Speaking of VW and snapping cranks, my dad's friend built his FIRST stock 1200cc engine once, and didn't know how to shim the cylinder's for the appropriate compression ratio. He ended up with something like 10:1 compression ratio on a STOCK 1200. He said it was able to get up to 100mph and then he heard it start knocking. he pulled over and tugged at the pulley to find, his crank was snapped in two (by the amount of endplay he suddenly had) It had broken at a jagged edge, so the two halves were still meshing enough for it to run on all 4's.

I would say the ebay scam is worse since they're illegal copies. that, and fansubs are better quality. anyways the legit dvd's from japan (region 2) are 60 bucks each...pretty insane but japanese dvd's cost a ton. i was half asleep when I said that first line. Basically, what I ment was, buying the dvds isn't really worth it, since you can download a better quality version from the fansubs. either way, you're not giving any money back to the people who actually produced the shows, since the ebay versions are bootlegs.

I did something worse than that. I disabled the shell completely and used a wallpaper of the shell. everyone thought their computer's were locked up. I also photoshopped the clock to display 6:66pm for the hell of it. They all swore they had some horrible virus. Then the teacher made me fix it v.v (she was in on it too)

on my 78, for lifting, the front passenger side has a bracket bolted to the head to hook a hoist to. the other side doesn't have anything like that, but I assume you can bolt the hoist to the intake manifold bolt and be ok. but the lifting points aren't some sort of tool. it's a bracket that's already bolted to the engine.

watch this video it could save your butt!

whoa. looks like I'll have to take a look see at my Z's tires. Luckily I don't drive it, but it's a scary thought now considering I have taken it up to 100+ on a couple occasions -
when I got my 78, the pos. wire under the passenger seat had a long peice of wire with alligator clips on it. One end was clipped to a random hot fuse (not sure which fuse is which) and the other to the pos. wire. I have NO idea why they did it, unless they were troubleshooting, because the fuel relay works fine! lol

If I had the money, I'd buy the cheapest gas sipper I could if I drove as much as you do I'd get the cheapest one you can. If you can get a Civic HF for that much, go for it.

I say flare it, but make it look unmodified XD you've already got a massive set of rear flares that just needa get bigger lol. Pretty sick project. definitely won't be something you'll see many of, or ever.

you'd be surprised how far they go to make them look legit. Here's the big question. what REGION is the dvd. the official DVD's (the only ones released really) are Region 2 dvds. Scammed copies of dvds are generally Region ALL. there's a big scam going on with a video game called Melty Blood. what these guys do, is make a dvd version called Melty Blood ReAct Final Tuned (ReAct is an expansion) but they make it as 1 dvd instead of 2cd's. you would NEVER suspect that it was not a legit copy, and most people that own it, never know it's not legit till they try to apply the english patch. (which requires the original copies) btw Geneon Entertainment produces the dvds

The ebay thing IS a scam. they're basically bootlegs with english subtitles added in. since in japan they haven't released an english subtitled version, nor has it been released in the US

after a bit of google-fu you're RIGHT I never knew that they were egg shaped. But why are they designed like that? I've never seen a dual staged throttle body on one.

good price to offer for this 280z?
m4xwellmurd3r replied to LeX's topic in S30 Series - 240z, 260z, 280z
I would take a look at how bad the rust repair is, but from that picture, it does look pretty nice. -
I suppose it could happen if the car suddenly hydroplaned, but I don't know the exact conditions for hydroplaning a car except it doesn't take much standing water to do it. I felt my bug hydroplane once, but I was going on a straight freeway so I didn't have to much problems since the little bug was gutless. or something like that.

My fuel gauge does something similar. when it's empty, it reads as FAR as the gauge can (way way under E) when it's full it reads about a half tank. BUT I can't really trust it too much. I'm going to pull the sender out and see what's goin on with it. I don't mind it being stupidly inaccurate though haha. it's one of her quirks I like.

Mineral spirits is to thin the paint. you can thin the paint out enough to use it in a spray gun with excellent results too. For wetsanding, I'm a psycho and with things like this, I'd probably keep going PAST 1000 and go up to 2000 (I lap cpu IHS's, and go all the way up to COMPUTER PAPER as the final buffing/sanding)
-
this probably isn't right, but I've never tried coloring a car with a paint like that
-
man...if I had money I would LOVE to put those on my Z

that'll only cause an issue if they're all rated differently. different manufactures produce the same rated injector in different colors.

Stuttering on acceleration
m4xwellmurd3r replied to 91_4x4runner's topic in S30 Series - 240z, 260z, 280z
there's a guy on ebay that sells reconditioned injectors that are flow matched within 2% a full set of injectors, harness clips and the test sheet are like 140, but the only one's I see him selling right now are probably too big -
well I know that there are some cheap motherboards that work fine. I have a really cheap MSI motherboard that came bundled with an Athlon 64 3000 (socket 754 haha the last athlon64 3000 newegg had) I've swapped my cpu out for my mom's 3200 and have it overclocked from 2.2 to 2.53ghz to be totally stable, but I can do a suicide run of a touch over 2.6ghz You just needa take time and read all teh reviews you can to find out if that cheap board will turn into a frisbee, or a good buy. the one thing I refuse to buy cheaply on are power supplies. get a cheap one and you run the risk of blowing out your entire computer. man...i really want that 1000 dollar rig now. the Phenom 9550's have been getting REALLY good overclocks.

HOT DEAL!!!! GREAT HOME SYSTEM AND A TERRIFIC BUSINESS WORKSTATION AS WELL!THIS SYSTEM IS LOADED! 2 gigs corsair Dominator 1066mghz RAM 160gigs storage! The AMD Phenom CPU makes this machine COOK!!! that shows in the products description, but not in the detail. honestly, I'd still build my own. it's an 800 dollar system. the computer I have on that wishlist is 1000 dollar, has 650gb of storage, 2 gigs of ram, a REALLY nice cpu and a wicked heatsink, a nice case, and a pretty good video card. you can always tweak it from what I posted to fit your needs, but if you plan to drop that kind of money, build a custom PC from newegg parts.
-
Yeah there's some flaws with your parts. I would suggest upgrading to an AM2 motherboard and cpu, with DDR2 memory, and a PCI-E video card wtih a good PSU I've never messed with corsair PSU's but I would go with something like an Aspire PSU with at least 600watt's anyways I can already tell you. the video card will not work, the ram will not work, the cpu and psu MIGHT work, depending on how proprietary your computer is to begin with. Honestly I would just build a new system from the ground up. use the parts like your ahrd drives and cd drives, and upgrade everything else if it's any help to ya, here's my 1000 dollar dream rig i want to build sometime in the future. http://secure.newegg.com/WishList/PublicWishDetail.aspx?WishListNumber=8358788 by the time i have all the money, it'll be much cheaper (when I first put this system together, it cost about 1200+)

what does your fuel pressure look like

people replace the entire frame rails quite often i believe. so yes, it is safe to fix. the frame rails don't support the entire body, they only strengthen it. the entire body is the frame, so you wouldn't have to worry abut the structural integrity being compromised by replacing the rails.

I had to get my mom to replace all her tires because she let them run underinflated too long. they weren't bad, but they were getting bad. welp thanks for that bit of info. it'll be handy whenever i need to haul something
