  1. Many Many thanks! Nothing like keeping it to its original roots but updating the power, performance, suspension, braking etc. You have a sweet S30 BTW, I used to live in Ontario and vacationed and visited Peterborough extensively and there is a very active Z club in Ontario (as you probably are aware of). Looking forward to seeing you modify your S30. Thanks! I definitely have plans for it it's just a time and money thing at the moment. Being 24, just into a fresh career, a house, finishing my project Jeep builds etc. makes it tough. I'm just happy to be able to drive it and enjoy it at the moment.
  2. Hadn't seen this build. It's perfect! This is one of my favourite cars on here yet. I love the Inline-6 Turbo setup, keeps it period correct with enough modern items to make it go like a scared rabbit! Don't get me wrong, RB swaps, 2JZ's, LS1's etc. are all great swaps and amazing builds but just something about that somewhat "original" setup is intriguing. Excellent job! I'd definitely go this route with my 260Z.
  3. That looks like quite the project. If it's been sitting on that damp grass i'd be checkin for the rusties big time.
  4. Sorry, that's kinda funny as Datsun's aren't known to "last a long time" needing constant attention or major restoration after a few years, and they're far from an investment. As for your other questions, if the car is what you're looking for and in good mechanical shape then yes it's a decent buy. I can't imagine there are too many others in the Chicago area. Sort of like up here in Ontario, Datsuns are hard to find and in decent shape even more difficult.

  6. I like Meguire's NXT Generation Tech Wax. It's a little pricey. It works quickly and brings the shine up really well though. It lasts a very long time.
  7. Uhhhhhh... wow... Just wow. I've never ever in my life seen that terrible of body work. And i've seen some pretty shitty body work.
  8. You should request the aid of the sexual partner of your preference or handle that "wood" situation you've got there. Seems you've got a bit of a problem
  9. I've shipped to Ontario, Canada from MSA a few times and it isn't cheap shipping. I couldn't imagine the rate to Saudi!
  10. ^ For what it's worth, i'm going to echo this statement. Turning out really nice!
  11. Pffftttt those wussy Americans would've resorted to a gun to deal with that situation. You know, this seems like an almost fitting smilie. I know it's a horse but it definitely resembles a bear!
  12. I've got $10000 Canadian tied up into mine with purchase/maintainance/mods etc. And i've owned it since July.
  13. Not saying anyone's irresponsible or anything or being "dangerous" it just makes me think that when I have witnessed first hand how easily it is to incur a fatal head injury on a motocross bike. Videos are here to post your thoughts, and opinions. That's the first thought that came to mind. The second thought was how a few buddies and I used to boot around on XR50's (when I used to race big bikes competitively) and they were a blast! Not that we were always responsible or anything, we were typical 18 year old meatheads...
  14. Not to be "that" guy but being that i've raced bikes for over 10 years and been in as well as witnessed some brutal crashes, common sense would indicate that the little girl should have a helmet on. Not tryin to preach but somethin' about physics, a 200+lb guy, the lack of give in a set of handlebars and how easy it is to wash out or lose it on a 50cc is would make an ugly situation. I dunno, just me I guess. Other than that, XR50's are awesome and a ton of fun!
  15. I'm likin' the Jeep Rescue Green. It always looks like ♥♥♥♥ in pictures but amazing contrast in natural light in person:
  16. ^ i'm not defending the cars in any way as "nice" works, i'm just saying drifting isn't all that serious so the cars don't have to be.
  17. ^ Is anyone supposed to give a ♥♥♥♥?
  18. Why not? It's a car built for drifting. In a genre so watered down with look-a-like S13's, 14's and AE86's it's unique and fun. There's no need to be serious. If it goes sideways and makes tire smoke it works!
  19. A clay bar works best. Clay bar and detailing spray.
  20. So you hammered on the yokes and that was able to free things up? Can anyone chime in on the proper procedure for doing these? As this seems very different from the way i've ever done u-joints. I mean, hitting the yokes would work on any u-joint, i'm just curious if there's something different about the Z's that would make tapping the caps not work?
  21. So what way worked, hitting the caps up or down?
  22. They can only go out because they can't go INTO the cross of the joint itself, it's impossible. The top of the cap keeps them from moving that way. There's no need to stop them from going inward. Unless these are completely different than any other u-joint on the planet I do not see how the aforementioned methods wouldn't work? U-joints typically use two types of clips. The inner "C" Type retaining clips and the outer "D" or some call "G" type retaining clips that hold the "top" of the cap in from the outer edge of the yoke.
  23. But if he removed the retaining rings on the base of the caps, how would that work?
  24. Remember to keep as much heat as possible on the caps, not the yokes.
