In the mean time, try some other good oil. I remember my tranny grinding while downshifting, switch to Royal Purple $$$ and the grinding stopped. I am far from the best in terms of oil, try a different one is an easy short term fix, at least! Dayz

I personally wouldn't buy it, take advice of people here, there is an enormous amount of bodywork...just look carefully at the picture of the door. It is not the big rusted part that will kill you, it is all the little dings and rusted area where you don't know if you have to change metal or not. You are close to Texas, give yourself a favor, go there and pick one up, it will save you time money and...

CF, Yeah, I invest a lot of time in reading every week. I don't give advice for stocks, that is a rule by me. I don't feel comfortable if a loss happens. As you said, don't put your eggs in the same basket, diversify, that is how Funds make money, you lose one day you win the next. Remember that you depend 100% on the economy and speculations where you have no control on. Personally I don't like stock spiking like this, another strategy that people use is to cut their stocks, they cut their stock (sell a certain % now and keep some for later, sell a % later, etc.) All depends as well on your costs of trading per transaction, and the amount of shares you have. If you only have 10$ in stock and it costs you 10$ per transaction it might not be wise to spend a % of the capital on transactions. On the other end if you have 10 000$ in stocks, 10$ is a small % of your capital. Make your decision analysis tree and follow it, Without emotions !!

Penny stocks isn't a game, or it is a serious game. Yes I invest in penny stocks, faster turnaround and daily changes (buy & sell). I won and lost over the years, study your markets, read a lot, visit the company if you can, adjust your goals toward your choices, there are tons of strategies. Read, read and read ! It is a business in itself, and a quite profitable one if you work hard at it. Sell when you hit your goals and don't look back, don't keep stocks until the end...you keep it too long you lose hard! Don't be emotional about stocks (Gekko) I have been once and lost...let's say it would have paid my mortgage in full plus some. Have Fun!! Dayz

Turbo, AWD ... My dad always told me that more there are parts more of them can/will break. That said, If you are ready to live with a sports car, why not buy it. 1400 Japanese engine, I am sure there are a lot of those in scrapyard...Blah Blah Blah, should be a fun car and not too expensive. I believe Mobythevan on Hybridz has one, search! Dayz

That is called rust free up-here in Canada. I have seen and restored worse than that...If you are patient Go ahead ! -
Thanks guys. I find that my sand (I guess) 2040 is a bit rough on Aluminum parts, it makes them white!! I would like an abrasive that can clean aluminum such as a timing cover, oil pump, carbs...etc Thanks Dayz

Can you drop a T-5 out of a 280Z ?

Sorry, didn't see you had an SBC! Dayz -
Snow is so much fun! I had 6 months of pure snow a year to have fun with. 1- Get some good tires, snow or ice depending where you live. Snow tires in the back, ice tires in the front was my mix on my MK3 Supra Turbo. 2- Wash you car very often so it doesn't rust. 3- Practice, practice and practice...after a while you will understand the road condition and you won't hit curbs!! 4- I guess you can put some sandbag behind your seats to add some weight, or over the axle where it is better. Have fun...

Guys, I got myself a sandblasting cabinet...that is a lot of fun. I bought whatever they had for abrasive, it is real sand, but I find my parts quite rough after blasting. What type of abrasive should I use for: example - Rough rust (calipers), cleaning metal (crossmember) and on aluminum (brake booster)? It would be great for you that knows which abrasive to use with the type of metal/finish you want, to describe your process. Thanks Dayz

What would you do?(car buying decision)
Dayz replied to mn240's topic in S30 Series - 240z, 260z, 280z
Supra MK3 are great cars. Reliable, maybe not that cheap, solid as a Tank.. First car Hummmmmm.... Maybe not as powerful! -
I have heard from him 2 months ago. I have a really positive experience with him, I got the parts in no time. Great person to deal with in my opinion.

Hi Guys, I have a favor to ask. I need the cross sectional view of a distributor for a 280zx. I don't feel like buying the manual again (don't ask) just for that page. I have dismantled it to find a broken part but I am not totally confident on my rebuilt, would like to see a picture of it. If someone has the Haynes manual, can you scan/take a picture of the page, that would save my day. Thanks and Happy new year!! Dayz

Fuel should be very easy to check: Fuel pump working- Injectors working.Check if you got both. Get yourself the wiring diagram for both and see if there is a difference. Yes, ECUs are different on top of my head. Injectors are also different. Try with a junkyard ECU, but since you are going the cheap route and you knew everything was working prior to the engine change, why don't you put back the old Intake manifold? I believe the SOHC Engine changed in 1992, probably different Intake. Dayz

Well Ron you are right. My plane was certified to run unleaded gas, so I was bringing my Canister at the pump and filling the plane with them. Cost was a lot lower. I was only doing this in the winter, in the summer it was not going as well if the plane was heavy. I guess with the unleaded gas, the plane was more sluggish, had less torque/power. Dayz

Hi, You could have put the older intake manifold on it - hence being like stock. Now it can be many things, check if you have spark, fuel, air, every electrical sensors are plugged and all the vacuum are there. I wouldn't suggest starting to change parts, because if you put a defective one it will be very hard to find which one it is. Dayz

Clip Seal - It holds the : fender to inner fender seal !! I think I know them by heart now, Dayz

This is a No-no. Read on what aluminum and metal does together...yes in a good environment it works well. As a floor pan, your alu will make your metal rust a lot faster and everything will be a redo in a year or so. You are a lot better grinding, and welding a new sheet metal...it doesn't have to be perfect, but effective. It will take you a day and you will be over and not thinking of redoing it next year!! I will be honest with you here. I have delt quite a few times with Japanese supplier from Montreal, Quebec And I believe I know who this one is. I will not recommend you to buy anything without checking it fisrt. I now deal with this one here in Toronto, which also seems to have great prices. http://www.acura-parts.net/index.php?page=shop.browse&category_id=7&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=26 Check it out, Dayz

Actually here in Ontario, if your car hasn't been registered in one year you have to have it towed to the garage for inspection. Let's say that I have driven it without plates before. You shouldn't have a problem registering it. Just bring your paperwork at the register office and they will do it for you. Bring your serial number plate, you will have a proof !! Dayz

What transmission are you using, I didn't know toyota was making 6-speed standard tranny except the getrag in the supra!

If he has money, he can go in Milton where the shop owner is the guy from Dream car garage. I went there, I have seriously never seen such nice work. Check it out http://www.legendarymotorcar.com/ Dayz

Guys, I just bought an Audi 2.8 for the wife and would like if someone could check it out early this week as possible. I just want someone to tell me that the salesman isn't a crook, that the car doesn't have weird sound and it will drive back here in Canada! Thanks PM me if interested. I will paypall you something for the trouble!! Dayz

Hi, Check the MG's or the Triumph. Mines looks very much the same as the 240's and both sides are available. You can also find some on ebay I believe from time to time but they are expensive.

As a Canadian I have to answer this! Yes I found it very funny for the big questions on a National/international scales but for everything else you can do the same thing here in Canada! Dayz
