+1 for it being a 2+2 but i really dont like the way the rear wide fenders look from the rear....

yeah northstar V8s aren't that great of an engine, even when they're in cadillacs, never mind when swapping them into other cars. LSx FTW. modern, fuel injected, bada**.

honestly, showing up with a non rotted Z should be enough lol and if you dont take pics, ill act really angry. lol oh and if there are any 2+2's feel free to take pics of them too!!! i hate not being on the west coast some days.....

dude, i KNOW the feeling! ive been just trying to get my 78 running with the stock L28, and i cant even get that to happen yet, and everytime i get under the car, i see all the rot and rust.....and it adds up and gets depressing! nevermind the fact that my 240sx hasnt been running right, if at all, lately either. just remember, deep breaths. and don't rush. it will get done. Rome wasn't built in a day y'know .....crap...but then again, they didn't have to deal with 30+ years of rot and rust when they built rome.....

wow man, i hope he's ok!!! i've cut from the 3rd knuckle (the one closest to the nail) to the nail off my right middle finger before and had it re-attatched.... can they save his?

ugh im slamming my head against a wall at this point with this god forsaken car. i have the timing set. i have spark. i have air. i have WAY TOO MUCH FUEL! ive already fouled a set of brand new plugs, and when i pull them out theyre fricken soaked in gas. maybe the injectors are stuck? ps. I love this thread, and I love 2+2s. even though i get told almost daily my car is ugly by people i work with lol

DAMN IT. so....we have the timing all set. compression is at 160psi on all six cylinders. WHY WONT IT RUN!? the plugs were still a bit fouled, so im cleaning those off, and i need to get some new GOOD gas for it. anyone have the large rubber elbows that go from the intake to the MAF and then from the MAF to the intake box?! i need them urgently.

update!!! the timing cover is on!! my valve cover gasket and drive belt should be here tomorrow! too bad i forget what bolts go where lol

hey rusty! do you have the bolts for the seats? my car came with the seat poorly riveted to the floor i got a new seat (since the previous idiot cut up the seat rail) and forgot to get bolts.

that car is hot like fire!!!!

well.... i need one more mustang cobra rim, tires for the rims, front 5 lug hubs for the 240sx, coilovers for the 240sx, brakes for the 240sx, and money for work on the Z

that cas is beautiful!!! thanks man!!1 update! we finally got the broken oil pump bolt out of the timing cover. the oil pump arrived WITH new bolts. full on re-assembly of the front of the motor begins next week!

......about the history of my particular Z. i dont know where the owner before my friend moved to, and carfax only goes to 1981. here's the VIN... GHLS30-12046 it was made in 3/78 and its a 1978 280Z 2+2 any info would be great!!!!!

update:: spoke to Zeddfindings, ill have to get the couple floors and make em work. the new timing chain and gears are installed, im just waiting for the oil pump to show up and i still need to get the broken oil pump bolt out of the timing cover.....

when us 240sx guys run manual trannies, we usually run auto ECU's no problem at all, and auto ecu's tend to not have a speed governor mwahahahahahahah!!!!

update: i finally have the money to at least buy the floors!!! now just gotta find the 2/2 ones. i sent an email to zeddfindings..... anyone have a spare lower L28 timing cover? i broke and oil pump bolt that just wont come out....
