  2. lol, yeah, but these tv stars take pleasure in simple things like destroying a car by dropping it from a giant crane and blowing up stuff to see what happens and blowing up buster did I mention they like blowing stuff up? Oh, and hurting adam. They seem to like doing that too. like the time adam blew his eyebrow off and burned his hair and the time they made him pee on an electric fence and the time they electricuted him and the time adam thought it was smart to stick his face up to a vacuum motor (which ripped a chunk off his lip) haha I could go on and on. it's really funny seeing adam get hurt >_>

  4. haha it's coming close to a year for me as well (about 2 months I think actually) and I haven't even registered mine yet! though I think I just need to do a through re-conditioning of the vacuum system.
  5. ESPECIALLY that rear panel that he made with nothing more than a wooden hammer whoa, mj that link you posted, that body shop did a HORRIBLE job trying to repair it before he got it. I would HATE to see someone do that shoddy body work on such a rare car but man that's some nice body work. Slap on some clear coat and it's good to go Does this guy even use bondo?! from the looks of it you could spray on paint without any at all! (that car pictured is all steel I should mention XD)
  6. well they ran the wing in SCCA Street Modified 3 and Street Modified 2 (they tossed it on a miata just to do it hah) seems like a really interesting idea, being able to maximize downforce for low speed tight turn's, to high speed turns. (and is the reason why F1 doesn't want them I bet)

I tend to switch mine between games I'm playing (visual novels) manga I'm currently obsessing over, or anime that really impacts me (flcl, gurren lagann, ai yori aoshi, etc) I'm really picky too, as you see my taskbar color has to match my background XD btw, got a link to the sauce on that trigun background?
  8. I just realized, HBZ doesn't have one. Why? These type of threads are always nice to have (unless you're one of those types that enjoys the grassy hills of windows default) So, I decided to start this thread. Yay? But, we do need some rules Please keep all desktops safe for work (Think about the children man!) Please keep images at a maximum of 1024x768 (if images are larger, please link) XD and be nice if we want to steal away your wallpaper (Think of it as a compliment hah) So, to kick this one off, here's mine!   10. XD I love this line so it went from making a few panels out of aluminum, to recreating the entire body in aluminum!and from the looks of it, it's an aluminum reconstruction of the original body, mounted to the original frame, and a damn good job at all that hand shaped metal

  13. very true. it's hard to see where they lifted the rear from, but they didn't force the car against the wall, it was only there to prevent a worst case scenario of a runaway. didn't look like they were hammering on it either since they wanted to know exact speeds >_> using a Z's speedo
  14. http://www.cheetahcars.com/index.htm from what I read on that site, it was built to be a cobra killer, powered by a corvette v-8 to get the engine that far back, they didn't use a drive shaft, and the ujoint on the rear diff is linked to the output shaft on the trans. 100 were planned to be built for it to be classed as a production car, but after 16 cars a fire broke out, and no more were built. 11 cars were completed, and 8 survive today.

I remember my dad had a practice tree that he would use to practice on his R/T's you could set a delay in it (say, your car takes .25 seconds from the time you engage the clutch, to the time it breaks the beams) you could set that delay in to make it more predictable with your car. I used to beat my dad a lot with it (I got a lot of .51's and .52's) oh, the practice tree he had went by the old .500 standard. so that would translate to a .01x and a .02x I used to get a LOT of .0xx with that thing haha.

  19. it's in the description and if you go a bit down, it has a 350 bored .030 over in it now, and not the 400 HISTORY OF THIS PARTICULAR SCARAB - CAR # 153 This 1976 Datsun 280Z was purchased by its original owner in 1978 with the sole intention of converting the vehicle into a factory produced, authentic Scarab. The car was completed on February 28, 1979 and carried Scarab # 153. The car was originally built using Scarab's 327 c.i. Chevrolet power, mated to a four-speed Borg Warner manual transmission. When the car was first completed, it owner used the car primarily as a street "sleeper" and participated in some Saturday night "stoplight to stoplight "activities. He decided that the Scarab needed more power and the car was returned to Scarab to have a turbocharger installed. The necessary changes were made to the engine and the car left Scarab complete with a turbocharger and a rare, in-dash turbo gauge (more on that later). A few years later, the car developed a problem with one of the pistons and Gale Banks of Banks Turbo's was commissioned to build a small block 400 designed for a turbo. The engine was installed and was back on the road again, this time with even more horsepower. A short time later, in a friendly street "competition", the Scarab was beaten by a twin turbo powered (Chevrolet) Jaguar so the car was brought back to another facility (by this time, Scarab was no longer in business) for even more power. This time a twin turbo, 400 c.i. Chevrolet with significant modifications was contemplated. Unfortunately, the development of the engine/drive-line proved to be problematic and they could never get the car sorted to the owner's high standards. Some eight year later and after a substantial investment, the shop went bankrupt and the car was behind a locked gate. The owner moved on to other projects and the car was left at the shop for many years. The second and current owner learned about the car and its rarity, and made an offer to purchase the car. After considerable negotiation, the owner reluctantly agreed to sell the car under the condition that it would be "brought back to life" and returned to a configuration that was closer to the original Scarab. The new owner took a few years to decide what approach to take with the Scarab but finally decided to complete a restoration, retaining as many of the cars original components as possible (interior, badging, spoilers, wheels, ID plates, etc). The car was completely gone through and received new running gear, mechanical components and, high quality, complete re-paint and freshening of the cosmetics. In 1995 the owner heard about the "Pony Express" a high performance, "On-Road" driving event held on Nevada public roads. The event (and other, similar events that he entered between 1996-1999) provided the opportunity to drive your car over the course of 100 miles in various speed categories. The goal was to get as close to the maximum speed of your class. During his initial event in 1996 he entered in the 110 mph class finishing 9th with an average speed of 108.779 mph. Another event, 6 months later (same speed class) resulted in a 2nd place finish with an average speed of 110.048 mph. Well, feeling the "need for speed" (or more speed), the car underwent a mechanical upgrade including the addition of a 5-speed transmission, Tokico adjustable struts, Ibock springs, and urethane bushing. The car was entered in the 120 mph class and then the 130 mph division with the following results: EVENT DATE CLASS FINISH AV. SPEED Pony Express 6/97 120 MPH 3rd 120.071 Elko Gamblers 9/07 130 MPH 2nd 133.431 Pony Express 6/99 130 MPH 1st 129.991 The car was clocked at 150 MPH with an estimated top speed of 165 MPH (limited by V rated tires).
  20. if you read the history on car 153, it HAD a turbo, installed by scarab, and then was upgraded to a TWIN turbo setup, but they couldn't get it right, so it ended up sitting around for a long time, then someone decided to buy it and restore it, but put in a new engine, and a new 5 speed tranny (and probably went to the JTR position at that time?) But that's why it has the boost gauge and no turbo.

  23. Oh My God Those rims on a black GT-R look AMAZING they give the car a totally different feel to it. Now it looks like some monster race car that'll blow the doors of everything oh...wait...it already does
