wired into #24 megasquirt wire and a 12 volt source. Have you gone over your install wiring ??.. Once you get the timing control figured out. Just looking and the spark table doesn't show Map on the left column, its ignition based. Just looks odd to me. Is that the only way the spark table is set up with the extra code ??.. If so your timing is waay to high on the upper half of that spark table.

Quick Update:: Setup is still running well, All the lights on the car stopped working one eve. Checked power at my fuse box and it was good, turned the lights on checked power at the fuse box again, No power at the fuse box.. Uh Oh.. So took a few days and found that a 42 year old wire had corroded in my body harness. Fixed that and then my wideband started reading lean on acceleration only. So fixing this wire, which may have been bad for a long while, has me now working on the Acceleration Enrichment settings with my Megasquirt.

Lol I was like damn im leaning to the side Big Time. Lol If the pan clears the rack i think your in business.

Looks like the 1G is the little brother of the 7M and 1J, 2J. That is truly a unique engine you have.. Did the engine come with most of the wiring harness and the Ecu ??... You may have to find a wiring diagram for the 240z and the 1G and then splice in the wires accordingly, Welcome to Customizing. Hybrid You may decide to upgrade the fuse box and get rid of the glass fuses, if you haven't done that already. On my Nat-2j swap, I have push in fuses for all the Megasquirt Engine wiring, Glass fuses for the lights..

If you get one you have to customize the stock 240z-280z rear bar, for the finned cover to fit.. Good Luck.

Was asking ifts based of the 7m because maybe you could swap a rear sump 7M pan on that 1g. Just a thought.
-
Looks really cool, is this engine based off the late 80s, early 90s US 7M Engine ??. Just thinking about what engine parts match up to it... Observation from the last pic you posted, Try setting the engine back farther since you need an inch to clear the oil pan. I also have seen people modify the front of the oil pan as long as the sump doesn't sit right against it. They Cut the area out of the pan that needs the space, then have it re-welded.

What kind of tuning problem are you having??...

Look up some Megasquirt wiring installs or in the Megamanual. I added a turbo to my 83 n/a engine and did this. I used a turbo dist, added a 1k ohm resister in the dist wiring, used a Bosch ignition module from a Volvo to provide spark. Only 4/5 wiring connections with it. Megasquirt 2 can read the turbo dist signal no problem.

Twin cam head for the L6 from Derek at Datsunworks

Fantastic job man, keep on making all of us regular folks look bad. Attention to details at its finest -
I think your in the same boat as i am.. Using my original Megasquirt from 2006 and still have megatune on 2 old laptops. Megatune is obsolete now.. Tuner studio is the upgrade if im not mistaken. You just have to find out the laptop requirements for that. There is the newer Shadow dash that works on tablets. You just have to find out what is needed to use the tablet with Shadow dash.

Nice going and keep the updates coming... I wanted to do my 2j swap for 11 years, but life happened. Got married, had kids, got divorced. I never gave up. Finally the time was right and i did the swap.

I had a T3/T4 57 trim, it spooled up really quick.. Enjoyed it a lot. Maybe check into one of those...

You can try to do a search for pics of the inside of the clsd, there used to be pics on the net showing the difference between the clsd and non-clsd. with the rear cover removed...

Stand alone controller and wiring harness question.
dexter72 replied to RonA's topic in Toyota L6 Forum
Not knowing anything about this standalone, I would say you need to buy new coil on plugs, coil ends, camshaft sensors, and crankshaft sensor. Good Luck -
Have you done a search for swapping over any of the BMW transmissions??.. I read a thread on club lexus, where a member swapped a BMW E39 5spd onto a 1jz.. Not a U.S. Sold model BMW.. Guy is from Sweden.. He read that drifters say that trans is stronger than the R-154 and cheaper than the Toyota V160 Trans. Sc300 rebuild 1jz bmw trans is the thread title.. Good Luck

Any mid to late 90's nissan Tps will work fine.. If you buy / find the smaller Tps you can make that bolt to the larger 70's nissan Tps..
