  1. Wow, awesome man, congrats! Looks like the city still hasn't come pick up those branches after the ice storm eh?
  2. Ack, sorry to hear that man. Hope it heals quick!
  3. Holy crap! I can't believe they were getting that much air. That was sweet. Poor subi though.
  4. He also sells them in grey. I've been contemplating grabbing a set of them at some point too. Any other comments?
  5. Those are so cool. I love delayed exposures.
  6. Oh snap so yall were actually standing on the ice? That's awesome. Didn't realize it till it came around and got a shot of you two. Awesome vid man. Best part was when you cut the motor at about 3:12. Whoshhhhhhhh
  7. According to my dad the original 280z I was looking at was trashed compared to this 240z, so I guess it's out. Another option has presented itself, and I'm going to follow up on it first, but if it doesn't pan out I'll see about picking this one up.
  8. According to 240hoke's it looks like you have it right. It seems like it's a little fatter toward the front of the flare/car, which seems like how 240hoke had it too.
  9. Ha, love the tacked up pic, I remember seeing that. Are those pushpins into the body?? Lemme know if you need an extra hand at some point.
  10. Ahh gotcha. Yeah I saw that, but missed the specs. That explains it, ha! Crazy.
  11. How do you mean? Does he have a kick-a$$ tune or something? More efficient turbo? wha?
  12. I'm still getting alot of positive (votes) responses even though I've mentioned he's sticking with $1500. Am I the only one that thinks that's too much for a non running, rusted, paintbrush painted early 280z?
  13. I didn't even notice that to be honest. Interesting... Dunno what I'd do about that. Well, according to my Dad (he swung by to look at the car and snapped those pics on the way back from a business trip), the frame looks decent and the pans are better than the 280z I was looking at. I do take that with a grain of salt though, b/c the pans of the 280z didn't have the sound deadening. There could be alot of rust hiding under that tar on this 240z. I won't know till I see the car myself in daylight. That's kinda what I'm thinking. Depending on how it looks in daylight, offer $600-750, and asking about throwing in the side-mirrors on the top end of that. Not exactly. There is a ZCC in Branson, but there's a long story to that apparently. Dsommer is local and is trying to help me find one. He tipped me off to this one in the newspaper actually. I don't' have the resources or time to travel to far to get one (AZ, CA, maybe not even GA), so I'm gonna kinda have to make a compromise with the rust. If you think I can work on the body work in stages, I think this car could be a possibility. Live with the hood and roll pan for now, start working on the floor pans, door (replace?), clean up the lower half of the car he hasn't grinded/primed, etc. Then fix the harder stuff later. I dunno. Yeah I'm hoping to do alot/most of the body work myself , and paint will have to be homemade until I get out of college and can afford a real paint job. Those prices don't seem too bad, about what I was expecting if I can space it out and not get it all at once. I'm planning on ZG's anyway, so the wheel arches will go.
  14. I'm not completely ruling it out, but he said he wouldn't sell it for any less than $1500, and it's not worth that by a longshot IMO.
  15. I hate to make another "should I buy" threads, but I can't help myself. Granted, this 240z is probably in better shape than the 280z I was looking at, but at least I have a complete idea of this one. The 280z stabbed me in the back after I got some better pictures taken. It's got some floor problems, but they're not too bad. Interior looks pretty good actually, I'm surprised at the dash. It's got 139k with all original equipment. Looks like I might need a new hood, and perhaps a door too. The back pan looks pretty mussed up too, dunno what to think about that. The rest of it looks fixable. He started working on the body, grinding and priming in places, so it does look a little rougher in the low lighting than it really is. What do yall think of this one? (I'll spare you the poll this time ) He's asking $800. He said if I did $1000 he'd throw in the original louvers and a set of chrome bullet side-mirrors. We'll see about that, not a big fan of louvers anyway
  16. Ok well I think this Z is out for me. My father was coming back from Kentucky today, so he stopped to get an up close look. Look at the pics. Needless to say, I don't think this one is going to happen. OTHER UPDATE I found a 1972 240z only 2 hours away that I think I'll actually be getting. I swear this time. It's rough, but for the price I think it's ok. I'll post another thread with pics to get an opinion.
  17. That was badda$$! It looked like you drifted that entire corner. Awesome! Looks like both of you had lots of fun. Wish I could do that!
  18. Come on Eileen, you dream and you dream, that someday, you'll be a maaaanual...
  19. Uh oh, Houston we have a problem. Crack in the housing. Think it'll be a problem? It looks to be cracked on both sides, opposite of each other, of the wastegate hole. I simulated how deep it goes with the red line. Perhaps it'll just leak for now (will porting be an issue?), and eventually I can just weld it closed and run an external wastegate? Seriously, tell me something.
  20. Ok so I just got the 4" DP off to take a looksie at the turbine. This is real time people, lol. Yes, it took me that long to permeate the bolds with WD-40 and get them off, by myself, on the floor, with a 3/8th-in. socket wrench, and my feet to hold it in place. Pics:
