  1. Haha c-c-c-c-ombo! I'm posting on my phone so I guess AT&T took a dumb on me lol.
  2. When I was building the 280z last time I believe the geometry was off on the car. It caused some issues and there seemed to be about the width of a quarter between the engine mount and the insulator after I drove it a few times. I was never able to get it to sit right. Well this time I spent quite a while and made sure the geometry was spot on. Checked checked then rechecked. It should be perfect this time.
  3. They are great fun but they sure can dent the wallet into submission haha. I need to buy a few [pricey] things to make everything 100%. such as a turbo to replace my leaky and worn stock one...
  4. Nice, actually looks pretty slick. Any plans on ditching the park bench bumpers in the future?
  5. Well I made up a mount and got everything all mounted up. Shouldn't be too long until first fire up now. Should happen sometime within the week when I can find some time between school and work. Can't wait
  6. Engine is in...sorta. I needed to notch out the mount for the speedo gear. What ended up happening is I cut the mount off =p now I have to fashion up a new one.
  7. Clean build, one the cleanest to be honest.
  8. ^possibly, he's still got a few. Well, today I hit stride. I pulled the stock R180 and related stuff out and swapped in an R200 with all the necessary parts. Then I dropped the driveshaft. Finally, as the sun was beginning to set I pulled the old L24 and 5 speed trans. I even got it sold and literally took it out and plopped it in the buyers truck in one fell swoop. When I hit stride and am completely soaked in grease, grime, antifreeze, and tranny fluid I don't have the want to goop up my phone to take pictures. I'll have some up eventually haha I promise. The work will continue tomorrow... I just competed an order to a certain Arizona Z Car for some much needed parts will update when I receive then. The Z should be a lot better suited for the likes of an RB this time around, as you may have remembered my 280z from my previous build...
  9. Agreed, seems to be a lot of different designs.
  10. Sweet build. What is it with the iPhone lol, I mentioned I had one in a thread and people jumped all over me for it lol.
  11. http://www.nismoparts.com/catalog/?section=647#1709 Scroll Down...$36 bucks new
  12. Well, it's been quite a while. I've been crunched with school and work over the past few months. However, I got some time off and am back at it. I got the old L24 ready to pull and should have it out by tomorrow. As it would be, sunny San Diego turned cold and rainy the day I decided to get out and get cracking on it. Didn't get any pictures today because there is nothing interesting yet. I'm really hoping to get the RB in and maybe even running by the end of the week. As for the girl, the write up was a bit out of initial excitement. It didn't last very long as it turned out she had one heck of a smoking habit which is one of my pet peeves. We only went out once after we first met. It was an odd thing, even by my standards haha. Oh well, more money and attention for the fairlady. I'll keep the Z updates a-rollin...
  13. A/C is overrated roll down the windows and enjoy the ride!
  14. Hey guys, I know this is an old thread but I finally got back to my build. I've never changed a throw out bearing before and I have some questions. It's a push type, as the slave pushes the fork forward to engage the clutch. This would warrant a bearing from the 300zx, which I purchased. However it looks diffferent then what the RB25 has. Where do I go from here? Do I have the wrong part? Thanks in advance. RB25 part I pulled off Part I bought
  15. Hey Pat, I was curious about your manifold. Do you happen to have any more pictures of the mod you did? How did you get all that to fit in there haha. My turbo doesn't have much life left to it and I am eventually going to go 30 or 35. What seems to be pricey and hard to find is the exhaust manifold that will work with our setups. Thanks in advance. (I'm not an RB20 hater xD)
  16. I got mine as a kit from Summit, included the radiator, shroud, fan, and a relay. Good price for it all too. It works great as well. If you don't mind the radiator hose crossing over, I'd recommend it.
  17. Those are pretty much what I was thinking. However, to make it work it would have to be official and very easy to navigate to from the normal site, or else no one will know to go to it. Possibly on the home page where it says forums, classifieds, and wiki could be added in. The forums are great, it's just that things can get very jumbled in the process of posting and information can get a little scrambled which can warrant reposting of the same questions etc. I would be happy to impart my (albeit limited) scope of knowledge to get Articles moving.
  18. I was thinking how awesome of an idea it would be to have a Hybridz wiki. We could organize and share information a lot more efficiently. Is it possible to add this to the current site?
  19. The only car I own is my 240z. Love it and drive it usually one or two times a week. A friend of mine recently got a hold of a new Impreza STI so we have been driving out in the mountains for fun as of late. An old Z may not suit many people as a driver but I enjoy it. Maybe I just haven't had the privilege of driving a new car =p
  20. I'm with ya, a lot of people have OCD with things that are not even that important to get the car driving. Rather be enjoying something by driving the hell out of it then sitting around and just gussying it up like a Christmas tree for extended periods of time I recall a friend of mine who refused to take his newly restored mustang out for a spin for the first time because he did not have a shift knob that he had ordered...
  21. Looking great! Really giving me a kick in the ass to get moving on my project. It's just slightly unnerving to rip the L24 out of my only personal running car =p
