  1. The size sounds good but 1/2" plate for a top sounds too thick IMO. You could probablt get away with 1/4 or maybe even 1/8 with a brace. If you have 1/2 laying around by all means use it, but if you plan on buying a new plate get some price quotes. Prices jump up pretty fast with the thicker stuff, at least that was my experience when I built a cart. On mine I used 1/8 plate with 1.25 angle for the legs. It's pretty sturdy. I also have a 2x3 ft cart with casters that I can lu around pretty much anywhere. If you're making a staionary bench with 1/4 or thicker plate you can also use pipe for legs. I would also recommend checking out any scrap yards for materials. Prices are high for new stuff, especially for a bench that will probably see some abUSE.
  2. Hey Mike. Sorry I can't answer most of your questions but as soon as I figure out which flair is which (LF,RF,RR,LR) I will take some measurements. BTW I got the MSA CF Z flairs. They look wider than I expected. The one I measured is about 2.5 inches wide when laying on a flat surface, but I'm not sure if it's supposed to go on the front or rear.... Also, what size hardware did you use for the flairs on your green Z?
  3. That looks cool! But get to work on the REAL Z already. We're all anxious to hear about the LS2Z !!!!!
  4. LMK when you guys are ready to sell a D fender and rear hatch. I'm only 35 min from the original seller so we wouldn't have to worry about shipping....? Thanks!
  5. Just curious but what is he asking for a fender? I really need a driver's side one.
  6. A bit off topic... Ron, did you sell your Z? I met you a few years ago at a gathering at the Krispy Kreme in Ant/Pitt. I could have swore I saw your Z for sale on craigslist a few month's back....One of the cleanist Zs around. It's nice to see you back on the board!
  7. Nice pics! The acceptance speech wasn't bad either. I did something very similar to your upper brace. Do you get any rubbing between the Upper brace bar and the diff cover?
  8. I agree! Also, a nice "pinstripe" or other design at the two tone border will help hide any imperfections as well. Doing ALL of this under the clear looks great.
  9. This is now the second WHORE orange I've seen. What's this world coming to?
  10. I guess I was lucky. Mine came off with a stiff gasket scraper and some elbow grease.
  11. You should be just fine as long as you have the matching tie rod ends....I believe the ends are stamped with and "L" or "R" to help ID them.
  12. FWIW on all the early Z I've seen the racks have been Driver's side= LH thread and Pass side= RH thread.
  13. Last time I talked to someone from MSA they told me they have a supply of these "euro" Nissan bumpers. That was about six months ago, but he said there is a Nissan plant in Canada that is manufaccturing them along with the 432z grilles too. I've also seen them listed in both MSA and VB's catalogs.

    Q45 Vlsd!

Good find! I highly recommend gloves when disassembling the CV joints!!!
  15. The project sounds great! For issues with the LS1 I would give LS1tech.com a try. Here's a search there using " fuel pressure " : http://ls1tech.com/forums/search.php?searchid=1978963 I've seen this same topic discussed there a few times. Hope this helps.
  16. You could try sending a pm to turbomeister. I believe Fred's front bumper is from a Honda S2000. I'm sure alot of fab was involved and I also believe his hood opens from the front, instead of the "normal" way.
  17. If anyone here has an original DVD, I'd be happy to make a few DVD copies!
  18. I'm pretty sure you can use the Sparco quick release with a MOMO wheel, but please verify this for yourself before dropping 3 bills! http://www.sparcousa.com/psteering_acc.asp?id=404
  19. The owner is registered here on hybridz but doesn't post much. E. Bernstein, he also makes nice carbon fiber parts for Z cars. Ha has some pics of his cars in the member galleries. http://album.hybridz.org/showgallery.php?cat=500&ppuser=12359
  20. I'm guessing someone was on their way home from seeing the new Dukes of Hazzard
