  1. The ZR1 is a fast and relatively "cheap" car. You get a lot for the money. My opinion is that this car is merely to show the world that Lexus is planning to do some radical things in the future and this is just a sample. They are LOSING money on every one of the 500 they are selling. With Toyota's new CEO, expect some pretty sweet cars in the coming decade. He is an avid car enthusiast and knows what Toyota is capable of. It kind of does remind me of the 350/370 but the rear end is gorgeous imo. And you can't beat the sound that comes out of that 4.8 V10
  2. Some people really need to wake up!! Glad everything turned out ok!
  3. I love this video. But it is even funnier sped up and slowed down
  4. Great story. Mine's similar haha. Well, I've always been into cars ever since I was a little kid. My dad would ask me what different cars were while we drove around and walked through parking lots. He had an '86 GTS Corolla hatchback himself and loves cars. Although he's stuck with a Camry now....poor dad haha. Anyways, when I turned 16 I immediately got my license and drove our '92 Camry around. It was the extra car in the family but I wanted my own car. Three months go by and I get a job at...dun dun DUN McDonalds! Woo!! Ok so not really...but anyways it was a job. By the end of the summer I had $2500 saved up and the search was on. I wanted something older but didn't know what. I knew OF Z's but not much about them other than what was in my classic car books. Dad suggested we go and look at one so we drove down to San Diego to look at a 240. Looked decent, had some rust in the normal places and started right up. The suspension and brakes were SHOT though and we had to use the hand brake to stop the car. Dad said no pretty quickly haha. A week goes by and I keep looking in the local autotrader. I see one for $2150 down in Escondido. 2nd owner and 150k miles. The car needed paint, had bullet hole stickers on the side, and had a lot of rust in the rockers. My family is originally from Boston so my dad didn't think that the rust was an issue compared to what he dealt with back when he was a kid. It had frame rail rust that we apparently didn't see! Whoops! I sold it to a friends sister for $1700 and picked up a '88 Turbo Supra. Well, after the supra I had a '95 J30 and then got one, ONE, of my current Z's. '78 with 102k original miles. Gorgeous car. I love it and have had it since Feb. '08. I thought this was the one I was to keep but I want to go turbo or LSX so it's for sale I picked up my '75 last month up in Woodland Hills for $2500. I bought it from some kid and his dad. Seems like the dad wanted to do the project with his son but the kid didn't like the car. It has a MSA body kit on it that I'm not really a fan of. If anyone wants to make me an offer on it, feel free I'm not asking much. Anyways, it is an original L.A. car and is cleaner than my '78. Needs paint and weatherstripping and the works but it drives great and the suspension has been done so I'm good for now! I'll be 21 in January
  5. Lol, I like the supra community myself....but I'm biased having owned an '88 Turbo
  6. Hahaha, I redo the ad every 5-7 days because on the L.A list, it gets pretty far down there. I didn't realize how close two of mine were on the San Diego list lol. But yea, it needs to sell so I can start my '75 project.
  7. Sounds great! That 20psi pull sounds downright mean!!
  8. Josh....what were you searching for when you found that video? lol
  9. Ohh....now I feel bad lol. I'm still new to this whole artsy thing
  10. I WAS going to go make some lunch.....that's scary!!!
  11. Nice!! It looks pretty sweet. Might need some lowering springs with the fender flares though. But looks awesome regardless!
  12. Update: Still haven't gotten the car registered. I ended up getting the '78 clay bared and that cost some pretty pennies but I think I can this coming tuesday! And if all goes according to my evil scheme, I should have the body kit off next weekend To be continued...
  13. Don't know if you ever got my message but my 280 is still for sale. Link is in my signature.
  14. Hahaha, you're really happy with your decision huh? It'll be worth it man! Keep chuggin'!
  15. My school has the worrrssstt speed bumps. Needless to say, I hold up the entire garage with how slow I go over them
  16. Yea, the real site looks pretty legit but I'm not a fan of the listing fee
  17. Well you're in the right part of the country to pick up a new one
  18. It's true lol. I don't know how Z owners in other states cope with it!
  19. Yea, those HKS mufflers are a pretty penny. They look and sound good but you can get just as an aggressive sound from a glasspack or turbo muffler. Headers also don't do too much to a completely stock engine. I'd vote for the MSA turbo muffler system and a high flow cat. Shouldn't be more than 400 or so installed. Good luck!
  20. That's a pretty cool site. Definitely one I'll keep in mind if I buy another one. But I don't know how much traffic it gets and how well Z's would sell.
  21. Hey, I'm trying to sell one of my Z's and I keep getting emails from this company http://www.neatfree.com/ They are BBB accredited with an "A+" but I'm always weary of companies such as these. They deal with auto auctions and such. Wouldn't Ebay be just as effective? I can't say how many people have even heard of this company but it seems that most know of Ebay at least. Anyways, if anyone happens to know anything about them, or has had experience, please let me know
