  1. 87-89 Z31 Turbos. Do a search. And yes if they are stock they have a finned cover.
  2. I worked at a summer Camp in Raquette Lake for two summers, all I could think about while cruising down 87 was how great it would be in a S30. Cool video!
  3. My roommate picked up a N/A 2JZ out of a ES300 from a junkyard in Dallas for $450, and just bought turbo pistons and conrods. Just an idea, but you can find them anywhere.
  4. Battery voltage is still nasty, I pulled a condenser off of my L28ET alternator and put it on my S130 Alternator, didn't really change anything. I'm going to put the dropping resistors on probably tomorrow and start playing around with the PWM settings again. Let it snow, did you put those dropping resistors after the relay board or before? I was going to put them inline on the injector bank wires and mount them to the relay board housing. My wideband is doing weird stuff, it'll jump from stuck on 13 down to stuck on 8, and alternate between the two. You can see it jump from 8 to 13 in that screen shot. I still haven't got to play with the wideband software yet, but Chris got me a copy of logworks last night.
  5. Any news on the RB30? The shiro is looking great btw
  6. ....... *calls Hoov to make NW road trip plans*
  7. MS has a sharp learning curve, but it's not bad after you get your hands dirty with it. I like the fact that everything is very open about it, and the guys at DIYAutoTune have been really helpful for me, and have given me quick tech support after the sale. ZXT Dizzy is going to be your best bet for a budget, and a Z31 Dizzy won't work, you still need a 82-83 Dizzy for the housing and shaft. People just swap in the internals. I'm running a F54/P79 and it's fine... for now. I'll probably look into a thicker head gasket for later. I'm at 8.7:1 right now with my Fail-pro. Flat Top F54/N42 would be ridiculous for a turbo swap. it's high 9s in the SCR IIRC. I'm running a Volvo intercooler, I didn't find much problem with a 'different side' FMIC, I don't know why people are crazy for them. My butt dyno says my car is muuuuuch faster than N/A, I'd say stick with the T3 at first, you can always upgrade later. Especially if you're on a budget. Walboro 255s are cheap. Around $100. I put a link to them on my 'N/A to turbo swap' thread. I was in your shoes several months ago, not saying I did it the 'best' way or anything, but you can look through my build thread for ideas if you feel like it: http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=150722 And here's the N/A to Turbo Thread: http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=153195 Good luck!! I've really grown to like the L28 after this swap.
  8. First things first... It's been crappy, overcast, coldish, and rainy this week, so I didn't want to do a night run. Got the car running again, so I'll try to play with the WB tomorrow. Chris gave me the Logworks software, so I'll try the thing flexicoker tried.
  9. Aw, aw come on!!! I do have a thing for women who've been to prison... haha look at your last post's post # You're the
  10. Update! *edit* Repost!! >_< How did I miss that I got the FETs in today and installed them, the car is back on the road. It's so nice to drive a fast car. The Z31 feels slooow comparatively.
  11. :flamedevi:flamedevi:flamedevi:flamedevi:flamedevi:flamedevi:flamedevi:flamedevi:flamedevi:flamedevi:flamedevi:flamedevi:flamedevi:flamedevi:flamedevi:flamedevi:flamedevi:flamedevi IMMA GET YOU BRAAAAAP editing posts and crap. psshhh
  12. Except those cars are actually fast
  13. Well I'm glad you came out on top with that!! Some 16 year old Honda's Front fender gave me $1800! I got paint, all bank and bought a setup for the S30
  14. x2 Hey Josh whats the update on your blue Z? Get the body fixed yet?
  15. Got a picture for you: I took mine off because it looks ugly I have them sitting in a box next to the other L28s in the parts room. The other one is usually on the cyl #6 Exhaust stud like Giorgio said. You can barely see it in this picture:
  16. Okay, it's about time for Bawb's user title to change to "Euro Sedan Leg Humper" Just about every post now has SOMETHING about a Benz or BMW
  17. You think that econobox in front of the camera car was going anywhere near 100mph? I think he sped up as well before he pointed the camera down.
  18. I wonder why they went with twins? Plus the motor is facing the wrong way.
  19. BTW that is NOT a 74 260Z, unless they swapped on the 77-78 Bumpers. [Highly unlikely] Ask him to see what the motor is, the Engine stamp is on the 'spark plug side' of the block, right below the head on cyl #6. That car looks really really rusty. It might be useful for parts [cool spoiler ] if the motor turns over, but it being several hours away would be a deal breaker for me. If this is your first Z and you want it as a project car I'd look elsewhere.
  20. I drove my 78 Home from New Orleans for $1,000 with an extra hood, hatch, and a box full of parts. I never would trust new paint unless you know there is no bondo like they have been saying, but most people do a paint job to cover the rust up It's missing a Hood louvre, has pretty bad rust on the hatch, has crappy wheels and will most likely need new tires, and it could be non-op because of a rusty fuel tank, electrical problems, etc. The hatch area looks pretty clean from teh pictures though, mine has rust on the flat portion where the hatch latches, and that one looks pretty clean. The interior looks good though. Depending on what the car looks like in person and the actual amount of rust, I'd say $1000 at the very most for a non-running 280Z.
