  1. That's some very skilled work right there
  2. I agree with you about him not editing the listing! I wasn't wanting to bring conflict up about you wanting to talk to him about it, just wanting the conversation about his item to be available to him so he could learn a bit about what he has. I didn't want to be that guy who just tells you that there's a mistake in your listing without a real explanation of the reasons behind the errors.
  3. I gave the seller a heads up on what the manifold really was, but didn't want to be taking credit for the knowledge so I gave him a link. Here's what he had to say about the whole ordeal. Thought you guys might like to know
  4. Like this Tony? This is what happened to the roof of my '71 last summer Please excuse what my American fanyboy assistants scrawled onto the patch in soapstone... (Not me, a helping friend)
  5. Okay, after looking at my own pics I don't think that I have the proper pressure plate! The pins are close to lining up, but it is completely off center... Guess my questions are only about the two clutches now
  6. Thanks guys It looks like I'm missing my TO bearing collar as well. I havent the bearing, but no collar in sight! All of my slave cylinders definitely aren't threaded, so I'm guessing I go with the one on the right and then get the correct TO bearing and collar to match. Sound about right? Here's a link to another thread I posed about pressure plates and clutches if it has any significance. Maybe I should delete the other thread and merge that info into my first post here... Just trying to get all of my clutch bits sorted out as it's the last thing I have before the engine goes back into the car! Edit: I haven't been able to track down a TO Bearing collar (or what the FSM refers to as the "bearing sleeve") so I think I'm just going to drop the tranny from one of my parts cars and use that. That way I can use the entire assembly with a new slave cylinder and TO bearing on my new clutch kit. Seems to be the easiest way to go about things...
  7. Hey guys, I'm looking to buy a clutch fork for my 240z with the stock four-speed and I'm unsure of which fork to purchase. All of the pivot points look to be the same, but the one on the left has an extra piece that extends further down. After comparing the pics from the seller to ones found on eBay I think that the one on the right will work with any tranny that will bolt up to the l-series and the one on the left is strictly for the 240z. Is this correct? Thanks in advance! -Ryan
  8. EDIT: I believe that I simply have the wrong pressure plate for my application. Please scroll down to the concerns I have about my clutch disk. Thanks! Hey guys! I've finally got my motor pretty much buttoned up after the rebuild so I decided to clean up my flywheel before this weekend to make the installation as quick as possible. It has a few years worth of surface rust on part of it, but I didn't see ant pitting so I went with a vinegar soak for ~18 hours and then followed it up with a brass wire brush. It was resurfaced prior to sitting and clean up quite well No pitting visible and it is consistently smooth to the touch, Right out of the vinegar: (forgot to grab a before shot... doh!) After cleaning I decided to mock up the pressure plate just because I could it's a new unit and to my dismay, the alignment holes on it don't line up with the dowels on my flywheel! Two of them line up perfectly, but the third one is always a bit off regardless of orientation. What the heck is up with that? Is this due to poor craftsmanship with the pressure plate? That's all I'm really able to come up with here... Overall View: Close up of the issue: (both of the other dowels are lined up) I also had a question as to which clutch dish you guys would run. I have had an exedy OE clutch waiting for this car for awhile, but I picked up a clutchnet four-puck from a member here on hybridZ when I purchased his turbo set up. He said that it was nice and snappy and held everything his megasquirted l28et put out so I thought it would be more than enough for my l24. However, I am concerned as to the amount of "meat" left on the disk even though he said it had less than 500 miles of use. After looking at other pics, the amount of material on the disk looks to be normal, but I'd still like some conformation. Exedy clutch: Clutchnet four-puck: Thanks for the imput!
  9. I have a cocker spaniel and he is great to have around the house. Personally, I can't stand dogs that are too small. He is about as small as I'd ever be willing to go. Still rambonxious at times being almost 13 years old, but lays around making a decent "lap dog" too. Doesn't shed much at all, but he is light colored so whatever he does shed isn't nearly as noticeable compared to a darker colored dog. He's a purebred, but doesn't have any papers to back it up. He is staring to go deaf, but I think that is probably a product of inbreeding. Overall, I would recommend the breed to anyone that's looking for a smaller dog just because he's great overall. Definitely worth looking into.
  10. Does the issue only occur in cold winter weather, or all of the time?
  11. But there is no issue with pressure and flow when using the stock Z pump and the subi rack, correct? I'm very interested in this swap and it's definitely going on my list of things to do when refreshing my suspension in the future
  12. Any updates on the project? I like the sounds of a carbed vh45, but a carbed vg30 would be nice too
  13. back-to-zcars, that is a very nice manifold you have there! I have two spare manifolds and access to a full welding shop... hmmm I'm smelling another project as soon as I get my current car running! Derek, how long ago did you contact them about making their patterns for them? It would have to be more than a year ago, right? Any word on the status of their product?
  14. It's more common that you'd think! I have owned three s30's for close to a year and it wans't until about a week ago that I got to see under the hood of a running one in person. Still haven't ever driven one, let alone mine! Needless to say, my engine has had a full rebuild and is going back in the car tomorrow or next weekend depending on how quickly I can get the last of the parts I need. Derek, everything is looking great! Luckily, all of this (save for the rear disk breaks) had been done to my shell right before I got it We live close enough together that we should get some kind of Z meet together this summer!
  15. EASILY one of my favorite Z's out there. I absolutely love the color, and the ls1 doesn't hurt either
  16. Like GeeZ said, make sure everything gets a GOOD looking over and take note of anything that you even think might not be right when you get her back. Be ready to ask for compensation for anything that isn't as it should be! Now, how does towing a car make a point? :S
  17. Which engine is in the truck?
  18. ROFL! The only thing that I'd change is what the lady says to Geli. She's crying because she know Hitler is going to take his rage out on her when he gets a chance to have his way with her later on, not because she is sad about the situation he is yelling about. Still, amazingly funny!
  19. It would be great if you guys could post up some scans up for all of us to see
  20. Sorry to bump this thread with a bit of an off topic post, but I saw two XT's on my local craigslist for $250 and thought of this thread. One is turbo, and the other isn't. For this price I don't know how they're still around... http://kpr.craigslist.org/cto/990679846.html
  21. Glad to hear that he is all right! Give the man some space. Let him try and repair it if he wants and don't pressure him. It was his first car!
  22. I thought it was a great video! It's a shame that they took it down What's in their audioswap library?
  23. Looks interesting. I wonder how well it's going to be able to cover each swap. It's only 144 pages long...
