  1. Well I did the mod tonight when I got home. When I went out for the first test drive I immediatly noticed a power increase. Not only did it feel quicker but it felt a lot smoother. Im not sure if my clutch is slipping now or if my gas tank is just that empty but at about 4500RPMS it feels like its slipping. It was not doing this yesterday thats all I know. I am going to put some more fuel in and then see if its just low on fuel or if the clutch is now slipping due the the extra few ponies that I am now making. All I know is this mod deffinetly helped my car! Guy
  2. One dead cylinder will definetly cause a stumble under a fast load and high RPMS. Figure out why that plug isnt firing and fix it. More than likely the opticrap if the wires are new and the plugs are new. I also say get rid of those crappy bosch plugs, the LT1 does not like them. I tried to run the platium 2's in mine but it runs much better with the NGK TR55's. Guy
  3. Well the clutch seems to really grab but the flywheel is so burnt that it just chatters like crazy! I could take a little but what I have is rediculous! I found that info on camaroz28.com. They say to put a 1 watt / 3.9K ohm resistor in place of the knock sensor. Ground one side and connect the other side to the wire for the knock sensor(s). (just posting for future referance for the next guy! ) Guy
  4. You should provide the link to what you are talking about. It would help us tell you if they are good or not I think the ones you are talking about though are made by JSK Innovations....a member on this site. From what I hear his pieces are very nice and fully functional. Not just some shinny part that a ricer would like! Guy
  5. Well the kit does supply an extra pump that you have to mount on the washer bottle. If it was me I would just put water in it cause I sure as hell dont want flameable fluid(washer fluid) spraying all over my engine bay! Guy
  6. Well the clutch set up in my car is junk. The flywheel has tons of hot spots which is resulting in a lot of clutch chatter! I knew when I installed the new clutch that I should have gotten a new flywheel but the machine shop said it "should" be fine and I just resurfaced it. Anyways right now I pretty much just trying to burn up my CF dual friction clutch. I will be pulling the drivetrain soon for paint and I will be installing a new clutch then. Now since there is so much clutch chatter I can imagine that the knock sensor is "hearing" this and resulting in the timing being pulled back. How much HP/TQ could I loose from this? Guy SBC LT1
  7. I work at a Dodge dealer and we just installed a stage 2 kit on a SRT-4 last week. Now part of that kit is a I/C "cooler" I guess you would call it? What it does is spray washer fluid on the I/C when you press a button in the car. Now just how effective is something like this? Guy
  8. Love the color and looks it like a nice paint job to me! Guy
  9. I wouldn't put a clamp on my SS lines! I think if you put a clamp on they they may stay partially closed and result in less braking force. Guy
  10. I havent hand much luck with them either. Last summer I pulled into a gas stationt where there was a 350Z filling up and I said "hey man nice Z" He just kind of looked at me like "huh?" I had my car there to but it was quite obvious that he had no clue what I was talking about. He just filled up and left. Maybe that guy will look into what he got spanked by and the light bulb will turn on in his head as to why you waved! Guy
  11. WOW thats awesome! So whats the plans for the body/interior? Leave it the same colors or change them? VERY NICE FIND! I hope I get that lucky when I go looking for a 240Z to do a V8 swap to! Guy
  12. Well put Mike! Sometimes I wish I was a mod, cause thats pretty much exactly what I was thinking! Guy
  13. Yeah I found that Adobe site last night and I was quite shocked at the price tag on that full Photoshop CS! I was like "hmmmmmmm nope dont need that!" Maybe I can get an older version of photoshop? Im going to go check it out tomorrow. As for downloading of a file sharing program...I would really rather not. I havent had much luck with Kazaa especially! I hate Kazaa, nothing but viruses if you ask me! Guy
  14. Thats too funny Mike! I love it when you beat the guys that think their car is the fastest on the planet! It really brings them back down to reality! Guy
  15. Thanks Now is there anywhere I can download a free version or should I just go down to Best Buy and get a copy? I will probably stick with photoshop just due to the fact that a lot of guys on this board have it and would be able to help me if I had questions. Are there multiple versions? If so which one should I get? Thanks, Guy
  16. RCNSC... I dont think you understand how the search feature works? If you have 100 guy ask "will a SBC V8 fit in my 240z" it will make it hard for the guy who actually uses the search funtion to actually find the info that he needs. So if we can keep the repeat post down to an absolute mininum it will just make the search feature that much more useful. Yes there is always new info but the ALL(not some not most.....ALL) the basic question have been answered multiple times. I think that is what we are trying to get at. Guy
  17. I would like to get a photoshop program for my computer to see what my car would look like with certain mods. What are you guys using for a program? I am a very quick learner when it comes to computer stuff so I dont need the most basic photoshop but I also dont what a professional version that has a gazillion extra features that I will never use. I just want to change the colors, add different wheels, add body components......stuff like that. Thanks, Guy Oh and where did you get it?
  18. I dont think your photoshop'ed pic is really accurate. Those look more like what 18's look like on a Z. Guy
  19. And I thought my exhaust looked good! The only way that exhaust could get better is if it was mandrel bends! Very nice job! Guy
  20. Let say you have 2 350's.....one is from a truck and one is from a corvette. Now more than likely the corvette cam is going to have more lift and the springs will be stronger. The truck valve springs may only be able to take say .400" of lift where as the corvette valve springs may be able to take say .500". The info is out there you just have to find it. I know one thing for sure though, all stock SBC vavle springs are not the same. Guy
  21. The R-12 to R124a kit should have come with the correct fittings to convert the R-12 fittings you have on your car to the R134a quick disconnects that you need. They should screw on over the R12 fittings and then the R134a fitting will be on top. The gauge set you have should work then if you have the correct fittings from the R134a conversion kit. And the "extra" fittings on the side are to hand the hoses up on. Guy
  22. If I remember correctly my 80' ZX had 2 wires going to each speaker? I would run new wire anyways if it was me. That 21 year old wiring probably isnt all that great anyways. Guy
  23. That is one engine bay I would not want to work in! Nice conversion though thats for sure but not much detail went into cleaning up the engine bay. Guy
  24. I think your going to need to be a little more specific than that....think about how many SBC have different heads? All of those valve springs are not the same. Guy
