  1. If you're really wanting to put the R&D into something like this, I'd say take the leap and do it with CF cloth. It's the same concept as FG, just more expensive to buy the materials for . But, like ron said, CF is better suited.
  2. I would love you to death if you could snag me the clutch slave cylinder, throwout arm, pressure plate, throw out bearing, and include all bolts from said parts. But that might be too much to ask I'd grab all the stuff you mentioned, plus the mustache bar and R200 diff (if it's got it), whole engine and tranny to swap in if you're greedy...
  3. That would be convenient. I like the new system better, it gets much more attention b/c it shows up in the Posts - Last 24 hours search. Does clog it up a little though, but oh well. A little more breaking down into sub-categories would be nice too though.
  4. Alright well I'd rather do this here instead of the Member's Projects so I can get constructive comments and direction on my build. I can make a car domain page if I want clean documentation, which I probably will when I'm done. Here is a link to my member intro thread where I detail getting the car. Anywho, I just picked up my 1974 260z Sunday, complete with recently rebuilt L28 and carbs, and a bunch of other extras. The plan for now is to get it drivable ASAP, then work on the body and such on the go. For now I'll stick with the carb'd L28, but eventually I'll be doing a full megasquirt holset turbo build. All I got around to doing this weekend was cleaning up the clutch and flywheel from the oil that leaked all over the place while it was on end in storage. I also played around a little with the shifter. Something's not quite right there, even with a washer shimming it... List of things to do short term: - Source bolts and such to mate engine and tranny, and install on chassis. - Source whatever I need for the clutch system - throwout arm and bushing, m&s cylinders, etc. - Drop gas tank and clean it and fuel lines - Check, clean, and refresh brake system - Start cleaning up the carbs
  5. I would love some shift plates, in 4spd and 5 spd variety, that bolt into the stock location and replace a shift boot somehow. Something like this: Just an idea. I don't know if these are already available reasonably or not.
  6. Wow that was amazing. Looks like a ton of fun. I'm too chicken to do stuff like that on public roads. Cops, cliffs, guard-rails, etc. I think I'll stick to the track thanks, lol. Can't find tracks like that though...
  7. Ruining the Z? It's read HYBRID-Z, not necessarily Classic-Stock-Or-Already-Been-Done-Swap-Z. If you can handle the fabrication, and you think it'd work, I say go for it. It'll be unique (I think).
  8. He's talking about the Member's Projects section, where you list your car updates. Nobody can post but you. He wants to be able to go back and edit old posts. The admins turned off this feature because of some abuse that occurred before I signed up here (don't know the whole story, just bits and pieces, not my place to bring it up). An unfortunate necessity I'm afraid. I wish it could be turned back on, but I understand the reasons it shouldn't/can't be.
  9. I'm missing the rod that connects from the body to the carbs, so I'll probably be looking to do something along these lines instead of finding a replacement.
  10. I might need an intake at some point, actually...
  11. You're lucky. That's how it should be. I'm holding out for someone supportive like that. I don't know about them taking precedent 99% of the time, but I don't want someone that will B$#&@ and moan when I buy a part or want to work on a car. I want them to be right there with me, or at the very least understand the passion.
  12. You shouldn't need flares with 16x8 wheels IIRC. I thought I read that somewhere today.
  13. It just went from about 50deg to 25deg here in about 30 min. This morning I was wearing a long sleeve shirt to class, now it's snowing
  14. This probably belongs in WTB or your sig, but I want one too!
  15. Yeah there is tons of info around here about tuning. I was just curious what you meant by that statement. Can't wait to hear how the install goes!
  16. I'm going to go this route eventually too. When you say "the modifications to the ecu were done by them", do you mean they provided you with a somewhat pre-tuned map for your engine etc?
  17. Wow now it all makes sense. i couldn't figure out why two people had the same car in their sig pic, haha!
  18. Awesome, can't wait for the improvements. While things are in the works, is there any way we can get the location listed on the main ad page? That would make it easier to figure out which items are of interest.
  19. Geeyawd I can't imagine doing that to myself.
  20. The chrome probably matches your theme better, and would show better if that's the car's purpose. If it were me though, I'd keep the plexi. I love clear stuff that shows internals.
