  1. Sorry Joey! I don't know what I was thinking. The center section of the turbo has a unique 5 bolt pattern. You could always go down to a local machine shop and have one made. It's a fairly straight-forward piece and shouldn't be too expensive.
  2. With a 3-inch system you're going to see gains like everyone has said, but it might be a good idea to clamp up the existing 2.5" system to get all of the kinks worked out of the system if you aren't made of money. Your only cost for the 2.5" system is the down-pipe, which will be the same with either application, and you can always move to 3" in a few weeks for approximately the same price.
  3. Are you using the stock Nissan turbo? It has a unique 5-bolt pattern that you won't be able to find a flange for.
  4. Wow, that finish is almost identical to the one on my bassoon! You should see how much deeper and redder it gets under full stage lighting
  5. or to convert the engine to rear sump. (unless I'm missing something)
  6. Sorry to hear that someone broke into your house! That really is one of my fears. I'd imagine it being completely violating :| Homeowner's insurance? Definitely looking forward to seeing some pics when you are able to again! I'm thinking that I want to do the Datsun panel, shave all of my side markers, shave my drip rails, shave my antenna, and blend in my sugar scoops. I'm still debating on shaving the fuel filler door and the B pillar emblems...
  7. Anything Beau? This is definitely on my list of things to do when I get back into body work in a month. Its one of the very few things that's actually cheap to do
  8. After you verify you don't have the + and - backwards on the coil, check the condition of your points in the distributor.
  9. Post up some pics and let up know how you like it! As for welders, stick with a Miller, a Hobart, or a Lincoln and you'll be fine.
  10. That really isn't a bad deal at all if everything is in good shape and they pull it properly. Lets see some more shots of the new ride!
  11. We're talking about the military issue ones that come in the green packaging, right? They are definitely much better than the fake stuff they sell in camping stores. I remember how hard they were to get a hold of back when I was in boy scouts
  12. That dash is worth 3-4 times the sale price! But it now
  13. What do your fuel tables look like?
  14. From what I've noticed, people take you a lot more seriously once they have seen what you have built with your own hands. Not sure if your dad's shop has a car of it's own that has been built to be a display of what can be done, but that's what I have seen a lot of tuner shops doing. To gain a reputation of a "killer engine builder", you need to build something that will grab the attention of someone as a "killer engine". See if the roadster guy is a purist and is dead set on keeping his u20. You might be able to talk him into something with a bit more punch and use that as your first real build outside of your stroker. Show him your stroker as an example of what you have done so he doesn't feel like you don't know what you're talking about. If he agrees to it, offer him a ridiculously low labor charge + parts for the final price and be sure to document lots of the build to be able to show others.
  15. I'm actually digging the runs in the red paint under the hood It gives it something a little bit more than the overplayed standard rising sun pattern
  16. What engine do you have and what is your hp/tq? Gearing? I don't think you're going to see too much of a benefit with the wider tires unless you're pushing a considerable amount of power.
  17. Does anyone know how much of the firewall constitutes the "chassis"? There has to be a definitive line on when you're illegally swapping VIN numbers by cutting out the stamped portion of a good titled car and one that the title was lost long ago on. How does this relate to the selling of clean VIN numbers of older cars such as 1st gen camaros for people who are doing full frame-off restorations?
  18. Carefully drill out the centers of the broken off bolts and use the proper sized "easy out" to remove them. Use a good quality (ie. not black and decker) tool for this job. Cheap one's break out and it's a major pita! Running 4/6 bolts is unsafe, and it definitely isn't helping to balance the assembly.
  19. I had a feeling that point would come up I wasn't going to be the one to mention it and ruin it for him though!
  20. I'm feeling #7 I like the centered and big logo. Makes it more about the club. I'm not a fan of the colored city in the background. It takes away from the cars and club logo, which should be the focus of the whole banner.
