  1. The thread was started in early August...... This was posted yesterday..... http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showpost.php?p=18064462&postcount=240
  2. You do know this is a Z Car V8 swap website, right? I'm doing a LSX swap in a year or two Anyways if you're ever over our way shoot me a message. And if you need any random parts I might have something for you, feel free to ask. Also, does the car not start at all? The turbo might not be bad and the guy might just be throwing out random explanations for why it's not running.
  3. I Agree with BRAAP I really thought the video was well done, but.... I'm just going to keep my mouth shut about what I thought about most of the subject matter And whyyyyy did they have to destroy a Radiohead song? The 510s and Skyline looked great though! [And the murdered LS1 GS300]
  4. CTS-V = LS2, I would love driving one and they look mean. [New one has a LSA but is pricey] Yes Yes Yes!!! I'm finally winning Bob over
  5. I'd listen to Rolling Part's advice about getting a cheap T3 [that's what your car came with] on here or elsewhere online. I'm using a used T3 [off of a 280ZX] that I got off ebay, I'm running 8 lbs of boost and it works like a champ. You sound like you don't want to spend too much money, and most likely, if you go with another T3 that isn't for the S130, the exhaust system will need to be changed. On the other hand, I do know that the 80's Merkurs have T3s on the XRTis, but I would imagine they would be very hard to find. Also, Z31s [early 300ZXs, like the red car in my sig], have T3s, but they are watercooled and might need some modification, and the exhaust is different as stated above. Also, where in Oklahoma are you? I'm about 2 hours east of Tulsa.
  6. I do not have any experience with that wheel, but I don't think you'll be able to get around using spacers. I have the Rota RB 15x8s that have a +4 Offset, and I had to use a 1/4" spacer [and longer wheel studs] to get the 225/50/15s not to rub the spring perch.
  7. There are pictures of that one posted earlier And that's my Z31 in the background.
  8. I don't believe so, it looks like you were talking to people in that picture Looks like it was a great show!
  9. So, my buddy Bryan [MKIV NA>T] was visiting his parents over the break in Texas. He posted a bunch of pictures on our local site of a car show he went to, and guess who he saw!!
  10. Z friends also sometimes take compromising videos of you while you're helping them work on their car...
  11. I shaved one of my 75 non-EGR manis and didn't reinstall an IAC or hook one up with MS, so my car is a bit rough at start up in the cold. I guess it depends on where you live though, when I was in Baton Rouge it never really was an issue.
  12. If you're worried about it, you could just walk around to the other side of the car... And with that arguement, the casting number on the block doesn't reliably tell you about the internals either. I plan on putting my P90A on my Flat Top F54, most would assume it would have dished pistons in that case. [if they didn't notice that the knock sensor bung wasn't tapped, and they were erroneously going by the "head method" ] Yeah, forgot about the oil filter casting thing. But I got one right!! haha
  13. One is the bung for the knock sensor to the left of the oil filter. The second is looking at the head number?? P79 or P90s came on F54s in the states...
  14. Well the thing is my end goal with the turbo was 300WHP, so I'm thinking it'll be fine for what I have. I wouldn't imagine that I had much more than 200WHP, if that. I'm using stock turbo injectors and at 8 lbs boost they are already needing to be replaced. I never really figured I'd get more than 250WHP out of a stock T3, FMIC, and MegaSquirt. I'm planning on 11-12 lbs boost after I break in the new clutch and get some 380cc injectors. I know I could drop money on higher power clutches, but I was just seeing if anyone had experience with South Bend Clutches. I'm really only needing this until next summer, when I plan to pick up a Fidanza, which is 240mm. Also, I'm still debating a LSX swap in a year or so, and I don't want to spend big $$$ on a clutch that I won't ever fully use.
  15. Hmmm. I would assume I'd not be any more than 200RWHP at the moment, I'm only running a stock S130 T3, looking for 11-12 lbs after I get the new clutch broken in. Figured I wouldn't get over 300WTQ until next summer with a bigger turbo.
  16. Bump. I have a friend that swears by these and I'm thinking about getting one that is rated at 300 WTQ. It's a TZ Series Stage 2 225mm clutch for a 240sx [i'm running a lightweight 225mm 240sx flywheel] I'm pretty sure I'm going to get this, just wanted to see if anyone else had experience with it in the last... wow almost 5 years.
  17. What ECU are you running? Try to give as many details as possible, i.e. did it run before, was it already swapped, etc.
  18. This is HybridZ, I would think so.... Search. That's how I found Vihn's setup: http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=114311 Please take some time to REREAD the rules you already read. 2. Please use the search function before you do anything else. The search button can be found at the top of the page. Use several keywords if you don't find what you need right off the bat. Remember: Just about every possible topic and problem has been posted and answered, in most cases several times. The Members on this board are very helpful and a great crowd of Z enthusiasts, but answering the same questions over and over again gets old.
  19. RS Speed's car: Flat Black: and a freshly painted LS1 70 SS Chevelle for good measure
  20. Josh, with all due respect: Am I to believe you have built yourself a L31 but you are shying away from an entire engine management system because you need to drain the oil and pull 4 12mm bolts off the oil pump?? I understand you might not have the time or resources right now for MS but c'mon... you're just being lazy
  21. Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! It's so nice and I'm headed up to my grandparent's house in the S30, so I'm going to try this route. I've been on 12 before, it's pretty fun. http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=134+Roadrunner+Fayetteville+AR&daddr=State+Hwy+303+to:AR-12+W+to:36.352739,-94.113007+to:14+Alton+Cir,+Rogers,+AR+72756&geocode=FexyJQIdBgBj-indpfTSjWXJhzHsCFTn7AF6dQ%3BFex7JwIdlINm-g%3BFRQGKgIdgCRm-g%3B%3BFQxdKwIdTPtj-imrH87RshnJhzEc9sj_3iUYKg&gl=us&hl=en&mra=dme&mrcr=0&mrsp=3&sz=10&via=1,2,3&sll=36.202235,-94.225955&sspn=0.506425,0.883026&ie=UTF8&ll=36.332137,-93.985291&spn=1.011145,1.766052&z=9
  22. What year is the motor and transmission? I have trouble reading huge blocks of text like that but I don't think you said what the new motor was out of. I am using an F54 Block [The same as the Turbo motors] and I'm using a 1978 280Z 5 Speed. [What my stock 78 came with] Any of the 5 Speeds should bolt up, I think the issue is if you have a Borg Warner T5 [My Z31 has one, you need to search to confirm the S130 Turbos do] there is an issue with the driveshaft. I have never done this myself so you'll need to do some research on it. Best of luck, just go buy a laptop and mooch off a coffee shop's free wifi or something $0.20 a minute?? Sheesh. *edit* Just read this sentence, maybe you shouldn't be drinking more coffee
  23. Are you using a turbo F54 or an N/A F54? LEngine says you're going to be at 8.6:1 SCR with a stock Head Gasket on the turbo pistons, 10.2:1 SCR with the flat tops.
  24. Ahh, I thought he was talking about the T-Fitting as well. But he did say oil feed line for the turbo??
