  1. If you don't have the bolts I'm sure I could dig some up from my collection of bolt buckets. I don't have experience with upper intake studs but I'd trust BRAAAAAAP and MAG's advice.
  2. *Update* Last night Chris and I soldered the harness and cleaned up all of the wires. Today I got the LC-1 Wideband wired up, it's pretty sporadic with the open downpipe, but it's good to see my AFRs there on my lappy. I used the VE Analyzer and the fuel map is MUCH better. Hopefully getting the exhaust done Monday morning so I can actually start tuning properly. Meanwhile I'm LOVING the boost and trying to keep out of the throttle until I get it tuned up right. Mike I'll send you those maps next week after the exhaust is on, the map is already better after the WBO2 correction. Were you using that or did your Wideband not interface with MegaLog Viewer?
  3. I put some white out on mine, I got the white out with the V-sponge on the end so it would go on easier in that tight space, it's really easy to see now.
  4. I have no idea what you're talking about Glad you have everything sorted. So did Pallnet make studs for the Upper intake as well? Just wondering, I use the stock bolts on top and made my own 'stud kit' for the lower intake/exhaust.
  5. Did some searching, did ya? http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?p=1033728 (11) Exhaust/Lower Intake studs/bolts (4) Upper Intake bolts - different ID and length [Two short two longer] There should be 21 holes on an L28 head - the other holes are pre-drilled for carbs.
  6. Do you have a stand alone in the budget? I'd suggest going with a brand new setup with your L31 rather then trying to make an old stock 280Z EFI harness work. You'll also have control of Fuel and Spark depending on which one you go with.
  7. RP - do you like to argue just for the sake of arguing? It's not that big of a deal... Chill out...
  8. Wow the Z does look super small next to that. Sublime Z is looking gooooood BP!
  9. Garrett you're out of your element Bawb is the initiator of the group buy, I'm not taking credit for this one.
  10. Haaa Hey we've got a group buy going on for walkers...
  11. My idea: Make a "Hybrid Z Quiz" Before you are approved as a member you should have to answer some easy questions like, "Will an L28ET fit in an S30" "How much HP can an R200 Handle" etc That will solve several problems - it will teach people how to search, get the people acquainted with the site, and answer the specific questions that are asked over and over. I'll agree that some of the replies are harsh, and that the quiz thing would probably come off as 'Nazi-ish," but it makes sense to me.
  12. Oh, come on!! *sigh* We need the "Z quiz" for when people sign up here. I'm tellin' ya. Go look at the L28 - it has pre-drilled holes for carbs.
  13. You know what I'm talking about N/A VQ is still going to be more involved and expensive then a Terbeaux L28, much less a TT setup
  14. If you are on a budget a Turbo L28 is going to be MUCH better for you. Once you have the infrastructure there, you can upgrade fairly easily [i.e. replacing the long block, bigger turbo, etc] whereas a VQ35 is going to be pretty limited with power upgrades, and you'll need to be a fairly decent fabricator unless you have deep pockets.
  15. That is my biggest issue with Honda owners, and the ones that like to talk smack as if their own crap doesn't stink. My roommate drives a SN95 5.0 Mustang They might be the worst
  16. Hahaaa My Mother's side is Scottish and my Father's side is German. Which leaves me with a fantastic beard and a natural taste for sticky dark beer.
  17. What a week [already]. I had an "incident" that required me to order and wait on a new Stainless Steel oil line, and while looking up my part number tonight to confirm that my ebay "Mustang Cobra 30#" injectors were indeed 30 pounders, found out that they are 214cc. [bosch Part # 0280 150 931] I have two sets of 260cc L28ET injectors sitting in the parts room. I PM'd the mustang shop I got them from, hopefully they are upstanding individuals who care about being fair and making things right [NOT holding my breath :/] Well, worse comes to worse I can tune on these for now, and put the 260ccs on there later. Best case scenario - I send them the 214ccs back and they send me 30 pounders. Of all of my dealings on the internet you'd think I'd have learned by now. Moral to the story - Do your homework, kids!! I'm hoping to get my new SS line in Thursday, and by then I want to have the engine harness wiring cleaned up and the WB O2 wired in. After I get the new line I'll take it to get the muffler put on [Hopefully Friday]. I'm off to continue my hectic week.
  18. Haha Delerious I thought you were much older than me... I'm an '87er
  19. Sure, but let's make it out of titanium, some CCWs would look nice on there and those wheel bearings probably need a swap. I'm going to go with raquetteballs on the rear for more traction.
  20. Those Gottdang kids keep skateboarding on the sidewalks!! Also, I about soiled my pants when I heard that to get into U of A you need a 20 on the ACT. A 20. I got a 27 as a sophmore in High School. I'm pretty sure you get a 20 if you write your name down, and select all of one letter. "Hmmm... 'C' looks good today." I thought LSU was low at 24. What is wrong with the world??!?!
  21. No... freaking.. way... Well to add on to the generational problem, the kids these days also think because they have a college degree they'll instantly be handed a cushy job, a nice office and a wad of cash. I personally know 5 people up here that have BAs [most are Business Majors] that cannot find jobs. A good friend of mine got his BA in Marketing, looked for a job up here for a year, couldn't find one, moved to Dallas, still couldn't find one, and now is thinking about moving back up here as the cost of living is much cheaper. I met a friend from High School on campus today that also graduated in May with a Marketing degree, she was still working for an hourly student's job wage as she couldn't find a job. I was a business major for 3 years. I woke up one day and realized, "What the hell am I doing, I don't even like business and have no clue what I would do with a degree." I switched to Geosciences and am currently a Geography major. I worked as a graphics designer for 2 years at LSU for Facilities Management creating graphics for the HVAC systems on campus. I transferred up to Arkansas and simply walked in, no resume' in hand or anything, just a portfolio, and was immediately hired for a few dollars more than I was getting at LSU. I guess the point of all that is we ARE an entitled generation and just want to jump through hoops without thinking of what is going to be best in the long run. "Well if I get a BA than I'll definitely get a job, right?" I'm very grateful to have learned this lesson early on, as my parents were supportive of me but did not give me everything I wanted. I thank them for this now, even though at the time I was mad they wouldn't give me a brand new M3 for my 16th Birthday It seems like the maturity level was reached at an earlier age in previous generations, and "Generation Ys" are still whiney needy kids that have a lot of growing up to do. To echo your comment, Tony, I have felt like an old man many times as compared to my peers, with my disgust for "MTV" and other things like that. I'm glad HybridZ is the way it is, and that's the way it should be!! To be honest having the S30 has helped me grow even more, while I've had friends give me advice, in the end no one else is going to get under your car for you or work a second job so you can have a project car at the age of 19. Thanks for the props, Bob. It's good to talk to someone who isn't a 12 year old at heart like so many of our age - Flatty OUT
  22. Haha go-cart, that's what my buddy with a 3rd Gen Camaro calls my S30. I drove for 6 years in Baton Rouge, I was pulled over once in my 2000 Accord Sedan in all of those 6 years after leaving a bar one night. [Hadn't been drinking that night] I moved up to Arkansas last June, and since then I've been pulled over 13 times. Yes, 13 times. One ticket, but I got out of it. [Cop said I was spinning out at an intersection, which I wasn't] I attribute it to the lack of actual crime up here, so the police don't have much to do but write traffic citations. I'm finally putting a full exhaust on my S30 this weekend so hopefully I'll attract less attention.
