  1. What are the plans as far as manifolds go? I guess seeing how it is going to be cross flow i assume, the intake is usless, but what about the exhaust manifold? Also, is it set up more for a lower compression turbo set up, or will it be designed for a higher compression motor such as the KA?
  2. First off, there is no timing belt. It is a timing chain. That noise you hear may be a few things. First off, it may be not timed or off a tooth. Are the valves adjusted correctly, or are they hydrolic? Another thing is if they changed the chain they might have not had the tensioner adjusted correctly causeing too much slack in the chain. Try those for beginers. i know that didnt answer all your questions but try that first.
  3. It is exactly like the stock manifold. It places the turbo in the same place. It is very well made. You should see how thick the flanges are next to factory. It will definatly flow better as tubular flows better than that cast hunk of metal.
  4. Ok, i have been doing a complete restore over that few months and i have started tearing down my engine. Now i am breaking into all parts of this engine, and i building it for 400whp. I only have about half on my parts right now, but i mean i am changing everything. Well my friend has a cheap turbo he bought for his honda that was too big for it and wouldnt get fully spooled to like 4500 on a stock 1.5 that is. It is a straight T4. He gave it to me for $150. I am not sure if i just want to make it a hybrid of just keep it as a T4. The specs are: -TO4B .60 A/R compressor and 1.15 A/R turbine with a divided T4 flange for quicker spool up. Plus it runs a v-band clamp for a 3" downpipe. The turbine seems very big, but i am thinking since it is divided and is suppose to spool quicker it will help. As of right now I have a SS tubular turbo manifold, external wastegate, Turbo II cam from MSA, Megasquirt. I have a spare head right now i am porting and polishing, I havent decided on if i am going to run larger pistons yet, though. And i also plan to be running a custom intake manifold. I still have to choose injectors though. Damn i am babbling on. Does anyone have any experiances with that large of a turbo. Here is one just like it on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2454496017&category=33742 Ryan
  5. I have the same manifold. i was wondering what it came from. Only thing is mine had a KKK K26 turbo on it that used the stock exhaust housing but set up for external wastegate. The turbo he listed wouldnt fit unless it had a t3 flange on the turbo. I wish mine came with that turbo.
  6. http://www.mazdausa.com/MusaWeb/NA_Autoshow/transform_big.html Heres an updated one.
  7. The weather is my excuse to. That freakng wind chill keeping in colder than 20 below for a week hasnt even made me want to look at my car.
  8. Just as an update from a couple hours ago. Now -11 with a windchill up past -45, yes that is right we are suppose to hit 50 DEGREES BELOW ZERO!
  9. Its nice and warm here in NY. -7 right now. It wouldnt be so bad but the 30mph winds drop it down to -35. It sucks.
  10. 300ZX struts wont fit. They are not inserts like on trhe first gen Z's.
  11. Basketball and orgasmo are some of the funniest, sickest movies ever.
  12. Juan has a big rear disk kit he was working on and i am planning on running that. It is slightly larger than the 280ZX. i am just figuring that since the brakes will be more similar to the 300zx than the 280zx, i figured the larger MC would be better off.
  13. There is a formula for determining which mastercylinder to use. But i think road racing with the JSK brakes in the front and rear disk may be more than the 280ZX one can handle.

  15. you can buy universal front diffusers, but the rears have to be custom. usually they are a 3 peice as far as the quality one i have seen. There would be the two end peices and the middle piece.
  16. crap i misread your post. You said 17/16ths but i thought you said 17/18ths. My bad . So you were trying to run the one iwas thinking about. They are cheap too. They only run me about $45 for a lifetime rebuilt one.
  17. I once had a throttle body out of a 95 200sx se-r with the sr20 in it. It was 70mm and woulb bolt up. I got rid of it withought thinking about putting it on my Z. I gave it to the guy i traded myold car for the Z. I am surprised no one tried these. I think the older 91-94 had the same but tps was on the wrong side.
  18. hey i was just looking for info on this swap but instead i was looking at the 1990 300ZX's 1 1/16th MC. They had 2 different ones, Neapco (17/18ths or somthing) and tokico (1 1/16th's). There may be a probem with the center bore of the booster, but otherwise it should be a better setup the smaller as long as you are running rear disk. It also is set up more like the stock I beleve. I was reading an article for this swap in a 240sx. Only downside is it is bubble flair going into master cylinder. let me know whats going on, I couldnt find any updates on your set up yet. Ryan
  19. NX2K's are great lttile cars. Can handle incredible to. They are very low and heavier in the front than sentra's but can be made to have oversteer. Plus the only factory limited slip in its class helps. i have been in and seen some insane SR20's in FWD's. There is a built turbo NX in my area for sale that runs high 11's. It is pretty quick.
  20. I am definatly interested as i broke my radiator towing my z. Tow hook sliped and caught my radiator support and pulled my radiator apart. Been wanting to go all aluminum, but dont have the money right now for some of the other custom fit ones. I was going to go plung into the larger universal ones but i want more clearence on the sides for intercooler plumbing, which this one sounds perfect. Keep us updated. Ryan
  21. According to that offset listed they wouldnt fit a stock 240sx anyways. +12 in the front and +6 in the rear. With coilovers those should fit but may require a small spacer in the front.
  22. Yeah those old max's are quick, actually with a stick they all are. But i had a 87 with the VG30 in it. Very quick.
  23. There is an se-r near my house now for $1400. I would love to pick it up. I had a 91 NX, which was a sportier model with t-tops. It was fun and i traded it for my Z. I had a lot of suspension done. A friend of mine had a 93 SE-R with almost all the bolt on's and ran a 14.3 with full interior and crappy balding tire. They can be very quick with a turbo, which you can pick up a jdm kit off a sr20det for under a grand. If i didnt have my Z i would be driving them. The SR20 is the most overbuilt 4 cylinder of its time. The Pulsar GTI-R was an incredible sporty hatch with the sr20det that had individual throttle bodies and could put out over 400hp withought anything else but some bolt on goodies and a better headgasket. But only advailable outside the US.
  24. Looks like a hydrolic to me. I have one sitting around and it looks identical, except mine isnt as clean. It you look there is only one nut on the lifter. So this means they are non adjustable, therefore hydrolic. Someone correct me if i am wrong.
