  1. Wow that looks pretty good! How much did everything end up costing?
  2. Hey thanks. I already the have metal pieces that I'm going to use for the install. I'm mainly just looking for the rubber pieces. I'll check out the Volvo ones! Thanks.
  3. http://www.zcarparts.com/store/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Category_Code=PIC02Here's a link. It might be a bit more than the DIY route but here's an idea:
  4. I believe MSA and even seen on ebay some white guage overlays for the stock guages. It sounds similar like what you're talking about but the latter will have oem style pre-printing and I think some even have a cool Z logo!
  5. Thanks Davy. Yeah the griffin I have is a flat top with the tanks on the sides. I actually bought the JTR radiator mounts planning to use them with the griffin. Well, apparently the newer JTR mounts will only work with the oem camaro radiator. The griffin is just a bit too thick. The griffin core is fine but the tanks are too thick. It's a shame too because the JTR pieces are really nice! I'll try the pick and pulls but I haven't fiven up on GM yet. I'm going to try a couple more dealerships, otherwise I'll probably just end up using the "Help" brand uni. ones.
  6. Hey thanks guys. I found some universal rubber mounts made by that HELP brand. They need to be trimmed but they look like they will work. Part number is 10665. I was really hoping for some oem ones. I'm going to stop by GM this week and try to find a better set even though the HELP ones should work just fine. I'm guessing something off a full size truck might work. I got a nice surprise too while I was searching for these pads. A guy here at my local auto parts store has a blown/nos SBC 240Z at the auto parts store. I'm wondering if the owner is a member here.....?
  7. oops. I realize this is more of a "cooling" question but I figures alot of SBC guys are using this radiator. Thanks
  8. OK I tried searching on this but I still have a question. I just got a Griffin 24x19 universal GM style rad. I'm trying to get it mounted but I'm having a hard time finding the rubber insulator pads for the upper and lower radiator mounts. I've tried all the local auto parts stores. I would like to use an oem style piece instead of rubber tubing or hoses as someone suggested in other posts. I'm trying to keep the install as "oem" or sanitary as possible so I'm hoping someone has a part number or source for some nice mounting pads. Thanks.
  9. Hey thanks! I was going to try to change the oil before the drive but I was starting to rain and I would have had to do it in a parking lot:| I'm just glad to have the car in my garage so I can start...or is it continue....I know it's probably not finish....working on it again!
  10. After nearly 2 years of being parked in storage I finally brought my Z home today. Man it feels good! Now I can start wrenching again. What's funny is I just put some gas in the tank, aired up the tires, and she started right up ( with the battery charged of course ) and she did great the entire 35 miles home. Even a little rain couldn't stop me today. However, I know the wiper motor swap has now moved closer to the top of my list! A little surface rust of the only difference now from when I parked her, but the paint needed to be renewed anyway! Look out toolbox cause here I come!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cool hood! Is it fiberglass? Does it use the stock latch? Where can I get one? Thanks!
  12. I would mainly say SMOG if you plan on staying street legal.
  13. Sounds cool! Congrats. Please do post some pics. I love the convertable Zs:grin:
  14. Thanks for the good info Dan. I have my eye on the GC camber plates but I was going to hold off. But since they may be discontinued I might have to order them sooner than later.Scumdog, that is some nice new stuff you got there! Are the chromoly LCAs usable on the street or are they recommended for track use only?
  15. Yes please check out the ads there......hint, hint!

Car looks great! Did you get rid of the Trophy wheels?
  17. I ran across this. It's great for newbies and old timers alike. Check it out, it's pretty funny. http://albinoblacksheep.com/flash/posting.php
  18. Hey I understand. I just ordered a Miata pod because it seemed to be mentioned the most in the searching I did. I take it you will already be replacing the 3 oem guages with your new units....? I've also seen a Z (I think it was here on hybridz) that had a custom panel with guages mounted overhead, above the rear view mirror and next to the sun visors. It looked pretty slick and allowed room for 2 or 3 additional guages. Just a thought.....
  19. That car is flat out AMAZING! My favorite S30 of all time! Purists need not apply:-P
  20. Sweet! Welcome! I've always loved 510s. If I had an extra Z I would jump all over your offer.
  21. Most likely a scam with an unauthorized pic from a member here. It looks like ebay has caught on: http://http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=98398
  22. J. Soileau 74260zt: just to be sure, which pillar is that you're using. It looks like a clean fit! What did you have to do to get it in there so nicely?

Looks great! What size and brand wheels are those?
  24. If I remeber correctly I'm using the 73 ohms empty/8-12 ohms full version. It will be CLOSE to the Z sending nit specs. PeteP I believe has a write up on his site on how to make the guage even more accurate to the Datsun sender. You'll need to search that one as it's been a while since I did my guages. Also, if you're looking for a mounting location, I've heard of some people using a Miata a pillar pod ( with a little modifiaction) on early 240Z's pillars. What I did was to remove the drivers side round vent in the dash and put a 2 5/8" guage in the hole. It's a perfect fit.
  25. Welcome! Your Z looks really CLEAN! I would have picked it over the Merc as well:) As for the headlights, you can do an H4 swap for the older halogens very easily. You will need the H4 lamps (7 inch round) and H4 bulbs ( there are many brands/styles to chooses from) Also, for the older Z cars it is recommended to upgrade the wiring of the headlamps to take the load off of the switch. I'm not 100% sure if this is necessary with the ZXs as well. You can find out how to do it easy and cheap by searching this site. Also, summit and jegs sells headlight harnesses that do the same thing for around $40. Congrats on finding a nice ZX
