  1. I got the AZC "big brake" kit for my 240z. It's a bit pricey, but you're getting top notch stuff and you can take it right out of the box and bolt it on your Z. No need to get any additional parts. I HIGHLY recommend this kit! Plus you can get the 5 lug version like I did and now you have great brakes and the strength of 5 lug! http://arizonazcar.com
  2. Just want to be sure...is this the stuff you ZG flair users used for welting? If so, is one package of this stuff enough to do all 4 corners? Thanks! http://www.jcwhitney.com/autoparts/Product/showCustom-0/Pr-p_Product.CATENTRY_ID:2008773/c-10101/Nty-1/p-2008773/Ntx-mode+matchallpartial/N-10101/tf-Browse/s-10101/Ntk-AllTextSearchGroup?Ntt=welting
  3. Sweet!! Thanks jeromio. I've been trying to check out your site with no results this past week. It's good to hear you'll be back up!
  4. Evil, wow you posted alot of links. I think I looked at every single one, but have you considered Supra TT tailights? Some might think they are a bit ricey, but if you're going for a more modern look they might be a good fit! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7970102064&category=33716&sspagename=WDVW There is a slight curve in them but should fit with some work! just a thought.
  5. cameron, I found this write up very helpful when doing mine: http://www.atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/suspension/rearend/index.html
  6. Sounds great Mike. What type of parklock will you be using? hydrolic or cable?
  7. Try Summit Racing part #sum-g1438 It should do the trick http://store.summitracing.com/default.asp?Ntt=sum-g1438&Ntk=KeywordSearch&DDS=1&searchinresults=false&N=0&target=egnsearch.asp
  8. Yes this would be a good way, unless you're replacing the bushings and/or powder coating.
  9. If your new driving lights came with all the wiring and realys you should be OK. However you will not want to splice into the high beam circuit to proved the power to the realys/lamps. When splicing into the high beam circuit you will only want to power the "signal" wire to your new lamps, probably in the "switch" circuit. This way the lamps with only be able to turn on when the high beams are on, however, when the high beams actually ARE on, you can still turn the driving lamps on and off. Hope this makes sence.....
  10. You would actually have to replace the drive pinion in the tranny, on the other end of the speedo cable. I think MSA sells these but you will need to figure out how many teeth your new gear will need. Mine always seemed to be pretty close, so I never bothered changing mine.
  11. Hi. I used the oem cable on my '72 240z with a 5" Autometer. I was told the threads weren't the same but they are close enough to get it to work. Just this week I took the speedo out and it doesn't appear the threads were stripped at all. You probably will need to recalibrate the speedo, I believe the Autometer units come as 1000rpm = 60mph. Should be the same or at least very similar for a 280Z.
  12. WOW that's cool! I still find it amazing at how fast the Z cars are with the LS1 swap. I'm still in the planning stages of a swap myself. Joey, I've seen your car parked before and I wanted to stop and get a peek at your Z but the shop was closed. Would you mind if I stopped by and got a view of the swap? You used the JCI mounts right?
  13. Congrats on the new Z! Yes both Haynes and Chiltons offer a manual for the Z cars. If your car is in many pieces you may also find the Victoria British catalog helpful. There are many exploded diagrams of the car and they offer many hard to find replacement nuts and bolts as well. http://www.victoriabritish.com/z_zx_cat_page.htm
  14. Is the VLSD additive necessary? I could not find it in the Amsoil product line-up...?
  15. Also, what visc. wt..etc.. is everyone using for the VLSD? IS 80w90 the standard?
  16. I'm interested too, but none of the links are working.
  17. Just curious but what did you pay for the 2002 LS1/T56 for it to be a "good deal"? Do you know the milage?
  18. Wow those look really bright! Do you incorperate the oem dimmer knob to the new LEDs?
  19. I got mine from MSA a couple of weeks ago. They sent genuine Nissan parts with the nice cad plating for around the same price you mentioned.
  20. I don't think you're going to find a "kit" for what you're tring to do. Try searching, it has been done before.
