  1. Still looking for a pulley if anyones got one.
  2. I've got a brand new oem rb25 water pump (non N1). Think the 26 would work?
  3. I searched around Google and have not really found any solid water pump pulley replacements for the RB25. Anyone know where to get one or a USDM one that would work? I read on some random forum that a KA one might work but they did'nt seem too sure. If your wondering, the reason I need one is because the water pump pulley flange on my engine came a little bent and I could not get the pulley to seat properly. So in a moment of haste and stupidity many moons ago, I knurled the water pump flange so it would not slip anymore. It was a very stupid "fix" as the pulley wobbled considerably and I made the commitment to fix it this time around. So needless to say it was stuck on for dear life and it took a crowbar and a screw driver to work it off which left it slightly bent. I don't want anymore pulley problems so I really want to fix everything 100% this time around. Thanks guys.
  4. Thanks, I'll give it a look. Got my brand new water pump in, gonna fit it asap. It's a non N1 as I didn't want to get into modifying things and my cooling system has proved to be efficient thus far. Nissan Part #: 21010-AA527
  5. It'll be fine, the weight of the engine will set everything into place.
  6. It wont just work, if at all. I think the ecu needs to have an rpm signal and you would need a mechanical speedo gear to use that tach. Basically, Im pretty sure it would be a lot of fussing around if it even would work to save a little money.
  7. Haha as long as it didn't harm anything that's the best fix ever! Removed plastic bag and problem solved usually the problem turns into a much bigger pain then that.
  8. I don't see the harm in one. It'd fix a few issues that I have currently. My return boss is broken off, it's rusty inside & out, unbaffled, won't have to go with a surge tank, leaks gas fumes into the cabin, I can center it better than stock and have better weight distribution, I can easily go with AN fittings, all while being more robust. On another topic bought a new oem (non N1) water pump. The one I have wobbles and in my haste to see if my RB25 even worked in the 280z I never did get around to replacing it.
  9. I was previously rear ended by a truck in a 280z and it crushed the fuel tank. Full tank of gas drained out everywhere. Hes paranoid about it now haha.
  10. Nope, not yet and yep I will have it posted as soon as I get it haha. Been swapping emails with Cody from LoveFab about it and he's just been short handed at the shop as of late. I'm very anxious to get it though haha. While bleeding the brakes I found a leak that I fixed today. I also went ahead and swapped on the new harmonic damper. Didn't put up as big of a fight as I thought it would. Basically the plan from here is as follows. I'm going to continue checking things off my list to get it running. I'm not that far off but there are still things to be done. I don't have the capabilities to fabricate a custom fuel surge tank and I can't really find anything that I'm comfortable with. This coupled with my fathers paranoia that if I get rear ended again I'm going to blow up due to the fuel tank has me looking into a fuel cell as a final answer to fuel storage. I have a custom Love Fab equal length manifold being made and am going to continue to collect the parts needed to do a trick turbo setup. Looking to get what I have running for the time being and being real gentle on her until I have all the parts for my turbo upgrade on hand. That's how it's looking so far.
  11. Bumper was removed but here's what it looked like;
  12. I had a big HKS with the titanium tip on my 280z but I found it to be too big and shinny. Where I live it's a bit of a cop magnet too. I'm going to go with a more oem looking one this time around.
  13. Got my radiator mounted in today and got my Autometer speedo and tach in. It was a HUGE pain in the ass to get those wing nuts off that hold the stock gauges in! I'm sure this is a problem a lot of people run into and what I used was a 19mm 12pt socket and I cut a socket wrench in half to get them off. Hope that helps someone in the future.
  14. How difficult do you think it would be to implement traction control in a 240z like that? That would be really neat haha.
  15. Yea haha, get that engine. That would be a smarter move then the brakes if your friend is willing to give you a smoking deal on it and it's in good shape. I don't thnk anyone has put an evo engine in a Z yet, but I'm sure it can be done. I'm sure it would be a lot of work though haha.
  16. You'd have to make up with your own brackets and what not I'm sure.
  17. I hear ya with the revenue stream x) Good to see your plugging along on yours. I'm going to be doing a fuel surge tank setup soon with those AN fittings, just need to get it all mapped out as I don't have much experience dealing with those fittings.
  18. I believe he was joking with you As for the turbo, was that the specific manifold sold by greddy to work with that specific turbo out of a kit or something? Or is it a greddy manifold that was sourced elsewhere? It's hard to tell in the video, but hopefully the gasket you have ordered will sort everything out. Good luck!
  19. Hey cool! That turned out good. Looks like I'll be buying Fidanza in the future.
  20. Modifying your driveshaft comes with the RB territory, my friend. McKinney Motorsports sells one that's all ready to go if you don't want to go through the hassle of having it done yourself.
  21. Maybe the flawed design is the cause of the reasonable price?
  22. That just looks scary. How did that get through the intercooler? Or did it get in through the turbo's oil return line? I must have been very fortunate. When I first got my 280z going with the RB25 I got a little gung-ho with the Greddy boost controller. The first run trying to tune it, I had misread the directions and hit over 18psi on the stock turbo that was already gushing oil into the intercooler charge pipe =x
  23. I like the maroon color, looks good. I also feel the same way about 17" wheels, they look weird on a Z but the tire choices are there.
