  1. I think what justin is trying to say is that he thinks carbodyparts.net should have to pay S&H, since they shipped him something else than what they TOLD him he would get. I don't think whether the shipping company should be paid was ever the issue. If you order a taillight, and they ship you a headlight, why should you have to pay anything to get that resolved? You shouldn't, it's up to the seller to fix (pay for) their mistake IMHO.
  2. Interesting thread link, thanks Braap. Hmm well thats not cool, I thought 75's were exempt. Don't 75's lack alot of the smog stuff installed on the later 280z's? Do they even have cats?
  3. From my point of view, it kinda just looks like they just put ZGs on backwards; The backs in the front and the fronts in the back. Look at the front, they're bigger.
  4. Yep, should be IIRC. That's why I want one, best of all worlds
  5. Yes I believe they'd be smog exempt, anything 1975 or under IIRC. The later months of "1974.5 260z" as they're sometimes referred to are based off the 280z's somewhat beefier frame. So technically yes, maybe a little stronger, dunno about "better" per se. Alot of guys like the originality of the first model Z car, and like to do 240z v8 swaps for the prestige. Something about Z cars deviating from the original race inspired ideals as they were redesigned through the years. I'm no expert, that's just the feel I get from what i've read, hope it helps.
  6. Ahhh that was wonderful. What was that revving to?
  7. Hey that's a great one! I have a bunch laying around from an old v8 I took apart. Say hello to some cheap exhaust experiments!
  8. lol nope, just giving you a hard time.
  9. I'm planning on making a booth and trying my hand at spraying when the time comes. Cool thread, nice to see it in practice. That looks like it came out very well, can't wait to see the finished prduct!
  10. Congrats! PLEASE take the video camera with you when it leaves the garage!
  11. Cute, I like the silver one. I have enough on my key chain as it is though.
  12. Only 1-2 years? Is that normal, or is it b/c it's not automotive carpet?
  13. Nope, it's down. I've been trying too. You need to change your avatar, it makes me laugh to much, lol
  14. Personally I'm thinking midnight or spectra blue, with a candy twist. Probably too modern for the "collector" crowd though. I'd go classic orange if trying for a flip.
  15. So you're saying you've done this, that the threads on the N42 solid lifters are too small for the P90, and thus require timeserts to fit?
  16. Yeah forgot to mention that; not quite my style overall either. But that doesn't mean I don't like it, I do, just means I'd do it different. It looks like you've tried to keep a somewhat stock look; what with keeping the side chrome strips, chrome rocker panel, and stock bumpers. That's definitely to be respected. In your case, I do dig the headlight covers though, nice addition.
  17. Yeah I talked to the shop that has the P90 head and they seemed to think I could swap them over. I think I may try using the N/A N42 cam in the P90 head, and see how that works. If I don't like it I'll try to find a turbo cam, or just order a custom aftermarket one once I get the turbo all setup. Now I just need to decide whether to swap the P90 on as soon as I get the car, even though i won't be adding a turbo immediately, or just run it stock for awhile. The compression ratio would be lowered, so I guess the head swap probably isn't worth it till I get the turbo on.
  18. It was a 98, not sure on the trim... AWD bagged Eddie Bauer. Granted I was being a little rough on it, repeated quick stops etc, but if it had been a track car under the same circumstances it could have gotten ugly. It was definately fade though. It was spongy and nothing like an ABS stop, just glided right through a stop sign. So I just want to make sure whatever goes on the Z can handle abuse. But I digress
  19. That link was dead at the end. What did you end up finding it came out of? Nice vid. Love watching WOT runs like that.
  20. So to summarize in a question form: - Unless cast and designed into expensive rotors for weight reduction, drilling is mainly for looks - Slotting helps direct gas away from pads to nix brake fade. Combine with track pads, no (reasonably) brake fade? - Stainless steel brake lines help with fluid temps, and don't expand or deteriorate like rubber lines. Is this all pretty much on base? Learning about brakes has been high on my list ever since I experienced severe brake fade on a ford exploder after some slightly enthusiastic driving.
  21. Literally just came across this: http://www.betamotorsports.com/products/index.html Scroll down, second from bottom
  22. Very nice. I was just recently wondering if something like this could be had to replace those terrible metal casters on the harbor freight cherry picker. Thanks!
  23. Overall look is very clean. I like the pinstriping on the hood. The wheels are nice, but i've always preferred a nice powder coat or brushed metal look.
  24. Would this be an appropriate place to briefly explain the flags too, or would that fall under preparation?
