  1. Explorer is wearing out, another 10K miles and still running good, but the thing is just falling appart. Doors / windows / wheelbearings / brakes / shocks / are needing attention. I think i'm back in the hunt for an early bronco, there is a guy on my Flag Football team that restores them, said he'd help me find a good one. I'm torn between the bronco and the new FJ cruiser, but I think whatever $$ i put in the Bronco, i can probably get some of it back. Where as the FJ will just depreciate. We'll see...
  2. Good point, there has been ALOT of WWII stuff on lately and I can only imagine how some of that era feel. Something to consider.
  3. I'd like to see it low on the front quarter, small enough to sit in the space below the lowest body line. I like the 280 on top, just the whole thing smaller... OK, i know, move those double stripes back a bit, BRE style and stick the 280Z logo you have below in place of the DATSUN. I'm not trying to tell you how to paint your car Just making suggestions. Totally take them or leave them, as I am really big on you making your car what YOU want. But i would like to see my suggestions in one of your fine drawrings...
  4. I'd just say be REALLY carefull, turn the motor over w/ the starter, coil unhooked, first to see how un / stable the whole thing might be. Hopefully you'll be able to tell how much movment there will be.
  5. I dig it! Maybe a smaller Z emblem, really competes w/ the sun.
  6. PM Mike Kelly, as an admin he has helped me w/ a similar issue.
  7. Such a lovely Porsche, I love seeing it posted! But I do have to say it is only NEARLY perfect..... It WOULD only be perfect if it were mine
  8. they look pretty cool. Anyone else think those center cap logo's look photoshopped?
  9. No but i'd like to! What chanel? What show? Trying to get an idea of who they are promoting the car towards...
  10. Exactly! Take tools required to remove the whole assembly, if you can't take the imediate parts you need, and take it all. When you get it home you can use other tools to finish dis-assembly if needed.
  11. I agree w/ JBK I'm thinkning there could be a complementary lightr shade of green, but not too light, for the bay. You could do some of your plumbing w/ polished copper and the gold paint to match. I wouldn't do too much gold, but it should be in there. Should look slick, would like to see it!
  12. Super nice. Here is a JIC parts lot, or you could mod the junk out of this motor and drop it in and store the matching parts stuff. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1968-1967-DATSUN-U20-ROADSTER-OR-FAIRLADY-ENGINE-PARTS_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ46098QQihZ010QQitemZ200157448687QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW

Can you get tickets if you are just general public, or do you need to have a product to market / shop to sell stuff?
  15. Should probably start another thread on this but I've got a big home movie backup project coming up, for VCR tapes, buy a TV tuner card w/ a co-ax input and onboard encoding. For other formats, i have some research to do to keep the video quality high.
  16. Great shots. Who's dark blue 280 w/ the flip front end?
  17. In Dubai w/ the winning M of the 24Hr Dubai in Jan... A bit more recently in Scotland w/ my Rented M5. ( 2.0L Diesel ) And of couse, in my favorite place!!! Oh, and my other fave
  18. Yep, get to go back to Dubai one last time next month, and what's going on in Dubai in November? Well other than the temps starting to get into some sence of normalcy.... THIS! http://www.dubaimotorshow.com/Default_en_gb.aspx I seriously doubt I'll see anything there that's less than 100K US but it should be much more fun than any autoshow we'll have in T-Town I'll be sure to take lots of pics.
  19. I knew what you meant, and I tried to edit my post but couldn't. I'm not sure how much the sand effects handling on high traffic roads. I did a driving school at the Dubai Autodrome and had no traction issues. I remember being a bit weary but you could really push the car and not slide all over the place, they may clean the track too though? But if they were goofin off on a less traveled road, then yeah probably plenty of sand on it... Anyway, there is a lot of sand in the desert...
  20. Their surveys must be telling them something else other than what I want
  21. The roads can be sandy but for the most part they stay clean unless the road isn't traveled too much. There are some dead ends and roads that are started but don't really go anywhere and they fill in pretty quick. Here is a shot of what happens...
  22. Yeah, was in Dubai from Jan to June and it was incredible to see the amount of moving violations, EVERY DAY. It turned me into a defensive driver very quickly!!!
